Hi, anyone face issue with power button where it got no response at all when click on it? Any idea how to fix it? Thanks..

Never had this issue, looks like a hardware issue. Did you drop your phone, or did it get something sticky/greasy on it?
The button itself is fairly well protected, so you do need to really push it, since it's slightly inside the case, unlike most other power buttons, which are level with the rest of the case, or even slightly raised.

I just got my phone back from repair and it has now got a new motherboard and I guess eMMC chip. I would downgrade and root my phone but there is one thing holding me back. I have been reading up on many htc phone owners who have had their emmc chip fried by them pulling out their battery because their phone has frozen or because their battery has fallen out of their phone.
I think it's a common problem for the incredible s from looking at what the htc person said http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20163494&postcount=23
I know it can be fixed by htc but not If you are S-off and as far as I can tell if you are s-off and your emmc chip dies their is no way for you to s-on your phone again.
I was s-off before the repair and I pulled out the battery about 10 times and I never had a problem. Some people seem to think that only some chips are affected as they are a bad batch. If so how can you test your chip ( by pulling the battery) and have anyone already had this problem?
Maybe I'm worrying too much but has anyone thought about it?

It's not really necessary to pull the battery, the button combination for resetting your phone is just press and hold all three buttons. You can still enter hboot from this reset method. Hope this puts your mind at ease somewhat.

Yeah thanks I didn't know about that all button pressing method which I will use in the future. I think maybe the desire s is more vulnerable to it than the incredible s going by the number of threads on their forum.
I must have been lucky for mine to be ok as I pulled out the battery loads when s-off
It looks like I have the bad emmc chip i found out by downloading terminal emulator from the market and typing cat /sys/class/block/mmcblk0/device/name
It comes back with m4g2de which I found out is a Samsung one that bricks after some time.
I'm not sure if I had that before. Could some other people check thiers to see if they have the same one?
I got the sem04g, SanDisk emmc chip

So the sen04g is the good chip and the m4g2de is the bad chip
I know the desire s is really badly effected by the emmc chip going dead but after doing some research the sensation also has this bad chip and according to some people is not affected by it so maybe the incredible s is also not affected.
I've got sandisk too
Yes bad EMMC chip need change

I guess it depends on the mood of the service guy

Yes, if you disassemble the volume button you will see there are separate buttons for vol up and vol down.

For the past 2 weeks there is a big line of my screen at the bottom of my screen that is completely unresponsive. For example, I use the android revolution sense 3.0 ROM by mike1996, and I can barely unlock the phone because the ring is exactly in that spot, although it works after many tries. Typing is a pain in the a** unless in landscape. Anyone had this problem or a solution on how to fix it?

After replacing the digitizer, even though it was very complicated, my touch screen works like a charm! Let's hope it remains that way.
If anyone has this problem, replace the digitizer.

Hi
Quick question. I don't know if anyone experienced that with Xperia T. I seem to have the same problem with it as with previous X8 and X10. Screen stays blank after switching on. Just backlight comes on but nothing else. Touch panel still responds as it should but no information visible phone is kinda useless. Just wondered if anyone knows how to fix this. Would it be hardware problem which seems to be going on for quite a while then in sonys mobiles or is it just software glitch? I would buy new screen but not sure if this will fix it.
Phone is updated to latest available firmaware. Done it yesterday with SUS.
Thanks

PC companion stops half way through the process. I've used the other standalone sonys update service to upgrade the phone which has done it no problem but still nothing visible on screen. Only brightens up slightly when switched on but nothing whatsoever visible.

Hi
Sorry, forgot to add earlier. No, nothing was done. No bootloader unlocking, no rooting, no other flashing. It just happened when I switched it on couple of days ago. I did have same/similar problem with X10 some time ago but along with just backlight on the screen (nothing else) but phone was in boot loop at the same time. This one just stays on for whatever time you want it and you can hear sounds and feel vibrating when using touch panel. Just trying to determine if it's something simple like faulty lcd (not cheap at all thoguh) or even if I splash out for a new lcd it will not help.
If you have not flashed anything, take it back to the shop for a new one

Hi
Yes I did. Fitted new screen! Only £160 pretty much the same as new phone now.
Was your phone damaged in any way (spilled water on it, dropped it)?

