Now lets have at this and get some over-clocked under-volted kernels up!
I know bro!!!! I was pumped when I saw Cyanogen comment on twitter that new source code was up I ran over to the HTC site and there it was...the beautiful source code lol
Just in case by some freak of nature something happened to the link I downloaded the source code already lol I have no clue what to do with it I'll just hold on to it for safe keeping.

Great news! Been waiting forever for this and a new hydra kernel.

best news ever. been waiting! glad I checked the forum before going to bed
hell yeah!
Amazing news! I love CyanogenMod but certain limitations kept me from using it, so I switched to sky raider. Anxious to go back to CM6 though. This and s_off soon made my day.
Thank you, devs, for all the amazing work you all put into this phone!
Awesome news. Thanks for the post!

basically with this we can now have some great stuff going on
1. CM6 will most likely fully support our phone now
2. we can have UV/OC kernels, which allow our cpu to be faster, while not using as much battery (theoretically)
3. whatever else the awesome devs out there can come up with
4. ???????
5. Profit (of course)

Do a quick Google search for Hyda kernel
Hydra kernels for 2.1 were great, undervolting increased battery life. There are also undervolt overclocked kernels as well from hyda.
If you are running 2.2 don't install a 2.1 kernel.
It is cool that the kernel source is out now, more goodies on the way!

While definitely good news, the bad news is that it's the kernel source from the first Froyo leak (7/27), not our current 8/1 version.
Will this help in any way to help fully unlock nand?

They might not have updated the kernel between the two versions.
My kernel-fu is weak, or this source blows. Probably the first.
I am merely disabling perflock and compiling. The kernel works, wifi works, and all that, but when the screen powers off, it comes back to a black screen with a lit white line at the top.
*Sigh*
I have been researching roms for the lg revolution, and im almost positive that the bootloader is unlocked but i haven't been able to find a kernel that fits my needs/wants. I have already backed up the stock rooted rom and backed up all my gfs apps with titanium backup. I would like a rom thats asop, and a kernal that is in between 300 and 1000mhz and undervolted like crazy because my girlfriends phone dies in like 10 mins. I am coming from a droidx and ogdroid where im an expert so this phone is new territory for me.
Anyone have any ideas?
Welcome to Revo land.. you should get with MTMichaelson on here, he is our only actual developer but has done a lot for this phone including our first oc/uv kernel. Check out the dev section here. Also IRC freenode #lgrevolution

There are no ROMs for the Revolution that are AOSP. The only kernel we have is overclocked at 1500 by default. The kernel is undervolted though.

I'm not sure if anyone seen this but opensource.motorola.com posted the D4's kernel.
Here is the link:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/droid4.motorola/files/DROID4_VZW/
Hopefully this might help us in the long run.
i dont think this will help us unlock the bootloader, but it should make the ROMs that hashcode is working on run more smoothly
Right on, thanks for the heads up! Been fiddling with Jelly Bean, patching together bits and pieces from the RAZR sources that were released not too long ago; obviously this is more appropriate.
Not to mention getting proper overclocking kernel modules working...

I asked over there for both, but they didn't say. I'm going to assume GB for right this second, since it says DR4_M1-215. Hopefully if it's only GB that we can get the ICS Kernel soon.
I've been using Codename ever since it came out but I got tired of the problems related to the Kernel and switched to ProjectX. I and I'm sure others really want to use a smooth and working JB ROM.
Is there anyone working on the 3.0 Kernel for our device? I know Nik said he contacted someone to help us out but there's been no news on that front yet.
If anyone knows how to modify Kernels, Adi_pat gave some tips here -

He'll probably help us out if we make some progress in booting up Codename with it at least

Upon the exit of JB roms ago, were used GB modified kernel, now with source code maybe will be possible to compile a fully working kernel, but afaik there are no 3.x kernel for JB, maybe someone is working out of xda on irc channel but don't known..
Sadly I do not have much competence, plus I don't have the phone it's to repair....
There is kernel 3 for incredible 2 and desire s..may be someone can port it..

Off the top of my head I seem to recall Noverbose saying he was trying to write a 3.0 Kernel. I also remember at least one other person mentioning something similar to, so there are people working on this. From what I understand it's not easy - I doubt we'll see anything this side of Christmas tbh. I hadn't realised that the Inc 2 and DS had a 3.0 Kernel though. Anyone know if they are actually a made from source version, rather than the same hacked version that we have in Codename, for example?
Well tbh honest a working GB kernel would do too.
Like the front camera and chrome and screen flickering etc.

Yes those 3.0 kernels are compiled from source. I checked out AOSP ROM threads in the Desire S and Inc 2 section that had 3.0 kernel, then looked up the creator of the ROM on github and found the sources. I was going to try tackle the 3.0 kernel to get a hang of the make system before building CM9, but I don't have enough monthly data left to download the kernel toolchain! Nov 1st is close, so I can get to work soon! :highfive:
The best way to build an AOSP 3.0 kernel for our device would probably be to look at the source code for 3.0 kernels on our sister devices, and figure it out from there.

