The differences are noted on the Opening Post. mike1986 for the most part has always tried to keep ARHD's look and feel pretty stock although his tweaks simply make Sense very usable.
Already read the post..It say i need new Hboot but my current Hboot is 6.1.3 which mean that i cant flash the rom..
Me too. I'm keeping away from anything that wants me to switch to blackrose hBoot. It's a pity, I like ARHD. Mike, do something, to make /lib a part of root partition, than as a separate partition, as needed by HTC ICS 4.04.

You install it through windows or from adb. Check the blackrose topic.

AFAIK that new /lib partition is needed because otherwise / or /system will be too small. So, as I understand it some time you'll have to upgrade hboot or you can't use the latest ROMs...

to a first approximation, it appears to work fine without blackrose.
I installed ARHD3.0 on my IncS with HBOOT 6.13 this morning and no problems so far.

I just put this file (http://d-h.st/SjY) on an SD-Card & boot into bootloader to flash BlackRose, but I have full S-OFF with XTC-Clip so I'm not sure what other configurations are able do this!
[PG32IMG.zip link & file courtesy of Inferi0r]
P.S. Removing BlackRose is a different story. I have to use the official binary through windows to command it to uninstall.

Hi.
I just recently bought a new Incredible S and have been reading up on how to get a ICS rom.
According to the Guides in order to have root, i need S-OFF, and I can use Revolutionary if the HBOOT ver is 1.13.000.
But according to what i've read "HTC has released a OTA update for Android 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 and has bumped the HBOOT version to 2.01.0001".
And if so, to S-OFF i need to downgrade.
However after i updated my Incredible S to 2.3.5 my HBOOT ver is still 1.13.000.
Is this normal? Can I use the Revolutionary to S-OFF, without having to downgrade and with no problems?
Thanks.
Should be no problem. Do you have a link to the OTA?

Oh. Thanks. I hope not.
If by OTA you mean the 2.3.5 update, I don't think I do, i updated directly from the phone.
If 2.3.5 with sense 3.0 run on IncS, it should not boot because there is a new partition named and stored lib files. I think your phone is s-offed. Can you take a photo?

Lol @ damn. He means it already should not be booting. You're definitely s-on, are you sure you have 2.3.5 sense 3? The thing with gaining s-off is the fact that most faults are if fact recoverable.
If you're worried about not being able to boot I suggest you first download the custom rom of your choice, then run revolutionary. Using their cwm, make a backup of your stock rom then restart and check if it does in fact boot. If it does not, simply press and hold all 3 buttons(volume up + volume down + power) to reset. Never remove the battery while the phone is booting if you can avoid it. Then enter hboot the usual way, to recovery and flash your rom.
I suggest you upgrade revolutionary cwm as soon as you are up and running.

I don't think I fully understood.
So I can still get S-OFF to root?
I checked better and you're right I DO have 2.5.5 but only sense 2.1.
Should I get sense 2.1 update? Or not update and try S-OFF the way it is?
Thanks.

Yes if you truly have HBOOT version 1.13, you should be able to run Revolutionary to gain S-OFF and install ClockworkMod recovery. After that you should do a nandroid backup and then you will be free to install custom, rooted ROMs.

I had installed BlackRose a month ago. And now I tried to flash the new radio, but adb says "no devices found" when in fastboot usb. In recovery it finds it tho.

Thanks anyway.

Hmm, I've never really played around with the bootloader. I got my phone from another XDA member, who had already rooted it. So the only thing I've ever done (on my Inc S anyway) is flash ROMs. Is there a reason I would need to get Blackrose on my phone?
According to the bootloader I have:
VIVO PVT ENG S-OFF RL
HBOOT-0.96.2000 (PG3212000)

You need blackrose if you want to install ICS
You guys can also use this PG32IMG.zip to get blackrose. Just place it on your sd card, boot in bootloader and just wait. Tell me if it works, don't have the device anymore.
who needs / why do we need this??
I've been able to flash both sense ICS roms and AOSP roms before now - does that mean I don't need it??
thanks

It looks like you need the new unlocked bootloader for the new real ICS roms. Everyone need this. No matter what you have done and used before. But you can also wait for the new blackrose, so you're sure to have the right one.
I guess this worked for me
I had HBOOT 6.13.1002 and now it is HBOOT 2.00.0000

Its been said by some users that blackrose isn't needed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28490846&postcount=5266
Or if you want to install blackrose,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28507018&postcount=5298
The reason behind using blackrose is because of some new partitions, which save space on the /system partition of the phone, in case you run out of space there (I didn't have this problem with the sense ICS roms I use on revolutionary hboot like yours)
If you can't install busybox or something in /system, you might need blackrose
Hope that helps
really? can you provide me the link please?

Your call, I would say you dont need it, I would try install them rom with the hboot you have, and if it runs fine, you obviously dont have to upgrade
I want to install Blackrose but I cannot find anything that shows how to achieve this new HBOOT. My device is currently running hboot 0 35 0017.

Are you upgrading blackrose software or flashing a new HBOOT? Did you review the video clips?
The only reason I was asking because it say in the first line
BlackRose
This is Nexus One custom bootloader(Based on HBOOT 0.35.2017)
And I know its a difference but wasnt sure it would bootloop me or something but if 0017 is fine, im fine with that.
from the OP of blackrose thread m it says latest blackrose supports 0017 aswell. but if you want to change to 2017 . download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18141273&postcount=116
and flash it via recovery. and then install blackrose.

Review the change log on the OP to see whether your phone needs to upgrade for the changes, if your phone doesn't need then you are good with the current Blackrose.

it wrote there that i need first to flash Hboot, i downloaded the Rom however there is nothing named Hboot, where can i find the download link for hBoot? and how do i flash the Hboot?
what is the recommended hboot to flash?
do i must to flash hboot(Also if i have already hboot?)
i am new with nexus one...
thanks alot
buddy u got to need to do some reading before touching hboots.
actually nexus one s /system partition size is not enough to fit ICS/JB roms. cos of their big /system requirements.
so for this a workaround has been discovered. that is to install BLACKROSE. after installing blackrose. u can change hboots according to rom reqs n flash the above mentioned roms.
