Temple run lagfree???? - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a lagfree port of temple run for our ace. If not can our ace really run this game lagfree (ever).
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium

Temple run is modded bad for armv6 and has also some bug reported from many users then is normal that lag, you can try to use some programs for improve your performance as chainfire3D, ram manager, set cpu, sd speed increase, swapper (if you have a kernel that support the swap), and change your dalvik vm heap size from 64 to 128mb and maybe works better but however don't forget that the game is modded bad then also with this tricks can lag.

[Q] Does the OC really make any effectiveness on Galaxy mini?

I've just flashed emanoN v3, it has No-Frills CPU control app by default, I used this app to set my CPU like this: Max 710Mhz, Min 245Mhz, Governor performance, I/O scheduler deadline --> Apply on Boot.
But is it me or it doesn't make any work on my Galaxy mini? I still get lag on many games like when not overclocked!
should i use chain fire 3D?
[Sorry 4 my bad English ]

I did, but
should I use chainfire3d instead of NO-Frills ?
Chainfire 3D is graphics tool for better optimization of games and other 3D apps.
Did you check Apply on boot option?
as in my question: I checked Apply on boot option
If OC doesnt make any work on galaxymini, why did they add it in custom ROM 4 galaxymini?
Try other rom like CM 7.2 overclocking worked for me.
why doesn't the OC make any work on Noname ??!!
A tried over-clocking a couple of times but I really didn't feel the difference, except the battery drain, of course. Now-a-days, I don't even care to over-clock.
I am having my mini with cm7.1.0 music edition and overclocked it to 782 MHz and I find that in set CPU native benchmark I found that it took 900 micro second less when I clocked it to 782 MHz so I can say that Oct really works it also make my device run more smoothly its true that some games like angry birds lags yet after oc

OC can improve device's performance, but that improvement was identified by ur own experiences or measurement software?
that's right, I've got lag in angry birds even after OC
my phone is OCed at 782mhz and it's lag free everything works flawlessly...

Many games are tailored towards devices with 1Ghz processors and newer (including dualcore and advanced GPU's like the Tegra2 and Exynos chipsets). Don't expect the latest games to run reliably on a sub-800Mhz singlecore device.
Apps that require Chainfire3D are unlikely to work very well at all on the SGM as they're generally aimed at the higher-performance devices.
If you want to see the difference an overclock makes, then run an AnTuTu CPU benchmark before & after overclocking. If the figure doesn't change much (You should expect an increase roughly relative to the % of the overclock) then something isn't working correctly.
I can play Need For Speed Shift without any lag

yup! I just expect the Oc makes change that I can feel thru my own experiences! I dont want to see a good result on Antutu then THINK my device has better performance!!! U know what I mean?
btw, just looked ur signature, u r a serious guy, arent u? haha! It's a cooler way (that's what they thought) to write, why so serious
We are lucky because s5570 is equipted with gpu. Why dont you try using cm7.2 oc with 782 kernel. Plus a2sd and v6 supercharger.

Temple Run Performance

Is there anyone playing Temple Run without lags on the Nexus one? If so, can you please tell me your ROM + kernel and specs. Thanks.
I'm running KANG CM7 Nightly, with Tiamat GB kernel...and i overclock it to 1228/460, with LAGFREE Governer... but i still experience lag. On the other hand, my HTC Desire Z is all stock, and it runs without any problems?
If anyone knows a solution, please post it here as it will help me and many others. Thank you
I think its due to the graphic card not enough powerfull
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
I experience lag in both GB and ICS. I think it's a GPU limitation. It just get worse as the game gather speed.
Lag spikes (a second or two) on hummingbird which supposedly has higher clocked CPU and a graphics chip that is 2 times more powerful than the icrap 4.
The game is just badly optimised for android, needs a bloody dual core to run lag free ... while my friend with iPod touch 2g w/412MHz CPU & super slow PowerVR MBX Lite doesn't experience that kind of lag.

TRUE...!!!

use chainfire3d
It will "crawl" if successed opened.
DOWNLOAD games tweaked for galaxy mini by searching terms like galaxymini games blogspot ,or lycanbd or andropalace in google and downloading games from these websites.
FOR ADVANCED USERS:
1.create swap partition of 128 to 256 Mb to play temple run like games quite smoothly.
2.dont overclock galaxy mini over 787 MHZ as it dis-stabilizes mini are degrades phone performance
3.u can force gpu rendering by editing egl.cfg file (SEARCH XDA FORUM FOR DETAILS)
4.u can use chainfire 3d and reduce texture size and lower all settings, and select qualcom as plugin.
5.LASTLY u can switch to different roms as different roms give different performance in different games.
HOPE THIS HELPS
Don't push your phone to hard
amazing spiderman can't run on mini, Gpu not supported. Ram to small.
You want kill and bricked your phone??? Than smash it to the ground. like a Junk???

Try overclocking to 804, use Chainfire to reduce graphics, get the Armv6 version from the web, pretty sure there is one.
you don't make hd games run on galaxy mini, as they barely crawl... wanna play games? get a decent pc or gaming console!
Yeah...!! You can't run hd games on galaxy mini but you can get the modded version of some hd games you can get it from andropalace.net.. But games like spiderman run only on phones having armv7 processor..

Hi , that´s my opinion
Twice 10.1 or JB port , have a problem with battery duration (and other minor bugs)
the game play are so laggy ,and you really have a slow experience with diary use.
AOkp I think that is trustworthy to the JB use. but the same with lag .
Thanks for your work !!!! and I hope you get new roms updates.
Sorry for my english...
jelly bean requires a lot of more RAM than GB. That's why there is some lag, I suggest to use smartassv2 as CPU governor if you need performance, if you need to save battery use interactiveX.

