I have a Droid that got wet at some point. It's not my phone so I'm not sure how long it hasn't been working. When you plug it in the charging light comes on but doesn't turn the phone on. I'm wondering if I just have to replace the motherboard or if there are other components that will need replacing for the phone to be fully functional. Thanks in advance.

I accidentally dropped my Nexus One when I was taking it out of my pocket.
Now, the touch screen or the charging port does not work
The screen turns on fine, and the trackball and power button work fine, but the screen isn't responsive at all.
In addition, the screen says that I have 0% battery left, even though I know I have well over 80% left.
I've tried to plug in a USB charger and it wouldn't recognize it at all. When I put it on the dock, however, it recognizes it, but still, there is no charging indicator.
Is the phone done for?
Thanks
With all those faults, maybe, but there might be hope. The digitizer connection and charging port internals are all based at the bottom of your phone and seeing that the power button still works then the bottom board is probably damaged. Try eBay for the parts. However if something has been physically damaged on the charging port then you'll have to make sure to change it too.
Update:
Phone is back to working state after numerous reboots and battery pulls.
Can anyone tell me why it was behaving this way?
So I pulled off a surgical miracle for the HTC ONE and managed to replace the front LCD, and rear casing. Before I could lower this monstrosity of an electronic into the rear casing I checked all the wires, connectors etc.
Everything seemed fine. But during the final tests, seeing if it would turn on, The One refused to turn on. When plugged in, the ONE showcases a charge screen, resetting and showing the charge screen once more with the percentage and the red charge light. Otherwise the phone refuses to boot into its standard rom (not custom, just stock). I know that the LCD works for sure because it turned on.
Any idea what could have happened? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you screwed the power button/cable?

Thanks for the reply and Nah, all the cables weren't damaged. I replaced the daughter board and its working now. Thanks.
So I went for a screen replacement today. Removing the back housing was relatively easy and I was seeing the insides of my phone in less than 20min.
Carefully removed the motherboard and the daughterboard and installed a NEW battery on the new LCD frame. Starting putting things back where they were before without installing the back housing. Phone turns one, boots fine into OS but it gets HOT in no time. The red light starts blinking immediately and the phone won;t charge.
So my questions are the following:
DId I do something wrong? Some grounding missing? Maybe the new battery requires calibration? Faulty battery?
Thanks in advance guys.

Your battery is overheating while charging, that's why the red light blinks. You probably connected something the wrong way
I installed the old battery and it is fine. When I try the new again I get overheating. Gsam reports a temperature of -20℃ which is not normal at all.
The thing is that I destroyed the LCD flex so I m back with my old LCD and my old battery. :/
So my Nexus 6 fell in the water, I was under impression it is water proof, but when the screen started flickering I knew it's not so water resistance/proof, so I decided to turn it off and put in rice, it was so desperation to check if it's working or not, but I still left it in rice for 2 days. After 2 days, when I tried to turn it on, it didn't turn on, so I plug it to power and left for couple of hours for charging, when I came back and tuned it on, it did turn on, but the battery was still showing as 1%. Generally with Motorola turbo charger it should be 100% by now.
So I figured it's not charging and need troubleshooting/repair. I checked Motorola warranty was void with water damage, so decided to do repair myself. First off I tried charging from Qi charger, hoping there should be short circuit in regular charging, but that didn't work either. So I thought maybe battery is gone, so I ordered a new batter and replaced it successfully, but the new battery is also not charging. When I opened the phone I noticed some water stains on the unit next to USB connector, that would be charging unit.
Does anyone know, if replacing the charging unit is possible, what's the part number. Is there anything else I can do? The phone work perfectly while connected to power, no issues in the screen or anywhere else, I have been using the phone connected to power for few days now.
If someone can confirm this phone can't be repaired, I would love to buy new Nexus or OnePlus 3 . Any help or ideas are appreciated.

Not sure why you would think it was water proof. You most likely fried the board connections to the charging port. YOu could try a new board but your better off just buying a new device.

So when I plug it in the charger the charging light comes on, so something is happening. I don't think it ever reaches full. I'm wondering if even with a toasted battery the phone should boot up or I'm looking at a screen/digitizer replacement. Not sure where to start just wondering if anyone has any ideas
