Galaxy note boot up is driving me nuts!!

So I was on iMilkas rom for a bit. I decided that I really needed Skype and netflix to work so I went back to stock for a bit while I decided what to do. Everything went back fine. However whenever I reboot my phone it plays a tune over and over for about let's say, 6 MINUTES!!! It loops over and over and over. I go into my sounds and my default ringer is set properly and my notification sound is set. (neither is this annoying tune btw). Any ideas why this phone keeps doing it. Also I swear it gets a little longer with every reboot.
version: 2.3.6
baseband: DDLB1
kernel: DDLB2
oh and the song it repeats over and over is the one of the defaults: "Over the Horizon"

Does sound like a funny bug. I swear I heard something similar a month or so ago and a reflash of the rom solved it. Someone may be able to determine the exact problem for you though

Symptoms of improper flashing mate.Try factory reset if it doesnt work try to reflash the rom again

hard reset it or flash it again

Man I was hoping that wouldn't be the best solution although in the back of my head I think it is. Considering this, I might just downgrade again and re-enable root so I can restore with TB. Since this is where I'm heading I guess i'll spend the rest of my time in the developer forum finding the most suitable rom to jump on board with. Any suggestions from people on GB roms? ( I can't go to ics as I need Skype to work for "work".

Best rom to go with is rocketrom v22 its a gb rom and you can get the ics look with a matching theme put franco kernel 9 and you are ready to roll into awesomeness!!
rocket rom comes in miui theme by default but in the opening post of the rom u will find a perfect ics theme to go with!!
the best combo is rocket rom plus ics theme plus franco kernel

I've seen similar problems mentioned with early versons of SuperSU.
have you updated to this recently?
some were able to resolve the issue by disabling the notification toasts, and/or granting SU access as default.

I installed MIDNOTE 2.0 yesterday and I must say that it is a flawless ICS rom. I dont have any problems at all!!!

[Q] [ROM][JB]various questions

I have decided to test JB on my Gtab P1000 (GSM) french model. It was running previously under CM9, thanks to the very good job of all the developpers!
I have installed CM10 by cdesai but I have some troubles with the UI: the icons are below the search bar and notification bar. I have search various option without luck. Furthermore, the unlock screen (I used schema) is duplicate with still the slide unlock screen which does not deactivate.
I have then test SAPIR which exhibit the same problems.
I precise I have restocked the GTab before applying new ROM o start from a clean tab.
Humberos ROM is the one which gives the best UI but there it is not very clear to me how various tablet options are working, with some unexpected "UI has stopped" when playing with "toggle status bar" from the system menu.
Is there somewhere some kind of "how-to" for UI configuration on JB?
I have to admit that there is so many info available that I'm lost in understanding various ROM differences...
Which ROM could be considered as the most "stable" and "stock"?

I'm running the latest HumberOs 20121021 rom and I have to say I have no problems at all with the tablet mode.
you just select it from the options and I works fine for me.
Another possibility is to reduce the DPI to something about 132-120.
The problem is that everything gets too small for my taste.
I hope it helps.

[Q] Roms don't run after installation

Hi everyone. i apologize in advance if this topic has already been handled, but i didn't find any thread talking about my issue.
I explain my problem:i got an lg 2x and i'm running cm10 and it's actually pretty good imho. Yesterday eve i tried to install Miui 4.2, just to see how it was like. No problems during installation itself, but when i rebooted my phone, it stucked on the animation (the M with loading bar beneath) for hours (just saying). Then i tried with Django and Hd Nova: same thing. I did a full wipe (cache+dalvik) and i still don't get where my mistake is. Might you help me out please? Thank you all!

It depends what cm10 version you are running
There are versions for old and new bootloader,if you are running on official cm10 then you are on old and you need to switch to new bootloader and then you can use new bootloader rom's,there are tutorials in general section how to do it :good:

Seeking Help regarding Vanilla Rootbox rom - Quick Tiles Toggles

hello all & @AA1973,
the rootbox rom is having issues on my note specifically with the power tile toggles.
i mean power widgets or CM toggles in the left work just fine but I cannot, I mean NOT AT ALL enable the tile toggles.
pls help.

pls dont tell me to download the latest nightly and check the download and stuff like that.
i have done all that sooooo many times I cant recall the count of it..
AND also it works perfectly on roms such as JellyBeer, JellyBam, PA and almost other CM based roms.
Only issue is with rootbox.
duno why?

Thanks for your efforts and sorry for having discredited what you were writing before. What you showed us in the video, thanks for that, is absolutely not normal.
How did you flash it? Wipe data?
Also format /system or ?/preload (although maybe unnecessary)?
Which Rom were you running prior to this?
Do you use stock kernel?

I was running jelly beer prior to this.
I never dirty flash.
although I havea dirty habit of format everything.
even preload and emmc apart from cache data system preload etc, after the standard 3 formats and wipes.
I never change the kernel.
dunno why is it happening.
now after trying out the latest 4-5 rooms around the net I have finally flashed BB's PAC.
it's perfect now.
both the power toggles and quick tiles are working

Glass you got it sorted. :thumbup: it is still strange. What you could do is to grab a logcat (lolcat™) while clicking on the icon to switch to quick tiles.
Did the sliding feature with the bottom bar didnt work out neither?

as for the logcat i cant do it as I have reflash the rom and after the LC again reflash my current rom..

[Q] Captivate Screen color change after clockworkmod - Help please

Hi Guys,
I am using captivate since its release. I flashed lot of roms and never had any problems with it. I'm running Captivating rom (RC2) with no issues.
Recently I bought a new captivate from ebay. I have a weird problem with the new one. When I tried to flash the same rom all went smooth except for screen color change. After flashing the phone looks all different with bluish tinge (Please see the attached pics). I tried to flash cyanogenmod 10.1 but the same problem persisted. But when I went back to 2.2 with Odin, there were no issues at all. I found out that after clockworkmod the colors are changing.
Did anyone of you encountered this kind of problem? I searched all the forums but didn't find any solution. Hope you guys find some solution to my problem. I seriously don't wanna use 2.2 now a days. lol.

Did you do a complete wipe and factory reset before flashing? Did previous owner have voodoo color or similar app installed on 2.2?
You could also go into advanced settings in 10.1 and check the color tuning.
