Hi
i am having issues...
ok so i had the latest JW4 installed rooted and all... so i use the ext4 and convert it to ext4, boot into cwm, clear cache, dalvik, data etc etc...
then i install aokp in cwm, it installs fine, same with gapps... then when i go to reboot a splash screen comes up with glitch kernel v14 ? then boot loops over and over and over...
what the hell am i doing wrong here.... im not new to this... i load ROMs like no tmw on my previous atrix, sgs2, now nexus... cannot get aokp on this i9000 to save my life...
any thoughts would be great...
Install the latest cm9 nightly first frm here... use the same process... let the phone boot once... then get into recovery and try aokp...
And i suggest u leave the phone on rfs... there is basically no need for ext4...

Hello.
I´m currently running CM7.1, and I wanted to flash the newest swiftextreme kernel for CM, but I get a black screen after the lg logo. I´m not sure if I´m doing it properly. Do I need to wipe cache or dalvik-cache in orded to do it, or both? and also, if i need to wipe something, should I do it after or before I flash the kernel?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

i think u should wipe both n then try rebooting it might fix the problem of a hanging boot screen
as per the steps of flashing , u should have wiped before flashing
but yesterday i wiped after flashing coz my phone was stuck in a boot loop n then it got fixed
hope it helps

I got the same problem
And I had tried your solution, and it doesnt work
However, I notice one thing
Installing CM7 Based Kernel
Extracting System Files...
Extracting Kernel files...
Installing kernel...
SwiftExtreme Ready!
Should there be a quote "Installing System Files..."?
thx
No as it is kernel it doesn't concern system partition, except for writing some files for example in init.d folder. Perhaps the dev forgot to put the info line.

the latest version for CM 7.1 stable support is 05112011, above that version is not CM 7.1 stable version
Thanks everyone. I tried everything, and that´s right, i don´t think Cn7.1 stable supports the latest swiftextreme. I´m now on Miui android 1.11.18, it runs very well.Battery life is very good.
Thanks
I have a problem with humbertOS' RC0 of CM9 or rather with his gapps zip...
I followed the instructions and did a factory reset and wiped everything (cache, dalvik). after that i installed the newest build (CM9-SGT7-TE4M-20120202) via CWM, didn't reboot and also flashed the kernel for my model (P1000) and flashed the gapps zip right after that and then i finally rebooted the tab...
everything works fine, wait..not everything:
the gapps dont show up...no market, no gmail etc... also it seems that i dont have CWM anymore, since i cant boot into it. but that seems to be normal from what i've read...
so i cant flash the gApps zip again...is there any other way to install it?
i did the whole procedure (installing froyo and the overcome kernel, wipeing everything and flashing humbertOS' files) 4 or 5 times already, but no luck
any1 xperiencing the same? any solutions that i'm not aware of?
i wouldve posted this in the original thread in the dev forum, but i'm not allowed to bc of my 0 posts...
I have a Sprint Galaxy Tab and running JT's ICS build but try this.
Get to CWM, wipe everything, flash the rom. Then mount /system. Then flash GAPPS.
Should work then.
works like a charm thx!
that is not CM9 + Gapps problem.
That is CM9 for SGT in general and we all know that.
Before I used CM10 i just used the stock (flashed latest GB) that came with my phone. So I flashed CWM5 and cleared all the three stuff I was supposed to. I installed the CM10 zip and since then its been stuck on the boot animation, not even a loop. Just the animation.
Any ideas whats wrong?
Thanks in advance

Well happened with me once when I had put AOKP ROM in my Galaxy Note.
Here is what I did:
Go to Recovery.
Wipe Cache.
Try reboot
No results?
Recovery again.
WIpe Dalvik Cache Also
Try reboot.
Still no results?
Try to wipe data/fac reset and re flash some other ROM as of now (which you are confident about that it will work)
Now go ahead and let the old ROM boot. (Surely it will, as you would have used prior)
Now, go connect USB and check MD5 of the file you had kept on SD Card (I mean the CM10 file)
I found that my MD5 didnt match.
If you think it didnt match download again.
If you know it matches then go for reflash.
But this time before flashing the new ROM just use some cleaning script such as Ultimate KErnel Cleaning Script. In Galaxy Note I used Jbroid Kernel Script. I aint sure now if you can use Jbroid in Ace.
Goof luck!
Press Thanks
I got it working, what I had to do was flash CM7, then CM9 then CM10 :/ after that it was fine Thanks for the help
Welcome
The problem was with the kernel being different in CM10 and official version.

Hi I have WEUI v1.0 installed on Galaxy I9000 with the baseband i9000XXJVT
I am planning to install the [ROM][4.1.1] [1.0.1] RemICS-JB (Team RemICS)
Is there any special way or just the regular way of putting in the SD card and then going into CWM and flashing it.
Please advise on this thanks
I did this just last night, from an I9000XXJVU baseband.
Installing was a bit of an issue for me, from recovery i had to wipe user data, cache and dalvik then flash the rom, as the instructions say, then it wouldnt boot. Went back into recovery and wiped the user data, cache and dalvik again and then the phone booted and ran the RemICS-JB 4.1.1 [1.0.1]. Once it was running it all worked fine EXCEPT i had no cellular network connection at all, after leaving the phone on for over an hour.
I didnt get a chance to verify if the wifi worked as i didnt have any access points available.
Good luck amd hope all goes well for you
From GB its important, to flash Rom after all wipes and reboot recovery ... then you get the right cmw .. and then flash again
the JB-Rom ...
It´s the same way like form GB to ICS ... flash and reboot recovery ... without reboot recovery you can`t boot
hope it works ..
Alright so here's what i have done
I first flashed to [ROM]MIUI.4.I9000 it actually turned off the recovery. Then installed the recovery app from playstore.
Then flashed the CM 10 and before flashing it automatically installed recovery V5 on phone.
Then I flashed the REMICS and this installed recovery V6 on phone.
I have to say this is the best ROM i have ever seen the speed is awesome and very nice features on the JB.
There's one thing I have noticed some of the graphics animations are not working as I have seen on the other JB phones.
However still this ROM is brilliant and I am planning to get a tab running with JB.
Thanks for your inputs on this.
Was flashing my friends i9305 and now it wont boot any rom I flash... always gets stuck on the first boot screen until I take out battery.
I flashed CWM 6.0.4.7 using odin.
I have tried flashing several roms (CM 11, CM 10.1, PACman 4.3)... Each one will flash with no errors, then when I reboot after correct GAPPS it just gets stuck on the loading screen forever and won't boot up into ROM.
Wipe data/cache, wipe dalvik, wipe system > Install rom from zip, install GAPPS from zip > reboot (even here I wipe system/data/cache - still doesnt work).
Any ideas on why it won't load up the roms....

Well I figured it out... since it was never flashed or anything before (from stock rom)... I just went into the Mounts and Storage menu, and formated /cache /system /data manually and it finally worked.
Hope that helps
