Can someone please help me find the stock UGKG3 kernel for a GT-i9000M running Gingerbread 2.3.3?
I used Odin to flash the latest SpeedMod kernel to get CWM Recovery on my phone and now it's stuck in a logo boot loop.
I need the stock UGKG3 2.3.3 kernel but can't seem to find it anywhere.

I found the rooted stock kernel in this post but even after I flash that with ODIN I'm stuck on the boot logo. I had flashed SpeedMod, and then Voodoo and both had me stuck in boot loop. After flashing the stock rooted KG3 kernel I'm just stuck at the boot logo, i.e. no loop.
Go into recovery and do a full wipe before and after flash

Also, what were you on originally. 2.2, 2.3?

I was on stock 2.3.3, bought the phone used so I don't know how the previous user had updated to 2.3.3
In any case, this is a non-issue now because I was able to use CWM recovery that came with the Voodoo kernel to flash ICSSGS which was my ultimate goal anyway. I don't see myself ever going back to stock Gingerbread.
Thanks for the help!

Odin gets stuck when trying to flash JV1....
Gladly I can still use download mode so I'm able to restore my galaxy s....
But I really want to install gingerbread... any ideas on how to install it?
I uploaded an image of the part where the flashing gets stuck... in the image iim using pit 512 but I have also tried with 803 and I get the same result... after odin fails I can disconnect my galaxy s... and boot into download mode again
Have you tried to download odin 1.3 maybe this one is corrupted. Try to restart pc, run odin, put all files, connect the device.

I 've had the same problem. Flash with Odin 1.3 should work.
I tried with odin 1.3 too...
And it didn't work either =/
I was also stuck and i flashed darky's odin rom. Than i have flashed stock gingerbread, flashed 2.2 speedmod kernel and finally i have flashed ultibread via cwm.......so try flashing other rom

Sadly that didn't work either... D:
I'm downloading the JV1 rom directly from samfirmware and if ir doesn't work again I'll try flashing from another computer =)
Well now that JVK has been released I tried flashing that too...
And I can't
It's really weird the bootloaders just don't seem to want to get into my phone x3
I tried using odin and heimdall using the version with the safe bootloaders and it never flashed completely.
Gladly my phone hasn't been bricked... maybe it's because odin and heimdall don't ever get close to flashing the bootloader?
Anyway... I have a mexican galaxy s... I think the name of the model is I9000T
Can someone help?
I was on darky's 10.1, darkcore 2.6, jvo baseband.. i wanted to disable the lagfix so that i can flash another kernel so i went to cwm to disable the lagfix. however it apparently did not disable the lagfix and now i'm stuck at the gt-i9000 screen and i can't boot up my sgs. can someone please please please tell me what i can do?
If you can get into download mode, I would suggest flashing to a stock 2.3 or 2.2 rom through Odin.

Hello..
I was on cm7 nightly rom. I wanted to switch to Juwe's rom because of camera.
I formatted my system and did a factory reset and flashed to JVQ rom via ODIN.
Flashed speedMod kernal.
Then booted into recovery mode and formated cache and did a factory reset and then flashed juwe's rom via CWM.
after I rebooted , I got stuck on Galaxy S logo!!
I tried to flash many times(By flashing to stock via ODIN and then trying to flash juwe's via CWM) and also tried Simplicity rom... It just gets stuck on that galaxy S logo!
Help!
Did you re-partion when flashing stock samsung firmware. CM7 and samsung based firmware have different file systems.

