At this point, I'm still saying.. Ok.. I'll just put in my spare Tyre.
Then when trying to unscrew the nut, i encountered this.
I was like.. Wtf?! Fine.. Started waiving frankly at by passers.. 2 cars stopped to help me.. Nissan and proton (Malaysian local car maker).. And guess what, i couldn't use their lug wrench because my car doesn't use standard nut size.. Its smaller than theirs.. Wtf again.
So drive 5km to a petrol station.. Pump in air.. By then Tyre completely out of air.. Air leaking from side walls.. Wtf?
So now, my 2 months old Ford fiesta is at workshop changing tires. At least the rim its still ok. But seriously.. Wtf!
I'm going to claim all this from Ford..

Well, it is a Ford....
Seriously though, pop to your local motor factors or even a weekend market that has a tool stall, and get yourself a cheap extending wheel nut wrench, most have a reversible socket (17mm/19mm, or 19mm/21mm) that makes undoing even the tightest of bolts a doddle.
I used to have a Laguna II with the 1.9DCi engine (prone to turbos going boom), who's ECU was running Windows ME, or at least that's what it felt like with the number of times I'd have to reboot the car to clear a fuel injection fault, normally on the motorway so I'd be on the hard shoulder, where the £150 a corner tyres would find every single nail they could, normally near the edge of the wheel so they couldn't be repaired.
One night that springs to mind, I was heading up the M1 just south of MK after doing a 12 hour shift when the error occurred.
So I pulled over, got out the horrible scissor jack and the car slipped it's handbrake and the wheel fell on the jack snapping it's arm.
It was about 11pm so I phoned the AA and got recovered to the Coachway at Jnc 14. The recovery lorry didn't have a jack small enough to fit under the car so had arranged for a patrol van to meet us there. Unfortunately as it was coming up to home time for the patrol van driver, he "misunderstood" where they were meeting, so went off shift, meaning I had to wait until 1:30am for a local recovery firm who had the post-midnight contract to come out and fit my spare wheel, so I could then carry on my journey up to Grimsby. Not a good night.
Of course, had I been in my Xantia it would have been a doddle to change. Handbrake on, slacken wheel bolts, set car suspension on high, get spare and jack out from under the boot, extend the jack to fit snug under the sill by the wheel that needs changing, set suspension on low and watch the flat wheel lift itself off the ground making removal so easy.
No heavy lifting required

And this is why nobody likes American cars.

Need some help getting some scumbag stealing from my car....

Pretty long read, but added cliffs at the bottom.
My car has been broken into twice in the past month and a half. The first time they stole my GPS, radar detector (escort passport 9500i), and phone charger and one of those car outlet power strips. The second time was just a couple days ago and they stole my beats headphones, a bunch of change and a baton in my door.
They funny thing is there was no sign of forced entry, no pry marks, broken windows or doosr, or anything. I also have my spare set of keys with me, too, so no one could have gotten them. Either two scenarios could have arised from this.
1. I accidentally left the car doors unlocked( I have a key remote) although I'm 98% sure I locked it because I honestly have OCD about locking my car door.
or
2. Someone got into my house, took my keys(because I leave them on a radiator right by the front door) unlocked my car door, and stole the sh*t went back into my house and put the keys back.
My girlfriend left the house the night the first incident happened and forgot to lock the front door, so scenario 2 is likely.
The second incident, the front door was locked, but the back door was unlocked. So it would be pretty ballsy for a person to go through my back door, and do the same thing in scenario 2.
This really pisses me off and I want to find the person responsible so bad. I had a plan to try to track the person down, if they try to do it again. It doesn't make sense how or why this occurred, but the person must be extremely clever.
I have an old Droid Incredible that I had planned to use to find the perpetrator. I was planning on using the app Lookout and turning on the GPS and leaving it in my car every night until it got stolen again, then track down the coordinates of my phone. The only issue with that was you need working data to use the gps and the only way to do that would be to activate the line on my phone.
I currently have a Rezound and there was no way I was going to take a chance of having that stolen and never seeing it, that's why I chose the Incredible. Only problem is I don't wanna keep activating my Incredible every night and leaving it in my car and then deactivating it in the moring, because that would be very cumbersome.
Would there be any other way to be able to track this person using my Incredible? Also any other input or advice about this situation would be very appreciated: it's a mystery and it's really getting me down and worried about how this is happening.
Also, both times occurred over night, not during the day. Also, I do have a security system on my car so if anyone tried using a master key or lock pick, it would go off.
Cliffs:
Sh*t got stolen out of car
Pretty big mystery of how(read Scenarios 1 & 2)
Want to use old Droid Incredible GPS to track person
By leaving it in car to see if it gets stolen
Would have to activate phone to do so
Advice greatly appreciated...
Okay buy some romen noodles a thermos forbkeeping your hot water. A bat a chair blanket. Hide and camp out your house amd leave the doors unlock and the most important of all have patients..
If that dont work you can set up a camera using uour droid. I seen some apps that can stream to your pc like justin tv
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
That could work, I can just use my house wifi for that. Also, I have all those things minus the ramen.... Looks like I'm stocking up.
Those pay as you go type of plans seem perfect for this situation. There are some that you can use your own phone and get a plan like 2 GB of data to use within one month. I think its from simple mobile or something like that. look it up. definitely worth it to figure out who stole from you. I would also get a night vision camera and hook it up to a laptop or something . The more evidence the better.
Justin. tv works with wifi. no data plan

