Nice
Although I don't read or write the Arabic script myself, I checked the program because it interested me from a technical point of view.
I would say a very nice program. I guess it was quite some work to build all this keyboard functionality more or less from bottom-up, because the WP7 standard SIP cannot be used.
The ability to mix Persian/Arabic and English or more exactly Latin script is impressive; if I myself try to think about all this left-to-right / right-to-left stuff, I tend to get a headache...
However, you may debug cursor positioning within Latin script somewhat more. It's quite easy to end up with the cursor in the middle of letters, and if you try to delete characters after moving the cursor through Latin letters, almost always the wrong characters are deleted.
The auto-repeat cursor movement is clever, but - isn't there always a "but" - much too fast for my liking, especially if you can also make large moves by going whole lines up and down.
Is there a way to paste text? If not, adding one would be nice.

I just the other day flashed L26's Diamond V12 w/radio 1.65.24.36, and i notice the new autocorrect feature i never had with Dutty's. Instead of recommending words in a small box, a large bar appears with a list of recommended words.
I dont like this so I disabled all autocorrect features and unchecked suggest words. However now I still get the large bar and in it the letters I write are repeated up in the bar for no apparent reason, making sms very slow and annoying.
In addition, i often can't navigate using the arrows to other parts of my message like i used to, instead it will highlight the word I have finished typing and copy/paste it into obscure places in my message. Anyone share this problem or know how I can fix it?

Has anyone found one? Could be nice to keyboad to match with everything else
Just a side note: Shape Writer is also available for WinMo and is incorporated in every app, rather than just one (as in the iPhone). Just go on Shape Writer's website.

i use Shape Writer for everything, its brilliant. Have a look in the Themes and Applications section, there is a thread called "SWYPE!!!" which discusses it on page 6, and has a download link.
I always use the standard WinMo keyboard. I check the big buttons options with the use of gestures in the settings , which make your buttons smaller again but you get an extra row of numbers on your keyboard. I often use these gestures and it's really handy.
I wish there was a way to make the buttons a bit bigger again so i could use my fingers to type, I wouldn't mind reserving half the screen for a good keyboard.
So is there a keyboard out there with the use of gestures but without for instance the enter/backspace/shift buttons and without the spacebar
But a del button would be nice though, theres no gesture for that...
Actually forget the keyboard, is there a way to add more gestures in the WinMo keyboard??? That would be awsome!
hey I was thinking about the same exact thing. There are a lot of keyboards out there but i dont think much people realise how "potentially" awesome the Winmo Keyboard actualy is. If only the keys can be enlarged a little bit. or if a pop up ability could be added this should make one of the best keyboards out there am sure.
Hi there,
Listen, Robert Ferris created a great little tool BAF GPS Toggle (link). I really use it all the time. However, as you can see in my screenshot it does not go well with a Touch Pro visually. It is really difficult to open and start with a stylus as the space is very limited and often I open an adjoining program/function....
As Robert seems to be busy and said not to have time to keep developing this further, I think it is up to us to make the necessarey adjustments. If I want to do that,... Where do I need to make adjustments, how can I change the today line to fit the text? Where are the images, so I can increase their sizes? And would that do it?
Not only would it make a solution, but it would be fun to learn to do this myself as well.

By the way, I am leaving China for Australia and am not sure how often and how quick I will have access to internet. So if I don't reply immediately you know why.
Thanks for your advice!
I don't know about your program specifically but you can change the size of the text displayed by going to Settings->System->Screen
In there there is a tab called 'Text Size', you can change the size of your text there.
Thanks for the suggestion. However, that would change all text sizes... not this individual program line....
From the looks of it, the icon on the left next to the text is the cause. On a 320x240 screen (on the developers site) it displays as the same size as the text. But when you run it on a VGA screen the icon appears half the size.
The developer has to make this cosmetic change or you can resource hack the program to try to replace the icon (if it'll work)
...Sorry, just tried this for you, it won't change the line height if you resource hack the program. The author will have to make the changes internally to the dll.

SwiftKey keyboard
SwiftKey is like an English professor is alive and working inside your phone. It’s still in beta, but it’s already an amazing little application. What makes SwiftKey different is its ability to predict the next word in your sentence. Predicting the current word is so 2009! Of course everyone loves things that make our lives easier - things like correctly guessing what word comes next. My only issue (and it's a small one) is that you can't enter words that aren't in the dictionary by pressing the spacebar and moving on. You have to actually tap the word to get SwiftKey to enter it.
To sign up and check out the SwiftKey beta head over to SwiftKey.net. It's really polished for a beta, and to be honest I'm planning on using it as is until they release a new version. At the moment SwiftKey is English only, but the developers say that they plan to include support for all the Latin based languages in the near future. No word on availability and pricing of the final version, but by the look and feel of the application, it shouldn't be too far off. Keep an eye on their site for details, and be sure to let me know if you see it slip into the Market before I do!
Pros:
Amazing full word prediction
Easy to add to custom dictionary
Also predicts punctuation
Special characters are easily entered by long pressing
Cons:
Learning curve
Can be laggy when first starting up
Will always pick the word it thinks is correct, so be careful with the spacebar
Hi,
There is a problem I have with the Android keyboard. You may know Spanish (my language) uses accents to determine a word's strong syllable. The problem is, Android's keyboard seems to relegate words with accents to the end of the autocomplete list. Take a look at this:

Here I'm trying to write "también" ("also" in English) but the dictionary wants to write "tambienes" instead (which to my knowledge isn't even a real word).
Here I'm trying to write "iré este año" (I will go this year) but the dictionary prefers "Nano" to "año", even though that word is much less similar to the letters I'm entering. Not only that: it offers many other words (anoxe, amor, amplia, animales... for God's sake, some of them aren't even remotely similar!) and the right one ("año", meaning "year") only appears last. That indicates Android's dictionary prefers literally anything before words including accents.
I really think this is wrong and should be solved, where would be the best place to file a bug?
I've noticed if I'm aiming for a short word, it will suggest all the longer words (and variations) before my word. Sometimes placing it three clicks to the right, when all I needed was to write three more letters to finish the word.
"Acquiesce" is an ok example. However little that word is used. There's others, just can't think of them. So maybe post in Google's Help forum.
