Is there a way to enable landscape mode on the sense homescreen? I saw it done on the one x, with an hdmi adapter.
Just one of the big things I miss from windows mobile.
You can put it into dock mode
Yeah, I mean the home screen entirely.
I dont think there is , u should better install go launcher

Weirdly, my One X has literally just started going into landscape mode on the homescreen. Unrooted, no OTA update as far as I am aware. Never done it before, but picked it up just now and there it was! Can anyone explain?

Although this technically should go in the One X forums, it's an easy response. Landscape Mode is built into Sense's launcher in Sense 4. The sudden rotation has been seen before. However, in my experience using the One X, it didn't always work either. Anyways, point is, Landscape mode on the Sense 4 launcher is normal. Trying it on devices running previous versions of Sense (With the exceptions being phones like the EVO Shift) will not do anything. HTC demonstrated this feature with the introduction of Sense 4 and their revamped lineup.
A orientation locking app can keep the launcher orientation in landscape if you want it to in Sense 4. Doing so on older versions of Sense will lead to unpleasant (although not harmful) results.

The moto droid lock screen. i haven't stumbled across any topics mentioning it, and haven't hearts about anyone attempting to port it. But personally, I like it. Its a combination of the sense and iphone. And it doesn't cover the entire screen, doesn't have a background. I'm hoping someone can port it in the near future.

I'm pretty sure it's just the standard Eclair lockscreen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649299
No that's not what I saw. It had the curved bar like htc going across, but had a slide to unlock feature. Maybe it was an installed app. It Was on display at verizon store.

theres a program called lockbot i tried that offers that screen. didnt really care for the program overal though. give it a shot you might like it.
Omg! Are you gary busey?? Lol

That was the old lock screen on the first release of the Moto Droid. After the first software update, they switched to the standard Eclair lock screen.
EDIT.. The latest version of Aloysius utilizes the lock screen you are looking for.
Hello, I'm coming from my One XL and wondering about my bf's HTC Raider's very recent stock pushed update to ICS 4.0.3 and sense 3.6... I'm noticing HTC did the same thing with the raiders' update that they did with the One XL and horribly broke multitasking... My bf is pretty choked about it, and I'm disappointed in HTC's move to do this. I was planning to downgrade his phone back to stock gingerbread with sense 3.(1?) but wanted this community's feedback, perhaps recommend a Rom with ics and non broken multitasking?
After a quick glance, I can't see much reference to this problem for you guys.

What do you mean, broke multitasking?
Specifically - whats broken about it?
Say, he opens a web browser, then switches to music player, then back to web browser, just as one example of many... The web browser will reload the web page because the application was actually shut down when another process was initiated. The same thing with Facebook and many other apps. This is an issue very similar with the HTC One X out-of-the-box; HTC has "decided for us" that we don't need more than "X amount of processes" running simultaneously. With this said, the Raider handled multitasking extremely well pre-update with no problems at all; he could switch between chrome, trillian, music, the camera, and multitudes of other apps without any app ever needing to reflow.
I don't understand HTC's desire to cripple their phones as of late... The Raider worked beautifully and I'm disappointed to see HTC take this rout. The One X would work beautifully if HTC just screwed off with this vicious multitasking policy.
Edit: I'd also like to report that this update has also suddenly caused his phone to start overheating, too... Damn near burned my hand just holding the raider.

Apps usually get killed when the system needs to free up RAM, right? Could an app be eating up all your free RAM? Run SystemPanel Lite (free in the play store) to check out your CPU usage (re: the heat?) and your free RAM (re: apps being closed?)
Re: Going back to GingerBread. I don't know if the stock Gingerbread RUU rom will allow it to flash now that you are on the ICS update. I tried that once. It threw an error (complaning that the HBOOT fw version was not what it expected). I like ICS. Running a custom rom (Holics 1.2).

Applications are also killed (as of the Raider update, and stock for One X) after X Amount of processes are opened... Which is horrible because that even seems to include background processes... At least I think so. I'm surprised to see lots of ICS custom roms for the Raider and no reference to these issues, or any mention of this update. :/ But its definitely the update that's screwing my bf's phone.

Hypothetically, could I not flash a custom gingerbread Rom with cwm/twrp or would that cause issues? I'll see if he has any issues with a custom ICS Rom first, since this push update is so new maybe you guys haven't had a chance to mess with it yet... but IF it was necessary, wouldn't that work?

You could try searching the forums for the SUPERCHARGER script... That might help?
I know it makes minfree adjustments...
I have used it before...
Also... I don't experience the problem your talking about running MIUI...

I haven't tried it yet, but last time I used it with my One X, it didn't produce any real results since the task-killer-thingy is, I read, embedded into the newer sense framework itself or something. Definitely worth a shot though...

