Thanks for the intro trying it now.
Though I have never used, Enhance Email sound good, almost stock taste but enriched function.
To save battery, just stop unnecessary sync, disable data when you dont need it, disable auto services, which you don't using it
Here sort of things I am using
-Time N clock (stop auto update, once did it, thats enough)
-In setting - privacy - stop backup data to google server
-Use autostart or any similiar to to stop auto running application, like buddies, email, hub N many more in my list, Thogh thiese applications are loads N remains in background, consuming very little RAM N battery, but still it is useless
-Manage data connection, I do manage with phoneweaver. you can schedule (OR trigger with location), it switch on according to my place, when I am out off office/Home it switch off wifi. as well switch off data connection just few minute later to my sleeping time, N switch on just before time to wake up.(this saves a lot battery, just 2-3 % in 7hrs of my sleeping time)
Though all these varies individually, but try to manage best way according your usage.

I too agree on this. I was on a hunt for a good email app and Touchdown surely helped me a lot. I can now check all my ofc mails on this app and yet have the Ofc IT control only the Touchdown part and not the rest of my phone.

If you get annoyed with stock based email programs (99%) it's worth trying Maildroid, they have a free version you can play with before purchase. Feature rich, highly customisable, I'm very happy with it. Also means you can freeze the stock apps that swallow battery, which makes it very efficient power wise. It's also got support for ICS.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maildroid
To be.honest, I'm still on free version, saw no need to upgrade and purchase.

Take a look to k-9 Mail.
For the battery, I'm on LC1 and my Note drains battery very fastly.
And I'm already using alla tips told by Dr Ketan up above.

very best tip to improve battery life is to buy an extended battery.
This can double or almost double your battery life. Some are really cheap too, like the hyperion. But bulk and extra weight are disadvantages.
Thank you all...
By no mean I am disappointed at the battery life of the note. Usually, it can last a full day of usage with some juice left. Since I like this device so much and often find myself using it even when its not necessary, battery drains quickly
Not much a fan of an attached extended battery. For some reason the appearance reminds me my first cellphone, Moto "Micro" Tac Elite. lol

I agree. I carry an extra stock battery (bought 2) in my wallet, and just use the Note as and when I want to. I rarely run out, but if I do, I pop in a new battery and carry on.
I also use it when not necessary, just because it is so nice . I have a cheap tablet to ease the Note use, but am giving that away as soon as I can get the Note 10.1" or Tab 11.3" tablet. Since I do this for a living, it's all tax-deductible!

carrying an extra battery is a ridiculous concession to have to make. the stock samsung email app is excellent , except for the freaking nazi like security policy that comes along with it (much enter in a character, a letter and an number, on ever login , and no screen timeout optionality)
enhanced email is fantastic except it tears through battery life, which i suspect there are hacks to fix but i do not know what they are and i cant seem to find any...please help if you know this answer).
touchdown is good and better on battery life but i cant get it to sync with my g-notes calendar app, so i refuse to use two separate calendars.
sigh...

No it doesnt. The note calendar SUCKS. The internal Touchdown calendar is the best calendar I've ever seen on android.
Plus, if you want a good looking widget for the Touchdown calendar, try Pure Calendar widget

I've looked around the marketplace pretty extensively and haven't seen any IM clients that even come close to being as beautiful and usable as chomp is for texting. I'd love to see a gchat app that uses the same glossy bubbles. (I haven't tried the paid ones... I've always been against paying for an IM client, especially in this case where the phone already has a decent one, I just want a nicer looking one.)
Hi AIM has a virtual keypad and has bubbled convos. Its not very stable but its the closet to what your asking for.

Now that the backers are getting there smart watches I was thinking there should be a thread were to get apps and the sdk available to other users.
I would love to see KIK Messenger working and more clock faces to choose from.

Would it be possible to create an app that used a bluetooth headset as well to enable voice control w/ Google Now?

It is not possible to read any other alphabet other than the latin for now (I have the same problem with greek). I saw an app today made by a chinese or korean user (not sure) that pushed a translated message to the watch. Of course it used some data trafic to translate it via internet but it is a very good idea. I was wondering if there could be an app that automatically changed the greek characters to latin ones, the way they appear on a computer keyboard and then push the text/e-mail to the watch. Sadly, I have no idea of programming. If anyone knows how to do it, please do!

Mine is finally here. Amazing! I also have the Sony smartwatch. The Pebble is much better and easier to use. Pebble Notifier for Android is amazingly easy to use and all my wanted notification come to the watch now including Whatsapp and Chess Player.
Also loving the music remote function of the watch. Once selected it remains onscreen so changing a track can be done without looking at the watch.
I hope for the SDK more watch faces. I would like one with time, date and the current weather. I do hope that the coming apps for the watch works as the music remote app. I don't prefer a notificationcentre or something like that. The watch should remain simple.
i like this !!

