I CANNOT GET MY BIONIC BACK TO STOCK ROM FOR MY LIFE I HAVE TRIED USING RSD I JUST GET THIS Either XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing" when trying to open the zip. MY FRIEND ROOTED IT AND I WANT MY STOCK ROM BACK I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT I NEED TO DO HE DIDNT EVEN MAKE A RECOVERY FOR ME.
Use this 902 fxz...http://rombot.droidhive.com/ROMs/targa/moto/VRZ_XT875_5.9.902.XT875.Verizon.en.US_CFC_01.xml.zip Make sure you unzip it to your desktop and only have it in one folder.
Make sure your using RSDlite 5.6 or higher.
Are you familiar with RSDlite? If not, PM me and I will help you along. You can also moto-fastboot the 902 system.img, if you don't want to go through the whole RSDlite process.
It sounds like you unfortunately have a corrupted FXZ file. It happens a surprising amount on these forums.
Just get the new FXZ and try RSDLite again.
Did you extract the zip before you tried to run it with rsd lite?

Hi All,
I am having a problem that I am hoping someone can help me with.
I have been trying to flash a custom ROM onto my Milestone using RSDLite 4.6 and have have not been having any luck. I am currently using windows 7 x64 and when I put the phone into recovery mode and plug it into the computer I get a driver problem on my computer. Windows just says that it cannot find the driver for A853 and RSDLite never finds the phone.
I have downloaded all the drivers that I can find and installed them but no matter what I do it will not work.
Any advice on how to get RSDLite to work?
Thanks!
What ROM are you Flashing? You have to be in bootloader mode when using rsdlite.
If the Instructions for the ROM is to install via recovery, then you don't need rsdlite for that. if it's an update.zip, put it in OpenRecovery/Updates in your sd card. if it's a nandroid backup, it should be in nandroid/openrecovery.

Thanks for the advice, the ROM I have is a CellCom ROM from Israel. I have the SBF file for the ROM and I thought the correct way was to put the phone into recovery mode and then flash it via RSDLite. Am I missing something? All advice is appreciated!
Thanks for the help, I managed to get it working. Here is what I did.
1) Downloaded RSDLite 4.6
2) moved the SBF straight to the c:\ drive and not in any folder
3) opened RSDLite, and loaded the SBF
4) Connected phone -> this order is important apparently because it did not work when I connected the phone before loading the SBF
5) Clicked Start when I saw my phone show up.
Hope this helps other people.
My friend from work came up to me today said his droid was messed up and asked me to fix it, im somewhat of an android aficionado, so i said sure, well i get it and he doesnt have a launcher installed basically i got it into recovery and restored it, and it still doesn't pop up with a launcher, now im coming from a samsung phone where odin can fix anything, im wondering if there is any such wonder tool for droid, or if someone can point me to an update.zip i can use to install a custom recovery to install a rom, cause ill just put a rooted stock rom on here for him, he doesn't care
i have found and am installing rsd lite, is this the odin like tool ive been looking for???
rsdlite fails to install the sbf file due to "unable to retrieve initialization files from INI file.

Is the phone in bootloader mode? What sbf are you trying to flash?
Sent from my Milestone using XDA Premium App
yes, phone is in bootloader, im trying to flash a stock 2.2 sbf file, ive also tried a stock 2.1 file, and a recovery file, all failed, but i got it past that point to after creating img, then it says failed to load ram download, ive even tried a linux sbf loader it failed too
I flashed it back to stock 902 a few weeks ago. For some reason, it comes up to the "Bad Flash" screen every time I turn it on. I have to turn it of, hold down both volume buttons, turn it back on, and then choose "normal boot". It's fine after that. Is there an easy way to clear this? I'm currently running SafeStrap as my recovery.
flash failure?
I've been having this same issue. Flash failure is what mine says
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA
Flashing any .img sucessfully should clear the error.
That's what I thought too
Yeah, for some reason, the area does not clear. I updated to Spearmint Gummy ICS thinking it would clear the error, but no such luck.
Did you have any errors when flashing to 902?
download the 902 FXZ file, adb Motorola drivers and rsd lite 5.6. Google for links.
flash the 902 free in rsd lite, will restore you back to stock 902

I has a space error, but I cleaned some stuff off and was able to flash no problem. I first ran into the issue when trying to go from Liberty Rom 2.0 back to stock 901

I did that originally which got me back to stock 902. This screen persists at boot.
Hey OP, Go into the factory recovery and wipe data.
You know how to get to stock recovery?

Just did that, but it didn't work. I did a full data wipe/factory reset in stock recovery. I still get the "bad flash" screen on every boot up.
And you for sure Flashed with the most current 902 FXZ file right? Not with 901?

I went into stock recovery and did a full data/factory wipe. The "bad flash" screen persists at each boot.

I did. At the time, my storage was pretty full. That's when I got the error to begin with. I cleaned some space up and then did it again and it succeeded. I still get the "bad flash" screen with each boot though.
I would try flashing again. Your using rsd lite 5.6 with it right?
Sent from my Eclipsed Bionic
The data wipe and factory reset is not going to change the flash failure error you are receiving. You need to successfully flash an image before it will go away. You can do this with RSDlite 5.6 or moto-fastboot the specific images.
I can help you in more detail, if needed.
Here is a good place to download the full 902 fxz...http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-bionic-hacks/202176-detailed-safestrap-instructions.html
Send me a PM if you need more help.
eye_dea is correct. Just flash any image with moto-fastboot will clear the flash failure and let you boot normally.
I had the same issue on my bionic. It said flash failure and nothing I could do would fix it. Finally I found a thread that said to try "FixCDT". I put the FixCDT file in my ADB folder and ran it. Instantly it rebooted my phone normal. I am not sure where the thread was, but just google FixCDT and I am sure you can find it. If that doesn't work sorry.

What state is your phone in when you try to start flashing the RSD? How did you boot the phone before flashing with RSD Lite?

Usually before I flash in RSD Lite I go into custom recovery and wipe everything, including system, then boot into fastboot. There is also a thread somewhere with a modified XML file that is supposed the replace the one in the stock ROM .zip , you could try that. Or maybe try putting the zip folder on another location of your PC?
Edit: Refer to this thread for that XML file I was talking about, go into your stock ROM zip and replace it with the one in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231249
This thread will also give helpful instructions if needed.
Instead of using rsd lite use myth tools which you can find in the development forum. It's easier than rsd and had worked for me every time

rsd lite does not like long file names either rename the stock ROM to something like Mex_retail or move it to the root of your c: drive and you should get past the error.
Download this ( http://sbfdownload.droid-developers..._FFW-20-27-release-keys-ATT-US_BuildA.xml.zip ) 4.1.1 fastboot package and put it on the root of your C:/ Drive.
Make sure you have RSD Lite 6.1, which can be downloaded here: http://www.mediafire.com/?3ckiknmwcpjolb2
And now, FLASH!
