[Q] Odin bootloader not working

I have a Moto X that got the 5.1 OTA update. I is sorta bricked... I can get to the boot menu (can't ever seem to get it to go to the recovery screen). I can boot it up but all I have is the clock, and vibrations for notifications, and the "Power Off" pop up, other than that the screen is totally black. I have picture on it and other data that I would like to get, however, the phone did not have developer options or USB debugging turned on. I have tried a number of different things. I was hoping that I could use Odin to flash a recovery ROM to it and get into the phone that way. I have a recovery file, I have Odin, and I have a phone... still no luck though. Here is what Odin puts out:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> recovery.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)
Any thoughts anyone? Thanks for the help!
Stop doing anything to your phone before you break it, and go read the stickies on how to properly flash recovery.
odin is for samsung, not motorola !!!!!!!!!!!

Note 8 Firmwares

I've been trying to flash the TMobile newest firmware to my unlocked Verizon Note 8 but for some reason the flash didn't occur. It ends with the code:
all threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
And the installation never starts, is this normal? for VZW phones can i only flash n950U1 firmwares and VZW?

Should be able to...some times you need to perform a factory reset in recovery then back out to main recovery menu and select boot to bootloader then flash using Odin...AP, BL, CP, CSC, and USERDATA...

If no luck..try again from factory binary...in other words follow the switching carrier guide but with updated files...that should clean things up...then at step 25 pick XAA or carrier of choice...