if money is no worries then hire a privated investigators and have them track that scumbag.<-that's the lazy way
Or buy a shotgun install some cameras with audio motion detectors then leave the house for a weekend but don't really leave if you get what I mean buy alot of snacks and sodas water stay locked up in the bedroom monitor all this via TV dvr system then shoot anyone who attempts to enter your property

You forgot a THIRD possible solution:
If your car is purchased USED, then who ever sold it to you, may have spare keys.
that is a regular stuff here in Serbia - You buy a car, and a guy who sold it to you already has information (adress, even work info) cause of the paperwork, so he comes by your house and unlocks the car, and steals the stuff from it, or steals the car itself.
Anyways, that actually happened to me once, so I purchased the cheapest motion detector from china, from alibaba. My steering whell had the menchanic protection (the metal lock that goes over it) so there was no fear of him taking it for a drive. and when the guy entered my car I waited for him to fully enter, and locked him in via remote. and then me and my brother got out and disabled his stealing hardware (arms and legs) so that's the way to go by my standards.
the guy actually tried to sue me, but law also doesnt work here, as such cases (fights and such) work only if you have expencive lawyer.
Well I bought it from a very large Acura dealership in another state about 5 or 6 hours away. That was over a year ago, so I don't know how high of a chance that is. Although there always is a chance.
What type of motion detector did you use? I might go that route.

You also forgot a fourth situation: if you have a fob to lock and unlock your car remotely the frequency could have been captured when you were clicking to unlock. This is unlikely, but as I said, possible.
Anyway whatever the case since you have an old phone what I recommend you do is use it with your wifi to run the phone as a remote camera and stream and record the video to your hard drive. When the thief breaks in you'll have a nice clear picture of him taking everything, and the added bonus of the gps location if he/she takes the phone.

I wouldn't be able to use the GPS unless I had a data connection. That phone's inactivated. Unless there's an off chance that where the thief brings my phone is to a place that has wifi and also the chance that it's not secured by a password.

Found the right solution for you!
there are chinese *****y products but they work, I saw couple of them in Shenzhen, and they are awesome!
its a box-like little gadget, that has a SIM slot. then, you buy a prepaid simcard, place it in, and it works this way:
it has sound detectors, very sensitive. and when someone makes a sound, it dials your phone number, and it even enables you to listen whatever is going on in the room/space where it's placed.
it has a decent battery, cause the one I tested (considered smugling them back to serbia for sale) held on for 5-6 days with one charge.
It looks like this, but you could figure out a search from this link, to find it on ebay or alibaba: LINK
m1l4droid said:
If you can get a sim card in the incredible, there's this app called where's my Droid. It doesn't need data connection, it just uses text message to activate and sends back the GPS set location (coordinates) with text. It really works I've tried it. Pretty awesome app.
Now, about the robbery itself, if the thief had the keys to your car he/she could have simply taken the car itself, so there's a possibility that they know you. Can it be your neighbor?
Oh that there's this, my car prompts me for a passcode on door unlock, and will alarm if passcode wasn't enter within 20 seconds. This sure could help in your situation. The only way to disable the alarm w/o passcode is to pull the battery.
You can also get a cheap proximity alarm for the house door.

Well the Droid incredible doesn't take a Sim card so that wouldn't work. The proximity alarm is a good idea though. Is there something available where I can put it in my car and not alert the person stealing, but let me know?

