Hi all,
I have a Motorola Droid 2 A955. In fact, it stopped to recognize touch screen. So I can't even unlock it I have tried soft restet, hard reset, clean the glass with alcohol but without success. Is there a solution for this touch screen issue? How could I solve it? Maybe if I replace the digitizer or the screen, does it will work again?

Hello there, this is the order of the day...
Just when I'm about to sell this phone (going for an Inspire) which has gave me a great service -but for the bootloader issue- this morning when I wake up, I tried to unlock the screen and no reponse.
Last night I just leave the phone on the desk and remain untouched, no damage no nothing, just the touchscreen stopped responding.
I just did a factory reset through the recovery console since I can not access the software and it seems to not help. Still no touch screen.
The phone is pristine, was rooted but not further mods and still with eclair.
Is there anyway to determine whether this is a hardware problem or software problem?
How to unlock the screen using the keyboard or buttons combination?
Is there any common hardware issues related with the touchscreen on this phone? Since it has the slide thing I assume it might have few but I barely use the physical keyboard so I'm lost.
Any help/input highly appreciated.
Hi,
On my MDA compact IV I have te recalibrate my screen often.
When I have calibrated the screen, it can be I have to recalibate it after 2 or 3 houres. If I dont calibrate it again I get problems, for example if I touch on a send button on the screen It tries to call someone because the call button is below the send button...even sometimes it doesnt even respond at all....
In this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1001105 I saw there is a reg edit possible for the calibration of the screen, but its for another phone (touch HD). Does anyone know if there's a regedit for the mda compact to solve this weird problem? Or do I need to replace some parts of the phone?
Greetings.
Hi,
This also happened to me. I had to recalibrate it more and more often until the touchscreen died completely. I've bought the touchscreen and LCD together on ebay are replaced the screen. Beware - do not buy digitizer only, the digitizer and lcd are glued together, and one can not remove touch screen without breaking LCD.
Cheers
Tomek
Okay.
Here I go.
I have an HTC TyTN II which has NO ROM modifications.
I did a clear storage (because I wanted a 'clean' start on my phone as I had clunked it up) and got stuck on the screen align loop.
So I used Remote Screen Align to skip the screen alignment.
It worked.
But now my touch screen is badly messed up!
I tested it with the game pocketsand. If i touch somewhere on the screen, it responds somewhere else.
How do you fix this??? Can someone please help me out here?
Thanks in advance.
Nvm phone got destroyed
lower part of my screen became unresponsive and ive been not able to unlock my screen because of it. Is this a digitizer problem or will it get back to normal by just doing hard reset?
Hello!
I bought a very cheap streak 7 from a guy saying it is bricked... It was stuck at Dell logo and kept restarting, Entered recovery mode, did factory reset it it works fine.
second problem with it was, it had broken screen (not LCD, only touch digitizer). Being broken it still worked fine.
few days ago I bought new digitizer, changed it, and now only 1/4 part of the touch screen works... I dont know, maybe digitizer itself is not working properly, but I cannot confirm that untill I have performed calibration.
So does anyone has any idea how to calibrate dell streak 7 screen
I tried:
did a factory reset - nothing
recovery screen - does not have that option
fastboot screen does not have that option
android display settings - nothing
Spent couple of hours googling around and still nothing. I read somewhere that after android update calibration option disapeared from recovery screen, so is there any chance I can downgrade to stock rom maybe?
please help
thanks!
There is no way to calibrate the screen.
So it could be the new screen is faulty?
