Hey, for one week or so I cannot get a GPS signal. I am on Zeus 6.35N and used the GPS fix for Europe (I live in Germany). Any solutions/suggestions?

Hi,
I've got a french V1615 by sfr and an "illimythics" data plan.
I try to connect with palringo (http://www.palringo.com/)
but the connection is impossible.
I try to change the registery settings :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Parlingo/Settings
"Connection/Proxy/Host" : 195.115.25.129
"Connection/Proxy/Port" : 8080
"Connection/Proxy/Type" : 1
but i still got the " connection loop " problem.
Do i have to change the user agent ?
Opera mini works fine
thanks in advance for you'r help

Hi there,
I think you shouldnt set "type" to 1 (it means HTTPS)
Which I don't think is correct for SFR Proxy
Give it a try with type=0, and let us know how it works.
(comment based on http://forum.palringo.com/archive/index.php/t-64.html)
You may also find these (currently undocumented) registry settings useful:
Connection/Proxy/Host - The hostname for your proxy server
Connection/Proxy/Port - The port for your proxy server
Connection/Proxy/Type - 1 for HTTPS proxy
(all settings have string type)
This will allow Palringo to tunnel it's traffic through an HTTPS/SSL proxy.

re. The password: this will be obscured in future versions. Note, however that the settings are stored in HKCU, which by default is not accessible to other users of a shared system

thanks
It works now just by switching from 1 to 0.
gtalk is working like a charm
thanks again

I'm sorry to bump this topic again, but i need some help!
I'm using a limited connection as the one you've mentioned, it's an Orange network in Israel.
I use this proxy : 192.118.11.56:8080
Unfortunately this trick and registry change didn't work. I always get the "Reconnect pending" message.
I also tried to change the value of the proxy type to "0" as sebbes suggested, but nothing :S
I think that this WAP proxy is HTTP and not a secured HTTPS one. Can this be the reason for not working?
I'd like to hear suggestions on how to make this work.
Thanks!!!

You have to add the values manually
I have a Tytn II on UK Orange. I intend to use the wifi intesively with my Exchange server for push email etc , but when I am not in a wifi zone I dont want it to automatically use any of 3g/gprs/hsdpa.
I may sometimes need to use them (hopefully activating 3g manually) if I am out and about.
I can disable hsdpa, but cannot find a way of disabling 3g/gprs without deleting the profiles in connection manager (which would mean I would have to create the profile again everytime I wanted to use it out of the office).
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Tom
i cant quite remember, but is there and option to do this in kaisertweak?

You gave yourself the answer.
What happens if you created another profile that is empty instead of deleting?

Hi dude
if your intend is only to not allow to any apps to automatically use your data connection but only the wi-fi try in this way:
settings -> connections (or networks, i'm not english, sorry!) -> connections -> advance -> network selection, and there put "office network" in the both options! In this way all your apps never use your provider data connection!
I don't know how to manage different profiles, as you said, however an other way to control the connections is by installing this CommManager or look this other one with the 3G button, so you can manually turn it on/off!
hope to help you!
Ciao

Just an update that the application does work on my O2 XDA Stellar. You can toggle the connections on and off as and when you require just by a single click.

Once i have done this i need to put on the latest rom. Question is which one, as there is not one for three uk?? Do i just use another rom and manually change the internet settings etc so it works with three.
Is there any process i have to follow, or is there any easy way to get it set up with all three uks settings

This application should (which Runs from the PC) should put all the Three settings and others you need) if the auto configuration program does not pick your SIM up.

I don't think you need to update the radio but v1.00.25.05 is recommended

What advantage is there to using this if your phone has automatically configured itself? Does it optimise the settings?

Can you post a track?
Whichever other settings you use, you will definitely also want to use the closest ntp time server pool in the gps.conf file. By default this is set to north-america.pool.ntp.org, so for most of the world, this is not the most optimal time server to use (internet latency introduces jitter into the accuracy of the time supplied).
You certainly can't do any harm changing this to your own continent, or even better your own country!
I use uk.pool.ntp.org here in the UK.
FasterFix program (from XDA developer) makes it easier to change the gps.conf file for you.

Thx for the reply,
I am from holland so what exactly i need to change?
Best regards
This thread hopefully explains it and gives you the software to make the changes a doddle.
Background on what it does, and how to pick a better ntp pool to use is in this post (and the one after) in that thread.
Any questions are probably best asked in that thread to keep this one clean.

That's give me the best results than ever.
Hope that's help you a little : )