Glance is nice but I prefer the Pebbler app on my android and the 91 Weather watch face. Great weather and info on the watch and seems to stay connected better than glance for me.
They sent me a free Pebble to play with. They have Plenty of Watchfaces at Pebble's Forums, you could check them out. +1 To the idea of having a thread seperate for all the Watchapps and Watchfaces.
Edit:
1- https://notesforpebble.com/ - This is a Notes App. You can Password protect all the notes. However, To save more than one note, you will need to buy it. A Nice App to Check out.
2- Google 'Keep for Pebble'. It needs a rooted Android, and it syncs All your google keep notes to your watch. An option if you don't want to pay for the one above but this one needs active bluetooth connection to view the notes while the first one does not require any bluetooth connection after installing.
And the Third and Final App(A Game Actually)- Koishiban! (Sukoban For Pebble). Check it out here (Still in Beta Stage so you will have to sugn up for testing on google+ which is free- http://forums.getpebble.com/discussion/6973/watch-app-android-beta-koishiban-sokoban-for-pebble-looking-for-beta-testers
Canvas is my favorite app, easy and powerful way to make custom watch faces. Right now my pebble displays the weather conditions & temperature with a dynamic icon as long as an animated row of missed calls, sms, & emails plus the battery percentage of my phone. oh yeah and the date&time
Canvas makes it super easy to do this.

I, personally, will be trying it out. I don't think there is any harm in giving it a go, if it's fluid and fast I don't see the problem. The only thing I can say in regards to it not being released on the One, is possibly HTC's secrecy over the device. I highly doubt HTC would want to risk a full-device leak, though we had plenty during development probably just doesn't support 1080P, as it's not on the DNA either.

Facebook have teamed up with Qualcomm to optimize and make the launcher much more power efficient. It should use minimum RAM and minimum battery when operating on a Qualcomm device, which is the HTC One .
Stop hating people, you have a choice weather you get it or not. This is Android, not iOS.
@jaaystott I totally agree with you
I dont understand whats with this hate of FB apps: ok i get you dont use FB, you dont like being ''spied'' by the FBI etc but i am talking about a new development here
is hybrid between an app and a OS..it could bring improvements or not, thats to find out
also im pretty sure 90% of the one's yelling they dont use fb or will download, will at a point download it and try it....lets face it, and stop being so precious
There has been a lot of work involved in developing this hybrid and the fact that they choose HTC to deploy it, should mean we will get the best of it
of course no one is forcing you to use it or try it, but dont make everyone who is curios or wants to try it - feel like they are somewhat weird
I am very interested to try to lockscreen, because lockscreens on android are horrible. yes there are so many themes and cool looking ones.. but functionality wise, they alls suck! why iOS shows all notifications from all apps i choose and then i can just open the ones i like. on android its a mixed experience. some apps shows. some dont.. (gmail doesnt for example). Facebook seems to solved this problem by merging all notification on their homescreen and make it more useful.
I really want to try it, and like the idea, although, in the downloadable version, it will block android notifications (sms, email, apps), which i personally think is a stupid idea, so in order to get it at any realistically usable level, we'd need a port of the first's rom.
http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2013/04/facebook-home-download-ignores-androids-notifications/
Blinkfeed surely is enough. It's bad enough on there
'Just ate a curry yum yum'
Or watch this it's hillarious type crap

1. Got the HTC One from AT&T yesterday. Though I don't take too many pics with my phone, but i still wanted a phone which could take atleast half decent pics. And with HTC One, I'm terribly disappointed with the pics. My old iPhone 4 had much much muchhh better picture quality than One!
I'm surprised how this camera is compared to Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 when iPhone 4 takes better pics than this!
I donno if I'm missing some setting, as of now I'm using the cam with all default settings (Scene mode-Normal, etc).
2. Coming from an iPhone, another most important "loss in quality" feature is mail/gmail app! I'm shocked to see how ultra crappy gmail app is on android! I can't believe that Google was not able to build a half decent mail app for android.
I was trying the Mail app of HTC and when I configured my mail as Gmail, it din't send me the push notifications. When I tried to configure as Microsoft Exchange, it kept giving me some "Please try again later" error. Also, the mails were only displaying text and no images (despite selecting 'Maximum Size' in receive mail settings), kinda reminded me of my 10 year old Sony Ericsson phone which used to display mails without any images.
3. Why can't i take pics using volume keys?!
After almost 2 days of usage, these are some of the MAJOR quirks and I hope can be solved.
I actually looked at your two other posts on XDA and I don't *think* you're trolling. I think you just don't like how some of your first few pictures came out. And some other stuff. You know, coming from iOS to Android is going to take some adjustment generally- instead of rushing to XDA to post a thread about 'I'm overwhelmed with how much this sucks' maybe just take one thing at a time.
Anyway, as for the camera, a) be specific with what you don't like [ie maybe it's just you] and b) did you check software version [ie maybe it's just the software]. Everyone seems to think the camera got better with version 1.29 . If you've already got that, not sure what to tell you. If everything's functioning as intended and you still hate it, return it. Life is too short to hate your phone.

