problem flash kernel - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone I have a problem I do not understand how to install the kernel on my x8 naa ics with stock rom and bootloader unlocked. I have to flash the kernel of the first stock rom and install minicm9, I fear to brick the phone.
sorry for my english

Flash kernel first and at boot enter recovery and flash the ROM.
Sent from my X8 to your screen

Flash kernel, enter recovery, then flash the ROM and GApps.
Then full wipe and wipe cache and dalvik cache. Then, reboot.

Thanks to both! I solved

here's a few choices
1: Read the forums
2: Sell your phone and buy a 3310
3: actually only 2 choices
and before you ask USE THE SEARCH BUTTON

well i read the forums but i didnt discover the same problem as me ...so again is the stock x8 rom not supposed to work after i flash the kenrel or am i doing something wrong?(ican get to cwm).MOreover,do i have to load the custom rom file first, then flash the kernel, then flash the loaded rom?
dude, flash nAa v10. after you flash it, the kernel logo will appear followed by the battery sign.
press power button, the phone will boot and the kernel logo will appear.
you will be sent do CWM Menu.
if you have a compatible ROM for nAa kernel, do a full wipe and reboot and see if the ROM boots successfully.
if you dont have a compatible ROM, do a full wipe, install CM 2.1.8 and then reboot.
U have to unlock bootloader first before flashing kernel,
this is the step (with stock kernel and rom installed and root) :
- unlock bootloader
- flash kernel
- enter cwm
- wipe data
- install custom rom
- wipe data again
- restart system
and ur good to go

You cant load stock rom with a custom kernel. Just flash GingerDx Rom and you should be fine. Flash the kernel first using the flash tool, then flash the rom using CWM and then turn on the phone
ty very much guys( especially bahmonkeys)!I should have known that

No problem im here to help!!!
Here is a newbie guide to unlock the bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436924&page=2
After you unlocked BL you can flash the kernel with flashtool (with the latest one)
-Don't forget to copy you're rom to SDcard!
When the nAa logo appears hit the back button and you're in cmw menu.
full wipe->instal custom rom-> reboot your phone !
first flash your kernel and then install custom rom...

[Q]flashing kernel while using custom rom

i have unlocked Bootloaderand i wanna flash nAa kernel while using custom rom.will that work? or flash back to stock kernel first?
need answer as fast as possible
sorry for my bad english
Yeah it will work if the rom supports that kernel.Just wipe the dalvik cache before flashing
Sent from my Worlds using xda premium
Just transfer the nAa ROM into your SD card, flash the nAa kernel and when your phone boots up, open CWM and install the ROM.
i see now... if stuck on SE logo then i'll have to rein stall the rom again?
If You flash nAa kernel there won't be SE logo. It will be nAa logo And don't worry about stuck - there's a built-in recovery in nAa kernel, so even if You forgot to copy compatible ROM to SD card there's always an option to enable USB storage via CWM recovery. But make sure You have backup Your contacts / apps / messages etc before do anything.
oh....i never flashed kernel before...
after i unlocked bootloader then my phone hard bricked and sent to repair for 1 month+
after i get it back i checked whether the bootloader unlocked or not it surprisingly unlocked @@ and i was like
So now go ahead and install kernel and then ROM following the instructions and good luck.

[Q] Afeter unlock bootloader i canĀ“t run any ROM....helP!!!

X8 ....After unlocking bootloader it went out of SIM signal....imanage to solve this problem.
But i have a mayor problem: I`ve tried to install GingerDx, PrimeHD, MiniCM9, on Sock and Custom Kernels and it always stuks at booting.
Before unlocking bootloader stock kernel ROMs were runnig all right, even PrimeHD 7.0 with nAa 11 worked but not anymore.
Anyone knows what is happening, should i relock and unlock it again?

Yes...full wipe= Done...but doesn`t work after full wipping.
well are you sure you have unlocked your bootloader?
re-check with s1tool...if it's unlocked then with flashtool go back to stock rom, kernel(android 2.1) and then root it again install recovery and then first try to install some other rom for stock kernel and then install custom kernel and then custom ROM
Pay attention on your ftf kernel files...i accidently downlaoded U20 nAa kernel instead of x8 nAa kernel...and guest what-->that kernel didn't work so whatch out for which phone is ftf kernel file
i hope i helped

Use PCC/SEUS to get back to stock , then re-root.
Flash recovery and install a ROM for STOCK KERNEL if you aren't unlocking your bootloader.

Strange...
Are you sure the ROM is stock kernel compatible.
And first you installed xrecovery , then flashed CWM ? Why so ?

flash naa jb again.. then go in mount and storage. and mount system and data.. and format cache data and system..then flash stock again.. cwm will work..
I suggest you to reinstall stock firmware (Kernel+Stock 2.1) using SEUS and first get a running 2.1.
then install xRecovery or CWM and flash GingerDX,(using x8toolbox) as i know you can't flash a rom first and then kernel(correct me if i'm wrong)
