A friend of mine lost his sensation XL and phoned up his phone company to have the phone locked, after doing this he found his phone ... is there any way to un-bar the phone quickly? The bootloader is already unlocked im wondering if flashing a custom ROM onto the phone would work .. although i doubt that, Does anyone know a quick easy method to unbar/unblock the phone?
Thanks in advance.

If he has reported it stolen and received a replacement/refund. The phone is now owned by the insurance company and any attempt to unbar it is fraud. If he hasnt received a replacement, he can unbar it by calling his network provider.

Just got mine today, traded in the Galaxy s2 as I fell in love with the screen on the XL. The single core processor still handles the jobs I use the phone for but now I can squint a little less.
One issue, I have been unable to find a sim unlock code as yet. Most online services I have tried say they don't have the IMEI on their databases.
Anyone have any suggestions for getting it unlocked? I need to use 2 different SIMs to get coverage at both home and work!
What network did you get it with or was it an upgrade via CPW or P4U (in UK)?

just got a confirmation from this site that they can unlock
http://www.unlockdata.co.uk/index.asp
It was an upgrade from O2.
I tried the site you suggested but they don't have a record of the IMEI yet.
I have been waiting for O2 to offer the unlock key (which they do for free) but they refused cause my SIM hasn't been in the phone yet! Problem is, no coverage at home. I just drove out of town with the SIM in the phone and did some texts and gonna try O2 again... It's so frustrating.
That is annoying, especially for O2, they were really good with me back in the day,,,, lets see how Orange do now
O2 have now accepted that I am using the phone and have said that they have to get the unlock key from the Manufacturer which could take a few days.... Oh well, a few days without calls/text won't hurt I suppose. It would be better if it could be unlocked like the Galaxy range tho. Can't wait for some decent ROMs without all the HTC guff.
anyone know where to unlock???
Received unlock code from O2 this morning. 7 days, but no charge!

They should be able to sort you an unlock code (at a cost) but @lucasex is your phone brand spanking new on brand new contract? or have you been with O2 before etc?

its a shame ive just pay 449£
They unlock a contract phone free at anytime but with pay and go its gotta be 12 months before they unlock and they charge.
just got my unlock code from O2 free of cost, was ordered on saturday
Unlockdata don't stock the code so don't use them yet also beware of others that say they do. Mobileunlocked is also very good so check them too. So many unlock scams online these days its unreal

well i tried the free unlock solution posted in the sensation forum and my code was not on my phone...............got the imei number with date above it LOL. oh well at least i checked. temp root turned perma root using evo3d temp root method.
Why not email the developer on sensation forums and ask him to check your files, He will need you to upload a few but i believe he can do it
Guys,
Apologies, I am new to HTC and could not find in this section any solution for SIM unlocking the HTC for FREE.
If anyone knows a tool or instruction on how to do this? Could you please drop me a personal message or reply to this thread for everybody's benefit?
Please don't offer online services which require a payment.
Thanks

It can't be done without paying. Not untill we get S-Off anyway.

Vodafone Australia offers to unlock the phone for free. Not sure about Germany, call them and let them you're going overseas and see what they can do about it.

Hey Everyone, just picked up a Raider second hand, and everything is working fine. However the phone is rooted with s-off, and I am looking at returning it to stock. Question is, how do I know if its originally At&t or Rogers? Its running dark raider as far as I can tell, and it has an at&t update option, but im not sure if that is only there because of the custom rom on it. I understand the steps for the most part about unrooting, but want to make sure I load the proper RUU so I dont end up bricking it and have to go back to my iPhone. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
As far as I know at&t puts it on the face of every phone it carries. I'm not sure if Rodgers does the same. I know my vivid has at&t right under the grill for the ear piece above the screen.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty sure its Rogers just found an oonline warranty checker with Rogers and I plugged the imei in and it gave back warranty info on the phone. I might give thrm a call to confirm tonight.

Only using pay website.
Well, I am actually a bit confused now!
I read something some time ago (I think on the htcsensationforum) that if you change the phone's network settings to GSM (only), then turn off the phone and insert a different SIM, it would work. So, my phone it's eMobile branded and after following those steps, I was able to receive a call on my phone with a another SIM from Three (different provider).
If it worked with Three network, it should work with all the others :fingers-crossed:
I wonder if anyone else has also tried that.

Three is ONLY wcdma network based. or there something is totaly changed.
In UK is verry simple 1.19 punds on ebay and HTC unlocked in 5 minutes from buying code. I have unlocked 2 sxl, 1 One X and 1 One S - simple, cheap and quick. I recommend seller "phone.market" i unlocked from those guys- their system is automated and u get code in couple seconds in your email.

Hi guys
I have a black Australian unlocked Telstra HTC One, but there is no sign of any OTA's from Telstra any time soon...
I am wanting to flash a WWE RUU on to it so that I am not carrier restricted
Am I able to flash an Asian WWE RUU over the Telstra one? Has anyone done this yet?
I'm not exactly experienced in the world of Android HTC and their various flashing methods, but would flashing via the RUU be any different to rooting your phone and flashing another custom or stock ROM?
I only say this because my Telstra HTC One was rooted after I bought it and it is now running a custom ROM flashed via CWM recovery and no longer has any Telstra branding.
Edit: I now understand where you are coming from now. I wouldn't have thought you could flash an original ROM based on another phone CID and I can't imagine being able to change your CID without first unlocking the bootloader which kind of defeats the original purpose as you'll end up with a "tampered" phone one way or another.
You can do it but you'll need to change your CID to match the RUU you're going to run.
I'm not sure if you're able to do this with only boatloader unlock any more.

Dang... Oh well, I'll see if I like the HTC1 first, then decide on grabbing a black one from Expansys or Kogan when they have the international unbranded quickly updated versions.. Waiting for updates from Telstra is like men having babies - not happening anytime soon
any luck?

hey man, any luck finding a HTC One Telstra RUU yet? I'm in the same boat. ive been waiting 6 months and still no RUU, been emailing and calling HTC loads and nobody is bothering to help or care. I dont need the RUU, but its good to have just in case.
The only decent piece of info ive managed to get was about HTC Australia authorized repair center.
So basically the company that do repairs in Aus are FoneBiz. They told me today when i called them, that even if you have rooted/unlocked bootloader etc, they will try their best to do an In-Warranty service, but if their system wont recognize the phone, then it'll be an Out of Warranty service.
The Good news is that since the HTC One is pretty much unrepairable, as far as being able to actually get into the handset, is that FoneBiz will just do a full handset replacement. In-Warranty its obviously free, but Out of Warranty is only around $280. So essentially you get a brand new HTC One for less than $300.
So anyone with a Telstra handset who has broken/bricked HTC One, at least you know you can get a brand new replacement for under $300, possibly even free!