Re. #2:
You can download the gmail app from the play store if you don't like the built in htc mail app...
I find that the HTC mail app out classes the mail app for iOS by a long shot. I hated the mail app. On iOS. I never liked the Gmail app on either platform though.
Also you have to be joking about the iPhone 4 having better picture quality. I've done many test shots between the two and the iPhone 4 produces so much noise it's insane, sucks in low light, and even didn't get as much detail as say photos. Don't know how you are even getting remotely close results with the iPhone 4.

Anybody actually use Evernote?
There are free apps that do as good or better job such as Google Keep.
Does not even the Samsung bloatware package have a note taking app?
But there is the Gear App for Evernote, do you use it and Evernote?
Why?
I use evernote.. specially for the task on it. Helps me a lot to tick the task..

evernote, that over 100 mb (on windows) notepad with pictures and checklist? no thanks.
i'd rather use TickTick and bluetooth tethering to use it for my tasks..
normally i use keep on other devices, but i doubt keep will work on gear, as we have to use our gmail accounts.
Yep use it to sync S-Notes. Great to have Gear support for other notes and checklists
Evernote is fantastic.. Use it a lot for work.
I use Evernote everyday. Its an essential part of my workflow.
Im a photojournalist and have been using Evernote to take notes on all the assignments/photos I take for around 4 years and its just awesome.
The key is to make sure that you create many notebooks so that the content is well organized.
The only other app that I use is OneNote which is fantastic in a different way.
Evernote on the Gear is actually quite functional (but limiting at the same time)
Its really easy for me, when Im processing the photos I shot, to just take a peek at names in the Evernote Gear app.
Besides that, Evernote is also great when used in conjunction with the Chrome clip extension on desktop, or EverClip app on Android, to grab stuff you want to check out later from the web.
The only other app that I use regularly (and there is an app on Gear) is Pocket. I use Pocket because it gives me the ability of having my phone read me the story while I drive. Thanks to the Gear app you can access the particular story you sent to Pocket from your browser real easily.
Hope that gives you a little more info.
I use evernote constantly for everything. Very useful for deeply complex tasks which require note taking in order to close off. If you ever try to tackle something that seems overwhelming, try using something like evernote. Just break it into parts, brainstorm around those parts, and do excessive note taking. Review your notes frequently. It'll help your brain figure it out.
I'm sure Google Keep is just as good, I haven't really had a chance to use it.
Still, give evernote a chance! It's free! And monoculture sucks...
I was an original beta for Evernote. Frankly I subscribe to the premium and like the new two stage security authorization they just added. The S-Note integration is useful. Making lists that work on the watch is a bonus. It's utility comes from the simplicity of getting all kinds of information in and out of it quickly - you have to develop good tagging habits (and the premium OCR of scanned documents, PDF's etc. is worth the premium). Searching is quick and making notebooks and favorites are key. The power is the cross-platform sync (in my case - Note 3, macbook pro at home and HP AIO at the office).
Developing drawbacks are the usual... As the service becomes more popular the complementary, symbiotic products hype is becoming very pervasive. They added the "market" and though most of the products "could be useful" (like scanners, pens, elephant branded stuff), the constant "Announcement" alerts and product pitch emails are ANNOYING. Perhaps the suits have taken over and they don't get it or don't care. Perhaps I'm (40+ and) not in the key demographic anymore. Anyhow i's the only bad thing. Suits aside the engineers seem to keep trying to making the service better. I use it constantly all day to lookup stuff I need, both personal and business.
Yes I use Evernote,
I don't need the paid version.
The only thing it really misses is a dark/ inverted theme for at night.
I use it all the time since I bought a livescribe wifi (great for meetings and conferences. I wish I had this when I was in college). Love that it automatically sync with evernote and can pull up anytime to recall.

Yea I was thinking the same thing but the paper isn't that much more expensive. Please, you can print out the paper as well. If you take a lot of notes, then it's definitely worth it. There's a new one that came out that connects through BT and connects to an iOS app. But an android is coming out soon. However, i like the idea of pulling the notes and recording from the cloud.
