Hey Everyone, just picked up a Raider second hand, and everything is working fine. However the phone is rooted with s-off, and I am looking at returning it to stock. Question is, how do I know if its originally At&t or Rogers? Its running dark raider as far as I can tell, and it has an at&t update option, but im not sure if that is only there because of the custom rom on it. I understand the steps for the most part about unrooting, but want to make sure I load the proper RUU so I dont end up bricking it and have to go back to my iPhone. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
As far as I know at&t puts it on the face of every phone it carries. I'm not sure if Rodgers does the same. I know my vivid has at&t right under the grill for the ear piece above the screen.

I have rogers raider there's no rogers on the face of the phone but 'with Google' at the back below the back cover.
at&t software update is part of the customized rom i believe
Thanks guys, I'm pretty sure its Rogers just found an oonline warranty checker with Rogers and I plugged the imei in and it gave back warranty info on the phone. I might give thrm a call to confirm tonight.

Hey, I live in Canada and I am with wind. I am really tempted to purchase the HTC one developer edition through a friend of mine. I know that it does not support the HSPA+ 1700Mhz network used by wind and TMO. However, the decive itself does. Would I be able to flash the TMO radio on it once they release the device, and just buy the developer edition beforehand? Just want to make sure that this would work.
People are saying that might be possible, but no one knows for sure until it has been done (not yet).

We're going to need S-Off for that and who knows when that will happen. And even then, no one really knows if it will work
Well, the developer edition will have s-off, or at least that's what I have heard. Getting the radio might be tricky, but knowing the devs on here someone will work it out. I was just wondering whether it would be physically feasible to get the missing frequency.

The dev. edition has unlocked bootloader... NOT s-off.
EDIT: No s-off confirmed by HTCdev twitter: https://twitter.com/htcdev/status/320021639762944001
OK, I guess I was wrong there. Still, after rooting my HTC hero in 2009, my sisters desire in 10, my lg p999 in 11, friends Samsung galaxy s2 in 12, I should be able to get my HTC one a new radio in a month or so, once everyone gets their hands on this awesome device.

Some of the later HTC devices, like my Amaze, only got S-Off by using a wire trick, which requires physical access to the inside of the phone (in the case of the Amaze, easily done by taking the back cover off). I wonder if S-Off will be possible on the One without physically disassembling it.
http://unlimited.io/juopunutbear.htm .... Step 3, wire trick, which is needed for the phones listed.
Has this been done before on other HTC devices? I've preordered the 64 gb developer edition but am having second thoughts.
The reason I ask is that I bought the International version of the Galaxy note 1 with the expectation that one of our very talented developers could hack the radio to make the Tmobile band active... and it turned out to be way more complicated than anyone gave it credit for. Still not done for that note 1.
I'd like to feel a little more comfortable that this can be done with the One.

it is interesting, should be an easy fix but here in canada the only provider that is worth paying for is WIND. For $40 you get unlimited, calls, texting and data. Everywhere else it is $60 for a gig or less. So, naturally I want to stick with my provider, the only bummer is that they use the HSPA+ networks, same as T-Mobile.
The unlocked phone also cost $250 more here for some weird reason.
I don't think it will be possible, I'm sure I read that the alternative frequencies burnt off the driver chip. It might have been in the Anandtech review.
Just contacted HTC, got this as an answer ot the S-off of the Developer edition.
"Thanks for contacting HTC Technical Support Center.
Dear Balint, I am glad to know that you are a member of the HTC family and I will be more than happy to assist you.
Regarding the first question, your HTC One has the S-off."
so it is off, and have been confirmed.

I would like to know as well.
I flashed the T-Mobile radio last week and don't get HSPA on 1700MHZ. I continue to get LTE and I still get HSPA on the refarmed towers. How do I know? I have an older T-Mobile branded phone that I can compare against. At home I get nothing better than EDGE on my Developer Edition One but I get HSPA on my other phone (T-Mobile branded). If I travel down the road a little ways I get LTE and HSPA on the One.
BTW, there are a TON of threads in this and the other One forums that are discussing the T-Mobile radio on the Developer Edition One and it seems the consensus is that you need to change your CID and, to do that, you need S-OFF. MobileTechVideos.com has supposedly gotten S-OFF with a JTAG rig and, a little more tecently, without using a wire. Check their Facebook page for that info -- http://www.facebook.com/pages/MobileTechVideos/182579981788132
We have S-OFF!
Time to kickstart this discussion back up now that S-OFF is in our hands. Thanks to Revolutionary.