Have you read my post .. ? those chinese SIM bug thingies really work.
1. you program it via USB so that it calls you when activated by sound.
2. EVERY change in sound is registered, so voice, door open/close, even air flow activate it.
3. when someone opens your car, it registeres it, calls you, and perp doesnt even know that he activated it.
4. your phone receives a call, from your SIM bug, and you know that something is in yo' car making noise
5. open the window, take Dragunov out of your closet. aim:

Where could I purchase one? And where would I get a prepaid Sim? I live in the united states.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA
ebay for - SIM bug. it is similar to the product from this link so you will find it: LINK
prepaid SIM - does no one in USA sell those ? when you buy a burner phone from a local shop, are they all CDMA, or are there sim-card phones for purchase also .. ?
Anyways, if you dont find prepaid sim, use some sim card from someone else, or buy a sim card with the weakest plan (money save)
Well actually I have a sim card in my Rezound, but then that would make my phone useless.

Total Loss? (Insurance)

So right at this moment, I'm stuck at home. As a 19 year old, why? Well yesterday, my left front tire popped going down a windy side road, and I ended up in a ditch. New tire and a car wash, and I'm good to go, right? Wrong. The tow truck that AAA sent to tow me out of said ditch attempted (for some reason) to tow it out with the wheel perpendicular to the direction they were pulling. This caused them to pop the control axle (cop who was responding HEARD it pop). Then they said "Oh, you did that." They then pulled it the rest of the way out, managing to rip the wheel off my traction system and off the drivetrain itself. In the process, they dented my front quarter fender quite heavily (it was buckled from where the wheel was dragging onto it). They then proceeded to tell me that they couldn't tow it. So the county cop calls a flatbed to tow my car to the dealership. In the process of loading/unloading my car onto that, and I really felt sorry for the tow driver, he damaged my front bumper and my headlight. Nothing he could do, as the play in the wheel just messed up pretty much everything on that side of the car. Not only do I now have to pay for my damage, which was nothing more than a tire and maybe a rim (oh and a car wash), but I have to pay for the extensive front damage that the tow company caused along with the county's fees ($302 to be exact). My question is, what are you guys opinions? I don't know if any of you make a living doing insurance claims or the like, but I'd love to get a reply. First two pics are before the tow truck, and the basic damage I did. Second are after everything was said and done, and the rogue wheel caused its havoc.
I think you should give this a read
It will give you an idea of how to approach the situation.
thats nothing !!!
just keep driving it
looks like an easy fix

Thats a baby ditch, they shldnt have messed up anything i wld go after the tow company and let ur insur know what happened. All that shlda been included in the police report! If not make the officer on scene redo it thats crap. I was in a ditch where my car was almost on its side and when the tow company got it out they didnt damage anything. Either way claim it on your insur and get your car fixed so your not stuck at home
MARBLE WHITE GALAXY SIII
I have seen disclaimers that tow truck companies aren't liable for damage occur during recovery but since u have pics and it obviously isn't damaged I would a bring tge pics to your insurance company and explain the situation. Contacting the cop for a statement would be helpful. The insurance company should pay for it and then if they can sue the tow company for negligence. Or start with the statement from the cop and then go to the towing company and then AAA and work your way to insurance and or a local lawyer

I know how I'm going to approach it. My whole point is with the wheel entirely off the drivetrain and suspension and all that, and all the damage to that side, is it likely to be declared a total loss? I guess I'm just looking for reassurance here, as I think it probably will. I really don't think it could be restored to a safe drivable state.

I had a new car once...never again. Not worth it at all. Love my 500.00 beast. Put a tie rod end in it and change oil and fill with gas. 30+ mpg and no payments or high insurance. Versus 180.00 month payments with about the same a month on insurance. Had more repairs to do with the new one too. Not to mention I can fix mine civic buy myself.

Maybe but when you're young your car is basically your cool factor. Otherwise I wouldn't mind driving around in a 5 speed integra. And my insurance isn't 180. It's 250 a month. That's no accidents, no tickets. And I even have discounts!

My X - rest in peace

Sadly and unexpected my HOX passed away earlier today.
We were in the car togehter and my dear HOX was running Waze giving me helpful advice along my route when it suddenly screamed (yes!) and soon there after the screen went blank. All my attempts to resuscitate was futile and while I held HOX in my hand it's feverish temperature burnt me.. and the smell... oh the smell!
I rushed to the nearest 3 ER (Service Center) where the could do nothing but confirm it had perished.
It was completely stock, no unlock, nothing modded but a Copter screen protector. Is there a support group for grief counseling?
So sorry to hear of your loss. I think it might have overheated on the dash. Was the sun shinning on the phone while it was giving you directions?

No, it wasn't sunny and it was mounted in the official HTC car thingy, and there is an air vent just behind it. Maybe just because it wasn't sunny and bright the backlight was cranked up?

