On my just updated to LG's GB phone, I received a weird SMS:
SQA Config Update SQAUPL=https://ciqcol01.ciq.labs.att.com:10010/collector/c44PB4oIzXW//CM.
What is this, and do the "ciq" parts indicate it has something to do with Carrier IQ?

I did a quick search on this but couldn't find it. Anyway is it possible to add mms to your phone? I currently have to goto the providers website and view to photos and most time that site doesn't work. So i was just wondering if there is a way of adding this. I don't know much about this stuff so no need to point and laugh if it isn't possible.
well, yes. depends on your carrier.
it is telus
I realy don't understand your question.
The diamond has MMS support.
Are you asking for the settings for your provider?
TDO
ok so then whenever someone sends me a text with a picture or a video i have to log onto the website to view those pictures or videos. My question is just like most flip phones that get them sent directly to their phone is it possible to do that aswell with a smart phone. I only had this phone and a blackberry and they are both the same in that i have to log into the telus website to view any texts sent to me with media attached to them. also i have to email people my photos instead of just texting them which i also hate.
it will get directly to your phone if the mms settings are correct setup with the
settings from your provider
I had the same problem (using T-Mobile UK), all I got was a text message with a URL to T-Mobile's site.
To fix it, just send an MMS to yourself! For some reason, you need to send an MMS before you can receive one (at least that was the case with T-Mobile).
Try it and see if this fixes your problem.
yea for me it was the same,
i called tmobile why its so scarry, they told me that they need to know if your device supports MMS and the best way is to see an mms coming from your device so they can be sure that u are working on an mms enabled device.

I just injected Indonesia Telkom Provider number into my HTC Hero CDMA (previously Sprint)
All setup setup seems are correct, I can make and receive call and also send and receive SMS.
The problem are when received SMS, on the sender number, number "0" changed to character "D", for example 017760540 become D1776D54D.
I can't reply this sms directly before change the number to the correct number.
All problem happened with all type of ROM (Original or Custom).
Anybody can help me on this.
Regards
Samuel

Here's an interesting thing that's happening with my Cappy. I live in Brazil and have one specific carrier as my carrier of choice, let's call it Carrier A.
For some reason my the SMSs my wife send me do not get grouped together with the ones I send and she's from Carrier A as well. Now here's the facts:
- On the contacts, my wife's number is 0418862xxxx (italics is the area code - the 0 is just to mention that it is a long distance cal) / So when I send her a SMS, that's the number that shows up
- When I receive one of her SMSs the number that I have is 021418862xxxx - the bold number in this case is the service used for long distance calls (which, incidentally is the service # provided by Carrier A)
My brother's number from Carrier B is stored in the same manner, 0419911yyyy but when I receive his SMSs they arrive with the number +55419911yyyy - bold is brazilian international code. BUT, now the messaging app is able to group the messages correctly - This also happens with contacts from Carrier C and D.
If I actually open the message (not the grouping) and check the details for it, it does mention that it was received from my wife (so it IS able to check that it is her number after all)
Did this make sense and anyone has an idea?
bump (for glory!)
I'm having a strange issue with sending SMSes. The carrier promted me to check if I have the correct SMS message center is used. I don't have any option to modify the center, so I thought of sending me a few SMSes from another phone as a test, and I did receive those messages on my Milestone, but when trying to send a SMS, it doesn't work, it just gets stuck on "Sending...".
I'm using CM 7.2.4f
You can't modify the sms center? How come? It should be available in the messaging app settings.
Nope, there are other people who reported not being able to change the SMS centre and I'm one of them.

Hi,
I'm coming to the Z3 Compact from a Samsung S3 . That phone had the ability to block individual numbers by adding them to a blacklist. Useful for persistent telemarketers, etc.
After a bit of digging, am I right in thinking that the Z3 Compact does not natively have this feature? Or have I missed the option entirely?
I can see Call Barring, which isn't what I want. There also seem to be some 3rd party apps which do this, which are reportedly not working correctly with KitKat. I am also not interested in rooting the device just yet.
There is the ability to send calls from a stored contact directly to Voicemail. Is this the way it'll have to be done? With a 'Nuisance' contact set to send to Voicemail, and adding the problem numbers to that contact?
Thanks in advance.