:good: to this! If anyone needs a guinea pig to test with, I have a newly s-off'ed Dev Edition in a non refarmed rural area. Just have no idea when it comes to software hacks as I'm mainly a hardware hacker/hobbyist. I miss the 3G I had with my One S, but I'm loving the 64 gigs on the One!
Hi guys
I have a black Australian unlocked Telstra HTC One, but there is no sign of any OTA's from Telstra any time soon...
I am wanting to flash a WWE RUU on to it so that I am not carrier restricted
Am I able to flash an Asian WWE RUU over the Telstra one? Has anyone done this yet?
I'm not exactly experienced in the world of Android HTC and their various flashing methods, but would flashing via the RUU be any different to rooting your phone and flashing another custom or stock ROM?
I only say this because my Telstra HTC One was rooted after I bought it and it is now running a custom ROM flashed via CWM recovery and no longer has any Telstra branding.
Edit: I now understand where you are coming from now. I wouldn't have thought you could flash an original ROM based on another phone CID and I can't imagine being able to change your CID without first unlocking the bootloader which kind of defeats the original purpose as you'll end up with a "tampered" phone one way or another.
You can do it but you'll need to change your CID to match the RUU you're going to run.
I'm not sure if you're able to do this with only boatloader unlock any more.

Dang... Oh well, I'll see if I like the HTC1 first, then decide on grabbing a black one from Expansys or Kogan when they have the international unbranded quickly updated versions.. Waiting for updates from Telstra is like men having babies - not happening anytime soon
any luck?

hey man, any luck finding a HTC One Telstra RUU yet? I'm in the same boat. ive been waiting 6 months and still no RUU, been emailing and calling HTC loads and nobody is bothering to help or care. I dont need the RUU, but its good to have just in case.
The only decent piece of info ive managed to get was about HTC Australia authorized repair center.
So basically the company that do repairs in Aus are FoneBiz. They told me today when i called them, that even if you have rooted/unlocked bootloader etc, they will try their best to do an In-Warranty service, but if their system wont recognize the phone, then it'll be an Out of Warranty service.
The Good news is that since the HTC One is pretty much unrepairable, as far as being able to actually get into the handset, is that FoneBiz will just do a full handset replacement. In-Warranty its obviously free, but Out of Warranty is only around $280. So essentially you get a brand new HTC One for less than $300.
So anyone with a Telstra handset who has broken/bricked HTC One, at least you know you can get a brand new replacement for under $300, possibly even free!

I haven't owned an HTC phone since the Evo and needless to say, quite a bit has changed. I'm hoping to turn my T-Mobile One into the Dev edition and I'm just wondering about the positives and negatives. I'm assuming all future updates on the Dev edition would come directly from HTC correct? Also, will my LTE or any other features be negatively affected if I make this change? Lastly, would the entire phone be wiped during this process?
Thanks for the assistance. I still gotta read up on this SuperCid stuff.

Bought an Htc One off craigslist. Guy said he tried flashing it to work on boost mobile didn't work so he was selling it. Took it to sprint to activate, employee tells me since it was flashed the esn had to be recertified and could take up 24 hours. Was messing with the phone later that night and tried to make a call and it went to Verizon customer service. I believe this phone is an Htc One for sprint but don't have a definitive way of checking. Also not sure what steps I need to take to get it back on sprints network. Any help would be appreciated.
Boot into the bootloader and there should be a barcode option or something.. the esn stuff is there..

It can't be done. AT&T uses a different radio tech than what Sprint does so you might mess up your phone doing it.

any other ideas

There is no way to use a CDMA phone on a gsm network no way at all and to flash a at&t ROM on a phone that is not at&t will cause a brick and will be a pain in the ass to fix my best advice is to sell your phone and by a at&t phone so you can use in h2o because there is no way to do what you are trying to do

Actually this phone has a SIM card capable of running on At&t if unlocked. If u want to use gsm only I think u can go to mobile network and set it to gsm/umts only. As far as flashing another devices Rom/Ruu your just asking for a brick since the mounts are completely different causing a brick

sorry i wasn't trying to be rude im just very frustrated in trying to get this to work lol
I did the following:
SuperCID to 111111
S-OFF using Revone
HTC One Simunlock from viperboy and set it to WCDMA preferred
I did upgrade to 4.2.2 but in order to use the GSM part of the phone you have to use the the oldest radio I can't remember 1.29 something
Down part:
GSM signal keeps disconnecting
Will have voice and text but no data
Everytime the phone reboots you have to keep resetting the APN
Have to keep searching for the Network
I have flashed a T-mobile RUU and a AT&T RUU and the only options they get greyed out are the options to choose what network you would like. Word of advice if the antenna is originally CDMA leave it with CDMA because it really does have some really bad issues with connecting to GSM towers. I was using MetroPCS which uses T-mobile towers but I just flashed my phone to metro and I have a solid signal all day long with no drops I just did not have MMS.
I hope that helps
No worry bro I understand unfortunately I have no idea on that you should just be able to switch over to gsm but if that's not working I have no idea