Well holy crap, dude, get on that! Seriously though, getting a working 3.0 kernel for our device would go a long way to making JB a usable ROM for our device. Would it be possible to port JellyTime or a similar JB ROM to our device as well?
The source doesn't need changing, it is the ramdisk that is the problem. I have been trying to get help, but so far no luck, adi_pat said he would take a look, but it is hard for me to test as I no longer have an inc s

I'm gonna worry mainly about compiling CM9 from source once November hits, that's gonna take up the majority of my time. After I get the first release of CM9 out, I'll start work on a 3.0 kernel if it hasn't been done yet. I have no experience whatsoever dealing with kernels though, except for small ramdisk edits, so don't expect any miracles.
It should be possible to port other JB ROM's over using one of nik's ported JB ROM's as a base and reference point, the only problem is I don't know exactly what files I have to substitute to port a ROM. I've PM'd nik about that a few hours ago, so hopefully I'll get some more information on the subject. Nik has been a big help to my dev efforts as a whole.

Interesting, if it's only the ramdisk that needs changing, couldn't you look at the ramdisk from one of niks JB ROM's? Or is it not as simple as that? I'm assuming the latter, seeing as if it were that obvious I'm sure someone would've done it by now. If you ever need help testing, send me a PM I'd be more than willing to test for you.

About using one of Nik's JB roms as a reference
What I understood was that the rom has been built around the old 2.6.x kernel and has to be modified again to work with the 3.0.x kernel, if you guys get one up and running. If that is the case, wouldn't you be going down the wrong path if you model it around nik's existing 2.6.x roms?
We need kaijura here, he was our AOSP kernel master. Hopefully he is doing ok, and has found something else other than xda because he hasn't been online for months. At least other devs, like lordclokan and kali- have moved on and are active with other devices... kaijura hasn't been on at all. Anyone been in contact with him/her?

I know, it would be going down a pretty redundant path. If I was able to port over a JB ROM using nik's ROM's as a base, then my ported ROM would inherit all the same bugs nik's ROM's already have.
I wish kaijura was still around, I have so many questions I want to ask about compiling from source! Luckily lordclokan was a massive help to me in that regard. Kaijura's github hasn't seen action in months either, sadly.
Forgive my ignorance, but isn't the Desire HD essentially our device with a bigger screen and less memory? That being the case, could we not just port across one of the 3.0 Kernels from that?
The problem with the ramdisk that come with the official ROM's that have 3.0 kernels, is that they are built for the sense framework and don't work on AOSP ROM's. The ram disk that is included with Nik's JB ROM's is heavily modified to run a GB kernel with ICS / JB sources, so the problem is I don't have a base to work from, I am basically trying to merge the two init's to make the 3.0 kernel boot.
Saying that we need to port 3.0 kernel is probably a bit misleading, and for that I apologise, the kernel itself has very little Sense specific stuff, it's the ramdisk that is responsible for launching the kernel that is the issue here at the moment.
The only problem with the desire HD kernel would be that our front camera would not work

Ok so 2.6.35 works with Jellybean. Why not pack the ramdisk with zImage compiled from 3.0.y sources(Considering you are using standard boot.img format[?]) Because to get it to boot, you would not require any hacks/changes to source, editing ramdisk(init.rc) is enough to make it boot initally.
EDIT: You may also need to change init binary.

As we knows guys, our device not getting firmware update from official, and we cant get stable firm/OS/ROM till now
Just inform to you all,,
All we need is new KERNEL for step up on developments, not new ROM or anything else
Even we get new lib,new bin for ROM,we will alwats get stuck without new KERNEL
Sorry I just say, cant doing anything
But I suggest to all, think about port/backport KERNEL,not port ROM
For me,its very useless if we always think for new ROM without new KERNEL
so,this topic minds is
ALL WE NEED FOR MOVE OUT AND STEP UP IS "NEW KERNEL" VERSION

Bcoz 2.6.35.14 will help us to have many more roms for our device.

Dont know what is mean with "2.3.8" as we know higher version GB is 2.3.7
Maybe, thats which make it cant boot

35.14 can take backport kernel 3.x.x architecture
I also saw kernel 2.6.66.7 on galaxy ace 4.2.1 alpha

I think it is too late now. If we were able to raise the sum in time then randomblame would surely have helped us, he is a very good developer. Besides him i had asked to dzo, doomlord, lord clockan they also said that they are busy.
If you are still interested in the bounty idea, then i suggest you contact some developer (May be edowar) and ask him for help. As i have already informed that randomblame had turned down the proposal and tj_style did not reply, it is upto someone from you who has to take a lead. I can transfer the entire bounty amount to any senior member. Please advice before i start refunding by the next month for sure.
PS Thanks to everyone of this board particularly the devs/porters/modders/testers. I owe you more than what i can put in words.

hi CK n aben. yeah, you have no life if doing that. lol
btw, can you two put your kernel source to the github? and device config maybe, GB based will be better. just want to try build cyanmobile. but cant test myself, so stable config+kernel can help me to fixing bug without device. hehe
@nayneshdev so,,are planning to repair your Mi-410?
Honestly,I dont have any idea for that,,since all devs get busy like CK,ardx, aben, and TJ
Also our friends like elol, zuk, and many, sory if I forget them dissapear from this forum

It is a damage beyond repair, screen crushed, board broken into pieces even the sim crushed, a construction truck ran over it, i don't know how it got damaged that bad, previously it was touch enough to withstand many falls, must have been a very bad position.
Personally i think devs should concentrate on fixing the issues with the present kernel and tj_style for sure can fix the camera issue. So it would be better if someone asks to tj_style whether he is willing to do development if we provide him a device.
Hi ardx /aben/ CK
Tj style has shared his kernel 2.6.35.14 source on GIT Hub.
Can you guys built it for our device
Thanks in advance