It was completely stock, no unlock, nothing modded but a Copter screen protector. Is there a support group for grief counseling?

yes this is the perfect brick, even if you did unlock they could never prove it (even if you got the unlock code from htc dev, they couldn't prove you used it)

Thanks for your support!
The remains has been sent of to some center for doing a post mortem and I'm hoping (praying) it will resurrect (with major transplants). The loaner I got is a stranger from another Galaxy who is terribly slow.
I miss my X.:crying:
I got my phone back today from the shop, according to the notes on the service bill the battery had overheated and shorted the mainboard. The case and screen survived but rest had been replaced.

Haha HTC didn't want to replace mine, eventually agreed though. Here's the funny bit:
To repair the phone they needed to replace the screen for the dead pixels. They then needed to replace the main board for the wifi issue.
Then needed to give it a new case for the wonky holes on front speaker. (and they actually did this even after agreeing to replace , still have same serial, just different imei)
You would have thought they might of just agreed to a replacement in the first place haha

Yes, it was major transplants but it's soul is the same. I've spent the day retraining all lost function and capabilities so the recover process is well on its way.
I personally would never use my HOX as a GPS guidance. Why not just buy a regular cheap GPS from any electronic store? Cell phones are not to be placed in any areas having sun shining upon. One time I was only leaving in my room where the sun was strong was gazing intensely inside, my HOX was severely overburned just from the sun.
I left my phone under my pillow with the alarm going off once, and i was in a really heavy sleep, woke up and it burnt me -.-

Well, I have an expensive built in dash mounted GPS... but it don't give me as good traffic data as Waze. The phone wasn't in direct sunlight , it was in the car kit holder well shaded, the GPS signal penetrates the car roof with ease.

[Q] Nexus Metal Letter Inserts on back of device

The metallic Nexus letter inserts on the back of the device are starting to peel up from the recessed letters. Has anyone else experienced this too? This started happening the day after receiving the phone.

On a serious note could it be the great I've noticed it can get pretty toasty under heavy use. Could the heat make the adhesive weak?
Happened to me also ... Pulled all the letters out with a needle.
Happened to me today with the X.....super disappointed, I've had it barely 3 days...
I want to glue it back on...anyone has any advice in terms of which type of glue would work best?
Happened to me also. The X on the back started to peel off one of the lines and I pushed it back in. Then later that day I realized that same line was gone and lost somewhere.
I contacted T-Mobile over the phone since I ordered it over the phone and they are shipping me a brand new one overnight. I should receive it tomorrow.
They stated it has not been an issue brought up to them yet so if any of you guys bought it at T-Mobile, go ahead and state there is an issue with it. I just received my case today so it shouldnt be a problem anymore. Sucks that this is definitely an issue though :/

A VERY thin layer of superglue, applied to the phone (not the letters) should do the trick. Make sure you put a very very thin layer, else the superglue will come on top of the letters when squeezed.
P.S. pics?

Just call T-Mo (or where ever you purchased it from), and tell them to replace it. You should have 15-30 days warranty from the seller (and 1 year from the manufacturer)
ok thanks i will call them now.

i call t-mo no dice.
they said phone is out of stock for at least 6 weeks and i can return the phone under buyers remorse and there are no t-mo stores near me with that phone in stick. any one have any other ideas? i would be fine with a replacement letter E. will moto replace this or is the best bet to get through t-mo?
I know that to some folks this issue might seem petty but I'd be pretty damn pissed if this happened to my nexus. This is a 700$ phone and I wouldn't accept anything but a perfect phone. I really wish Google/Motorola had got their **** together for this launch, waiting 6 weeks for a replacement is some bull****.

Motorola does offer the warranty, so you can certainly contact them, and they should be able/willing to fix/replace it. Note that they (unlike T-mo) may not replace with a new device - they may instead send you a refurb).
T-Mo may be saying 6 weeks just to discourage you from returning it - you could try to ask them to replace it when available (since the problem happened within the remorse period). YMMV though
I found this problem with mine today.
chatted with moto. they told me that they would replace the phone for me. with the advanced exchange policy, they will send a new phone to me (3-5 business days) before i send mine back to them. She assured me that i would not have to wait on any inventory back order time.
i bought my phone through moto.