Under development options theres something like Background Process limit...I found it plunking around with my HTC phone. Try that maybe? Google what it does, but im pretty sure it will kill your last process if you set it to no background processes.
If you tried this already sorry it didn't work
Do we know yet if htc has fixed the multitasking in the one. I had an x and x+ and the thing could not have more than a couple apps open at one time. It was quite annoying going into your mail app from the browser and having your browser reload when you go back into it. This drove me nuts.
If htc fixed that on the one I will be first in line to get one. If not then i will take a pass.
I read some article (hands-on) and it said multitasking is great, the phone just flew between apps
This is one thing I am looking for as well. I can't stand the multi tasking on my one x. It is completely useless. Couldn't even switch between two apps without having to reload them. I had also heard in one of the hands on videos I believe that they said the multi tasking had been fixed as well. But I'm still waiting for a thorough review.

But, yeah, I have the SGS3 now and it's nice to actually have multitasking compared to my HOX. I miss the non-pentile screen so much and I will definitely be pre-ordering one of these.
Lol hey I knew that post looked familiar! he was just quoting without the quotes heh. Yea I have the hox and my buddy has the s3 and it absolutely drives me nuts that he can actually multi task...I almost stopped using the button on this phone as it is near useless.

i read that it is limited to the last 9 apps you have used (which is more than enough i think)
so hopefully that means they have sorted it but could only get the last 9 working.
I'm fine with the last 9 working, as long as they are truly staying in some sort of saved state and pull back up to where you were at without reloading I'll be ecstatic.

9 apps only? With 2GB of RAM? A complete TRAGEDY!
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
The problem is if those 9 apps are actually held in RAM or not. The HOX showed plenty of apps in the recent app list, it's just that they had all been killed already so it re-loaded from scratch.
Hopefully HTC have learnt, and if not then 2Gb RAM should make a difference too
M.
very nice
Any one get the ONE already can give some view on the mulitask performance?
If you you open several APP, like web browser and other APPs, when you switch back to web browser will it reload the pages?
Seems to work flawlessly none of the nine apps refresh

The phone will not have any multitasking problems with 2 gigs of RAM.
One X had only 1 gb, that's why it sucked with more than 2 apps open.

1g shall work fine for multitask, but one x has special handling to deal with multitask that cause it a problem. It killed app when memory still very much.
So we need ONE user to give their feedback on how good it is now.
Can someone with the One make a video and post it up please.
Go to Youtube Desktop version, play the video to 1 min in, Press home, go into email app, Press home then go to task Switcher app, Click on Youtube and see if the video is still at 1 min mark or it refreshed.
Its a deal-breaker for me

This would be interesting to know... Its not a deal breaker for me as memory management is fairly easy to modify with root. But it will still be annoying.
Root never fixed it on the one x for me despite tweaking

Hello. I'm using ARHD 10.3. When I use the app ultimate guitar it zooms out so much that it looks like the app recognizes this phone as a tablet. It also happens with a few other apps.I've attached a screenshot. Anyone else experiencing this.

1. Why do you open a thread for this? Next time ask in the arhd thread.
2. I dont have this issue. Did you mess with the screen density?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Are you sure this is ARHD specific?
If not my guess is the app is written in something like jQuery mobile (not native) and it sets layout depending on resolution rather than device-width and I'd report a bug.
I don't think its ARHD specific. World of Goo, Angry Birds, and Connectbot all load in what appears tablet mode on my One, Connectbot in particular comes in with text about two millimeters high. It looks like the text is coming in at a set pixel height and because of the One's pixel density the text is too small to be readable.
Well I've tried to search everywhere and play with every option on my phone I have an HTC One m7 they just did an update today on my phone and there's this ugly ass emerald green everywhere and I can't find the option to change it or get rid of it or revert. Any help guys?

Yup I hate it too, why they would choose that colour as standard is beyond me, that's why I will only use a custom sense 6 rom where you can change all of that.
Anyway, go to settings - personalize - themes to change it for now.
or you could root, download xposed installer and then sense 6 toolbox to change it, a bit more complicated though.
Yeah I did that I selected the thing that has black in it and a picture of a frozen um evergreen branch or some ****. But still everything I touch is highlighted in green and all of my contacts that don't actually have pictures have big ****ing square green patches on them. You know I'm no stranger to rooting and flashing. I usually end up doing it toward the end of my contract that's usually when the phone starts ****ing up to. But I love this phone so much the way it is. Trust me a time will come and overclocking along with free wifi for everyone. **** sprint they can lick my balls. It's better than a iphone but we're not there yet the fellas.

Yeah I had Viper ROM on my htc evo 3d I liked it I also liked the CyanogenMod. But to tell you the truth I prefer the stock look. But I like the overclocking and the access to WiFi sharing. You know I noticed the more and more you mod a phone it's like an addiction he keeps throwing **** from everywhere together little bit from here a new skin from there. I knew kernel from another place then you flash the radio. And then you end up with a hodgepodge. And then you brick your phone lol

Welcome to the world of wanting your device your way. Either flash a rom or redo the hundreds of xml and image changes to get rid of the green.
Well I decided to call HTC and ask them about it and I told them I've been a customer with them since the hero and then the HTC EVO 3d and now the HTC One m7 and I explained the situation and they basically told me well it's all part of sense 6 and there's no way you could take it out so you're SOL.