Yeah... I did re-partition while flashing stock rom.
Try flashing stock jvr via Odin 1.3!

glad it worked, i use it as my stock recovery if all else fails...all praise to nitr8...its creator!
Hey all, just revived my old captivate, was going to put ICS on it, was attempting to root, but the one click root program wasn't working, was hanging while rooting.
I tried factory wipe, and now I get stuck in a boot loop, it will boot the i896 bootscreen, the the Rogers screen, then reboot.
I've tried from there connecting to Kies, but it won't recognize it. I tried flashing stock Eclair to it using Odin, still bootloops, tried one click odin, still boot loops.
Any thoughts? Am I missing some obvious noob step? I don't have CWM or anything on it, just a stock 2.1 that won't boot.
Just tried flashing the AT&T firmware, same deal. Get past the ATT bootscreen, then the Galaxy S screen then it reboots.
Flashed Froyo, and it boots! But I can't root If I flash back to 2.1, back to bootloop.
Try to search around the forum for the stock recovery without signature checks. Once you have that, you can flash a rom. And most custom roms comes pre-rooted. You can also flash a kernel with Clockworkmod recovery built in, and flash the rom via CWM. Just read the Rom thread about installing.

Thanks, looking for that now, any idea where it might be to narrow my search? Hopefully this helps.
I think it should be in android development forum, in this captivate section. If your on a computer, you can search for it using the search box at the top.

If you're on Froyo, look for the speedmod kernel. If you can flash that via Odin/Heimdall, you should have root and CWM on your Froyo build.
The other option would be to flash a stock Gingerbread rom with CWM baked in - I believe that 4-2ndtwin has a KK4-based one-click with CWM and Gingerbread bootloaders in the Stock Roms Collection thread.

Flashed the Kernel through Odin, but on reboot there was no sound and the touchscreen didn't work. Managed to get into CWM, so I'll see how things go.
The kernel worked, got to CWM and flashed CM9, thanks for the help!
Hi there, I rooted my GT-I9000M on KG3 FW using this FW http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23560333&postcount=498 , downloaded Superuser and busybox, downloaded ROM Manager, flashed CWM, but when I'm trying to install custom roms, it boots up on Android System Recovery 3e instead of CWM Recovery. Did I missed something or I need to do something else to make it work ?
I've got the exact same problem.
Flashed stock kg3 pda,phone,csc
Flashed rooted kg3 (pda only in odin)
Installed superuser and busybox which seem to work correctly
installed rom manager and download cmw recovery.
Tried rebooting in cmw recovery and it does not work...
I don't think the cwm is the same...I believe that is just the simplest root directory possible, nothing more. Try flashing jvt or jw5 in pda and root that after with appropriate root kernel. Then you will have no issues. Besides there are no custom roms for kg3 anyway.

This is a good guide by All Gamer. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379650
I already saw that guide, but the JVP ROM is not available anymore. I googled it and I can't find it !
Guys just flash jw5 under pda and use the kg3 modem and csc. Then flash semaphore 2.7.4. tar. Problem solved. I have a bell Canada phone myself and this setup works great. Then you can flash ics or whatever in cwm. If you don't like ics, I recommend Dmore3.3 for jw5.

Is there any rooted kernel out there which I could use with stock kg3 rom and modem without losing anything at all?
So I could use cmw recovery for a nandroid backup of my phone?
thanks
I just did what vanisleryan said, but I still got the Android System Recovery 3e not the CWM Recovery. I'm totally lost now ...

Bud I'm running a custom rom installed through cwm and the instructions I gave are what I'm running right now. If you're rooted with the semaphore 2.7.4 kernel than you have cwm. Not sure what you did wrong? Go and install the cwm apk I think it's available in the chainfire thread.

OK, I figured how to get to CWM. When I'm trying to install the MIUI ROM, I got bootloops. Did I do something wrong or it's just an imcompatible ROM ?

Not sure but I think you might just need to pull the battery when it boot loops and go back into cwm with 3 button combo, install again and should complete install. It probably tells you installation instructions on thread. Man if you don't end up like miui then try Dmore3.3... It's rock solid and resembles ics but runs on gb.

I successfully installed MIUI and I love it. The only thing annoying is that it's showing numbers instead of my carrier name.
Maybe you need to install a different modem, where in the world do you live?

I flashed the original UGKG3 and the "problem" still there.