In my case was hardware. In yours might be not. I'm not that much of an expert so my only suggestion would be to do hard reset. Did you try that? Hold power button for about 15-20 sec.

hey guys, so i have the LG Optimus 2X, P990-HN, i'm with Fido (doubt it matters) anyway, there was a large crack in my screen, and i just dealt with it for a long time, but eventually the glass FELL OUT, the rest of it worked, but i couldn't leave it, so i ordered a new Digitizer from DealExtreme.com and it was about $50 CAD, reviews tell me it worked, googled it nobody else had complaints, so i doubt it's a fake or anything, all the way from singapore, i put it in and i can see everything clearly through it, beautiful, but zero response from the touch screen. none at all in any area, what could it be? also, if i take the screen out to re-seat it do i need to apply heat and completely remove it, and if so will that make it garbage and need a new one? will the heat kill it? i'm quite upset because it costed 50 bucks and took a long time to get here, and i finally put it in and it doesn't work, all help appreciated!
Have you tried the service center ? One probable way to check if the new one really works is to connect the old one back and see if touch works.. You might have accidentally pulled out some other connection .. just my guess

I have done this twice with OK success. It is important to connect all electronics correctly - check YouTube for guides. But even if you did all correct be digitiser might be defect. Either you being it to service centre or redo digitiser install. Maybe, you can check before closing the phone, and if not working correctly check with your old digitiser. Heating and reheating should be no problem (although nothing is without risk). Good luck.

hey, thanks for helping me out. i think the digitizer MUST be defective, i took it apart and put the old SHATTERED one in, and it works FINE, aside from you know... being shattered. then i plugged the other NEW one in, and no response from the touchscreen. the ribbon wire looks to be fine, the connection to the logic board was fine, everything was hooked up right (or the other one wouldn't have worked right?) so if i cant SEE anything wrong with a digitizer, what could even be wrong with it, it MUST be defective, but what can really be defective about a digitizer? what can go wrong on something with so little to break...?
Don't know what is wrong, but it must have been defect before you got it. Try to return it to the seller/shop as soon as possible and get your money back.

I've been having problems with the sensitivity of the top 2mm of my phone's screen. I don't remember when it started but I think it was around a couple of months ago.
Before, it was only difficult for me to swipe the notification bar down, but now, I can no longer swipe it down unless I rotate the screen.
I don't remember how or exactly when it started, but I remember that I was using ARHD 70.0, then I updated to 71.1 in attempt to fix it, but it only worked for a while but it came back again. I also tried other roms such as MaximusHD and Eragon but still the same. I also tried rebooting to safe mode but still the same. I also used both stock and elemental sense kernels.
I updated my firmware back then to 6.06 and now to 6.07 but still nothing. I haven't tried downgrading yet though.
I tried using the line draw test and the result is found below.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I already searched xda and google but i found no solution to my problem.
It could be a hardware related issue. If it's still under warranty revert it to stock and re-lock the bootloader and just send it back.

Has your device been dropped or been water damaged? The digitizer connection from the mb could have became a bit loose.
*Edit*
I have read on a forum for the HTC One X which seems to have a similar issue to yours where a part of the screen is unresponsive. Someone suggested to clean the connector.

I did some more research about it and people are saying it is a digitizer issue. So replacing the digitizer should fix it, but you will need to buy the lcd and digitizer together as its nearly impossible to replace them separate from eachother.
Quote from androidcentral
It's definitely a hardware issue. I have been dealing with the same issue for about 6 months now. When I try to swipe down to bring up the notification bar I get absolutely no feedback . If I give it a smack with my palm near the top corners I can often times get it to start working again. However, it's usually short lived.
