Has anyone with an unlocked HTC HD7 on ATT recieved the pre NoDo update?
I've got the T-Mobile HD7 unlocked as well, no update.
As far as I know, no HD7's from T-Mobile have the update. You're allowed to update the device without a sim card and so I don't think unlocking the phone makes a difference. It's all based on the IMEI which links the phone to the carriers in Microsoft's database.
Okay Im seriously in the brink of throwing my phone to the garbage. I really got hooked on HD7 cuz of the commercials. I had a blackberry and a my touch3g before HD7. There are tons of features missing like custom ringtones and I would at least would love to have that on my HD7. Don't get me wrong I sorta like my phone and all but key features are lacking. Is there some way to have them enabled? I have the NODO update released by Tmobile. Or a ROM I can install to my HD7?
Also any word on the Andoid OS development on HD7?
PS. Is there any tutorial on how to flash the ROM or hack?

NOTE: You need to Unlock your device...
... I have googled it before posting this thread but apparently chevron does not work with the NODO or am I wrong?
Yes chevron doesnt work with NODO!

I have hd7s from att what must do to be able to add side apps
Chevron your phone, apply the fix to stop it re-locking, then apply the NoDo update and it remains unlocked.

Exactly what i did. I had NoDo with locked phone, Flashed a 7008 Rom, locked the phone, prevented it from Relocking and then applied NoDo. My phone's now on NoDo and still unlocked.
Hum that i didnt know, thank you for the info ;-)

Hi,
I recently got an xperia z from my parents contract. They have filled out the unlock sim form. This was important as i will be travelling for a year next month.
I was just wondering if i will have problems updating the phone with a different non o2 sim card in the phone? I know nothing about mobile phones and my friend is telling me that even though the phone will be unlocked it will still be an o2 phone and i will need to get updates from o2. If this is true then will this mean i wont be able to get updates eg 4.2 when im in a different country using a non o2 sim?
Thanks,
Phil.
You won't have any problems, unless your bootloader is unlocked. Even so you can flash stock roms with flashtool or the new sony flash tool.
Unlocking the phone only deactivates the SIM lock - nothing else. Updating the phone will be exactly the same as before.

Sorry, but this is my first smart phone. I have never had an update. Will it just be using pc companion?
I ask because my friend says that i will have to wait for o2 to release updates for my phone as it will be running an o2 version of the software. He seems to think that this will cause be problems when abroad as i need to be in the UK to receive updates?. If this is the case, can i not just download the updates through o2 on my laptop when abroad? Tbh i just want my phone stock but up to date.
Until now i have not had the new update. Pc companion and the sony website both say that i am up to date, even though i am running .350.

As far as i know sony doesn't do OTA, so yes only trough the companion
At the moment I am unable to get the new update via pc companion or through the sony website. They both say my phone is up to date.
Is this because i have to wait for an o2 branded update? If so, does anybody know how i will receive it?
I am a little worried now that I will be unable to receive updates to my phone when I am travelling whilst keeping it stock.

You could flash a FW from the country you will be travelling to (if it's available there yet) or you could flash a generic from the country of your choice, NL and DE seem to be the quickest to get updates. The updates in future will come over the internet via PC Companion irrespective of the SIM card you have. Just ring your original provider and ask them to remove the sim lock because you travel a lot.
Hi,
I'm new to the community, and I registered for XDA because I haven't been able to find the answer to this question so far.
If I unlocked my AT&T HTC One using an unlock code I bought online, and now I am using it for T-mobile, will I receive the AT&T updates or the T-Mobile updates? Or neither? If neither, how can I receive the updates without rooting and flashing firmware?
Removing the SIM lock does not change how you receive updates.
You'll get the AT&T update.
HTC One won't update

I've tried to scan for the updates, but nothing shows up. I even tried setting the time to October 9th, when the update was released for At&t. Do you have any suggestions?

You wont be able to unless it is connected to the Verizon network for it to push the update to you.