Screen dead

Hi Guys,
my screen suddenly showed some serious ripping/jagged lines and now doesn't work. I think the touchscreen is working as I can get it to vibrate randomly. The watch also connects to the phone and vibrates on alerts.
Very randomly and occasionally, the screen will work and in these brief moments I've performed a device reset but, this has made no difference. I've also told the watch to us LG standard watch faces, again, made no difference.
I've downloaded the firmware (Boot, system and recovery) but I am unable to enter the flash mode.
Any ideas?
(Sadly, returning it will be quite difficult for me as I purchased it in the UK and live in Muscat, Oman... where there is no local LG dealer)

My LG G Watch R had the same problem today .. I have no clue to reboot it back or anythings
Another one... my watch screen also died after it froze 2h ago...
Everything else seems to be working as 'Ok Google', 'Play music' plays music on my phone just fine :|
Sometimes after I've charged my watch overnight, the top third of the screen starts flashing in and out rapidly. It stops only after I've powered watch down and powered it back up.
Well, me too
My luck just ran out ~1 month ago, and I have to send it to Korea for warrenty(I got the first batch from Korea). Now it's fixed but cost me some international shipping fee and long wait.
My watch screen was dead just after an afternoon nap, and I didn't know shix about what had happened. I can blind-control it but the image is screwed.

EDIT: DEAD AGAIN 2 DAYS AFTER THE REPAIR!!! I may probably NEVER going to buy any LG product in the future.
Hmmm.....
it seems to me that there is something wrong with either the design or the quality of manufacturing as there are a few of us suffering similar screen related issues.
I'm RMA'ing mine back to the UK, which will cost me shipping but I'm tempted to just sell it straight away once I get it back. I could then wait for a next gen watch which shouldn't be too far away.
how long did u guys use this watch and when it start going wrong?
i just fall in love with this watch, im seeking more information before i really buy it
Hi to all guys.
Let me describe my sad history.
After a week using G Watch R with 5.0.1, I have noticed that my device got disconnected.
I started searching over Internet to find solutions. Yes I have tried resetting the watch and even my smartphone Sony Xperia Z1 compact. Nothing helped.
I decided to broke my warranty and flash the phone. After flashing, pairing worked again. But for 5 minutes. And pairing lost again. F*ck.
I decided to reset, not working, flashed again. Able to pair again.
After flashing many times my watch was hot enough.
I put it under the water, to make them a little cooler. And F*uck, my watch started to play a game with me. It became dark. I felt really tired and put my watch on table. Next morning I woke up and saw little drops of water on heartrate sensor. Tried to turn it on, it vibrated, but got hot and I left them alone. I thought that watch was dead after it. Next day I opened the watch, a left it for few days to become dry.
After this I can turn them on, touchscreen worked, but was dark. Okay I digged deeper and tried to clean every contact with alcohol. Then left them alone again for few hours.
After that I tried to turn them on and F*uck again, the screen turned on. For now not all screen become as normal, but it is better than nothing.
So my screen tries to recover and got much better after hours being "turned on".
That's my sadly history. Maybe it will be helpful for you.
The question I wanted to ask, how to solve this problem with disconnections until reflashing?

RMA immediately. It's bad contact somewhere between the screen and the motherboard, and it's not repairable by third party unless you replace the whole screen which is hard to come by.
Thanks for the advice. I've fedex it back to Korea. Sad that I have to bear the round trip costs.

I just had this issue..Can I ask how much it cost you to fedex it... From Malaysia too..:crying:
This sounds suspiciously like a bootloop I experienced on my old LG G Watch, after sideloading an update. The /system partition had filled up, and the screen went dark like that, eventually wearing out the battery. Obviously, my watch had been unlocked and rooted. Is yours?

Whoop, my watch screen is also failing. The screen randomly flickers and flashes. The weird thing is that when it's doing this, I can see content that's outside the circular boundary (usually just flat white).

Hi, Fedex cost me rm100, and got taxed by Korea (Seriously no idea why, as I already stated RMA), another rm100 :crying:
Seller told me that LG said it was a motherboard problem.

Same here guys
I got my watch as a gift for my birthday and i got to use it about 15 min before the screen just went black (batterry was at 94%) and that meant the dead of it.
Whatever i had done to boot it, reset it it does not respond, it does not vibrate nothing. Tried pushing the button for 3-4-6-8-10-15-20-40 seconds and still nothing, even pressed it multiple times. My CPR is not so good.
I'm sad because somebody really struggled to get it for me. I feel me hands are tied behind my back as i don't know where to repair it..no LG headquarters around me.
If you know any fix for this please let me know.
Until then i'm still praying

That's not a solution for me, ain't got no Warranty.... still i would pay for the repair..but i don't know where to take it to.
I let the batterry drain for a few days,,, then put it to charge...the device booted...once it got connected to my phone...ii froze...the screen wen't black...and it was dead again..until the next batterry drain...when i had it charged..this time it didn't even get to connect to my phone (Bluethoot off) and it froze again. Now it doesn't even start from batterry 0% when i have it charged....it's like a combination of software (OS is really bad) and hardware (charging and not only) issue.
I guess this is the birthday present i deserve......for wanting it so much.....i have it ...but i do't have it....
