anyone else having this problem?
DOlphin HD and Opera Mobile shows them just fine, but stock browser showed me one GIF. and then just showed me GIFS as still images.
anyone else?
something to do about it ?

It really grinds my gears that my N1 cant play the animation of a gif picture while I am viewing it in the gallery. My brothers samsung behold can play them and even add them for a contact's picture and still play the animation when he gets a call from that contact.
I know what you mean. My Hero would play gifs in the gallery and so does my friends Captivate. According to the specs the Nexus One supports the .gif format and they play fine in the browser. Weird.

Yeah i know, i just posted this in case any one knows of an app that will make it play outside of the internet browser.
I believe android lacks support for gifs.
Havent seen a single android device that could view gifs. Ya it sucks

1. Download Opera Mobile (non Opera Mini)
2. enter in the address bar

It works without HTC Sense
I got an animated GIF of an Android beating on an Apple with a bat but it runs like crap through the gallery app preinstalled on the Captivate (at about 1fps). The Irony, is that the IP4 plays it perfectly. It looks like an issue with the Gallery app as it played fine on other androids on their built in photo viewer. Is there a setting to make it play better, or a better app to do it?

Hi guys, the new flash player is available on market. What are your impressions?
I am on Topogigi v1.7SP1 and cannot notice any difference in flash playback (tried both stock and Opera browser). Anything over 480p is choppy as hell...
Find also nothing new...
I cant even play 480p anymore!? Not smooth at all !

Balano, try to restart the phone after installing flash, that seem to have helped me.
Worked, but still choppy at times it should not
But... I cant choose at what resolution youtube should play. The 240/360/480/720/1080p menu is gone I use Opera Mobile, since i cant choose useragent on stock browser.
Another problem, after playing a video, the screen turns off.
Testet with CNET news and youtube.

Yeah, resolution menu problem is present in Opera for me as well. Actually it's still there and you can change the res, but it is invisible on the player bar???
In the default browser it is working properly (you don't have to change useragent, at the bottom of the page m.youtube.com, there is a link to show desktop version of YT).
And I agree, Flash 11 went downhill

You can change the user agent of the stock browser: Type in about:debug (like an adress), then you have more settings.
Has anyone else found that the Dolphin browser hangs on v4.3? I'm finding that it works for about a minute and then just stops responding. Android notices and asks if I want to stop it or not.
I haven't contacted Dolphin yet.

BTW - Firefox works OK (but feels clunky). Chrome works OK but doesn't support flash.

for some reason all flash enabled browsers will load youtube vids as flash instead of html5
flash version will crash it 100%, while html5 will crash when you try to ff.
i am no longer able to download gifs via a google image search, the phone attempts to download then shows in the gallery as a black pic. i noticed this started maybe around aug/sept with my Droid MAXX and now on the Turbo. In the past i was able to download from anywhere on the web stright to the gallery. seems like i can only download from tumbler now. is anyone aware of a workaround to this or know what has changed?

I have plenty of gifs from downloading from 9gag, ifunny, and other places. it takes a good little bit for them to play in stock gallery. wait about 5-10 secs and it should play. Or just get a gif player on the playstore