Is it possible to fix the camera now?. Since preview problem seems to be known now?
i tried installing cm-10.1-20130629-UNOFFICIAL-jena today but get an error 7.
factory reset, cache partition and dalvik cache have been wiped, i`m using cwm 6.0.3.2.
versioncm-10.1-20130611-UNOFFICIAL-jena works without any problems.
what could i be doing wrong ?
edit: i returned to the working version and flashed it new because i finally wanted to get rid of the gapps package i installed before.
however even after flashing 0611 again gapps still seem to be on my system.
do i have to wipe anything else i`m not aware of ? the target is a cyanogen 0611 or 0629 without any gapps
do you have cwm 6.0.3.2 build 4 ?
ohh! it`s build 3 actually!
thx a lot! will give it a try at once
no problem
it worked perfectly thanks again!
the only thing i`m still facing is that gapps still seem to be on the system from a previous installation, although i wiped the 3 settings mentioned above.
is 0629 supposed to have the play store, services and other google named services? can i get rid of them somehow?
edit: solved, i had to format /system /data /cache. now gapps and other parts of the previous installations are definitely gone. happy happy!
The performance greatly depends on the game you're playing. Currently with CM10 20130629 (the NFC patch doesn't work, BTW) I have good performance with Icy Tower 2, but micro lags on Jetpack Joyride. Of course both of these games run perfectly on stock, but Icy Tower 2 has some graphical glitches not appearing on JB. But Jetpack Joyride is a lazy port from iOS and it can stutter even on better phones. But the overall performance is just fluid. Will test Vice City later to see if a lot has changed since April 2013, when I lastly tested VC on CM10.
those "micro lags" are because of RAM. I had an old PC with 256MB (!) RAM like 5-6 years ago, when I played NFSMW, I would get freezes/lags each 3-5 seconds, the loading screen took ages to load, then I put in another 512MB and everything was fine. No lags/freezes, loading screens didn't load forever etc.
On cm10 and cm9 for less ram usage i went to Developer options, scrolled to the bottom and set background processes to 1 or 0.
There are no these options on cm10.1, right? I dont know did you mean slow ramread/write or high usage with old pc example...
Sent from my GT-S6500D using xda app-developers app
Ahh...the old-school NFSMW - one of my favorite games of all time.
But Android manages RAM differently than Windows, so 512MB shouldn't be a problem because it runs file on stock 2.3.6.
Looks like Jetpack Joyride stutters when there are certain sprites drawn. Seems to be some kind of GPU thing. If GTA VC runs better than this, I'll uninstall this crap.
That was just an example that RAM matter a lot in games. Temple Run 2 uses >100MB. Imaging what more demanding games require. I have about ~50-60MB free RAM when the phone is idle.
I have 210 at idle and still same lag and low fps as it is when 120 is free
Edit: cm9 has more than 100mb/s faster ram read speed than cm10, .1, aokp. And it has performance as good on 800mhz as cm10 has at 1.05ghz. Stock rom read is 500 mb/s, cm9 450, cm10 350
Sent from my GT-S6500D using xda app-developers app
Well, looks like that's the problem. I noticed that actually earlier when people were posting benchmark results, everything was higher than on stock, except for the RAM speed.
I guess there's nothing to do about it? It's all in the kernel.
Probably gpu performance depends on ram speed... So improving ram speed will improve gaming performance and overal performance of the device in cm9, cm10, cm10.1 and aokp.

thanks for your job TheWhisp CM 10.1 is awesome like you thank you very much
I don't know which games you play but I play various gba roms and hacks via my boy emulator and it is very smooth. those temple run etc. do not appeal to me. If they were then probably I would have bought a better phone. but know this. Mini 2 is not a phone to play games.
oh and a question to @TheWhisp cm10.1 or aokp. whats the difference. which one do you prefer?
You fixed camera using same liboemcamera?

[Q] how to increase s advance ram by swap partion?

Hi iam new here
I have s advance with android 4.1.2 stock rom and with cocore e 6.2 kernal
The problem is I like playing games on my phone like asphalt 8 but sometimes it lags and
Crash because of low free ram , the used ram is about 515 . So I heard about a method to increase
Ram capacity by swap partion . So I was wondring if this method works on my phone ? and will it
Make Games run faster and wont make any problems to the phone ?
Please respond
Thanx
AFAIK those things are for phones with only 512 MB (or less) RAM.. I also heard that using your external SD card as ram for long time can damage it. But I don't know if that's true...
Like many other latest games, Asphalt 8 is a very "heavy" game.. so it requires newer and better hardware.. our phone's GPU can't handle this game with ease so that's why it lags... so its not only because of RAM, its also because of the GPU and CPU.. so I don't think it will make any drastic increase in performance or fps..
Take a look at CoCore's thread.. I think Cocafe mentioned how to use zRam and Swap using init.d scripts..
PS: Use a good Custom ROM with the latest version of CoCore kernel.. version 6.2 is quite old.. or use CM ROMs...

Thanks for replaying . not only asphalt 8 lags but also some other games like sonic dash and temple run ..etc
And I downloaded and installed cocore e 8 it made my battry runs out fast so installed cocore 6.2 which saves battry .
And idont know alot about custom roms but you may tell me the best one and has no bugs .
CM 10.2 latest build is very good. Extremely stable. Battery is decent, still less than satisfactory. No bugs AFAIK . No random reboots. No force closes. Games that work very smoothly - temple run (all versions),subway surfers, dead trigger 1 & 2 ,GTA vice city.
Asphalt 8 lags when started but settles down afterwards and works decently.
P.S. - Don't judge your phone performance on basis of used RAM. Jelly bean is supposed to use more RAM.
Hope I helped.
