Any thoughts on this keyboard? Is it any good?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

I had one. The quality is kind of so-so (and so is the mouse) but if you're not typing much this is a pretty good deal considering it's new in the box.
I'd say if you are going to use the keyboard a lot, get the Logitech.

Thanks for the heads up. Was looking for something like this .

I've got the Motorola keyboard/mouse combo, the mouse is ok and the keyboard is just fine. I reckon if anyone is typing so much that the keyboard becomes a problem then a tablet isn't the best thing to be using.

I was considering this, but I prefer a case with keyboard attached to it so I don't have to carry 2 "separate" devices.

I like that design/style also and have the Logitech Ultraslim for my iPad
(http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Ultr...420868&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+keyboard+slim)
and just picked up a Transformer Infinity with the dock.
However, I don't think a quality case that would fit the Nexus 7 could include a keyboard I'd find useful for lengthy periods of time due to the size of the tablet.

Has anyone received this yet?

I got some like the combo mentioned above but I found the keyboard way too small to be viable.

For those of you interested in seeing the controller work with the nexus 7 I have a video here. The intent of the video is to show it used for gaming but this show you that it works rather well.
http://youtu.be/8x3nbP4tx48
I also do an unboxing and overview video of the keyboard but this is with the xoom (originally what it was purchased for) a while ago.

Does anyone know what the key next to GMail is supposed to do? It's the 3 horizontal parallel lines key.
Thanks!
Edit: I think it is the menu key, but it doesn't work for me. Someone has a clue about this?

This does not mention ability to act a a stand either..I'll wait, the perfect case is coming!
the creases make it look like it has stand function but there are no pictures of it using the stand. That would be the determining factor for me. I need it to have a case that stand up.

I like it! Thanks for posting this. I'll bookmark it and wait for the price to drop.
If i can use it as a stand and it comes in COLORS... then we might have a winner
that's the one for me. Hope it's available in Amazon UK.
Best case so far. Shame that we never get a front only case , but i hope we get something close. I quite like the back as is, without adding an additional case.
Thanks for the find though!

Keyboard solutions?

Has anyone found a good keyboard set up for the nexus 7? I am starting school back up soon and would like to find an elegant and well functioning keyboard set up to take notes on my little tablet but haven't seen anything on here that catches my eye.
I can't from the transformer and the dock is the only thing I miss!
I recently saw that Samsung came out with a seven inch tab student bucks bundled that came with as little keyboard dock. Not sure if that would be compatible though.
Anyone find a good keyboard, dock, and our cars case for this?
Thanks

I second the Thinkoutside folding keyboard. I had read about it on one of these boards and recently picked up a used one to be used with both my Nexus 7 and HP Touchpad. It is nice and portable, and very comfortable (in my opinion) to use.
You can try and see whether you can pick one up on Craigslist or eBay.
Thanks a lot I will check it out. Do you guys use something separate to prop the tab up?
Edit: can't seem to find out in stock almost anywhere. Pretty pricy too for the few I found on eBay. Some seem to have a little cradle and some don't. Any difference? I'll keep an eye out though.
Any other suggestions?

The Verbatim Folding Bluetooth Keyboard is really good. The keys are wide and have good response. It's made for the iPad, so obviously their are some iOS specific keys that don't work, but other than that it's solid.
I posted a deal on a Motorola one the other day, it has a trackpad and Android hotkeys. If you can find one for a similar price then it would be worth it, otherwise I would suggest either the bigger Logitech ($50-$60) one or the HP Touchpad keyboard ($30).

I ordered a Zippy keyboard from NewEgg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823701033, and a bit cheaper at Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/Zippy-FULL-Function-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B004MMESVY
It is a bit smaller than I expected but it works well with the 7 as it is faster than the on screen keyboard and I only type with about 4 or 5 fingers anyway. Can be paired with 6 BT devices and switch between them. I haven't used it much yet, but it seems sturdy and well made.
I have a book type case that I prop up when using the keyboard and snagged a $5 Motorola BT mouse the other day on woot.

Any recommendations for non blue tooth keyboards? I don't really want yet another device to charge or use batteries with, and so a wired connection is fine By me. All the small ones I can find are BT. I'm looking for a chiclet style if possible.

Gaming Case

Is there anything like that for Note 2?

not that I have seen of. Some of us are using the GameKlip Universal with a sixaxias controller.
I have seen that and it looks awesome. But its not practical - I don't want to carry Sixaxis controller everywhere I go.

I use an iControlpad... it's the most portable and versatile game pad that I've found that can attach to the phone. It works as an external battery, too, so you can charge your phone off the game pads battery. They're about to release the iControlpad2, which will have a keyboard built in and has a much nicer design. Their website is icontrolpad.com.

Honestly you may think it looks bad but it is the smallest mount that I can possibly use with a quality playstation controller.
iControlPad looks awesome. I don't really care about keyboard, but since first version is sold out and due to other non-keyboard improvements. I will wait. Are there any news about price of that thing?
I like your controller, but as I said my goal here is to have portable controller that I can take anywhere (put it into my pocket). And PS controller can't be that.
I like the carrying case for the PS3 controller. I should look for something like that. I went with the GameKlip and Clingo Neklit. Not as portable as what the OP is wanting, but it's universal.
It really depends on what you are playing also.
If you truely want to play n64 the correct way then you must have a ps3 controller with the sixaxis app. I dont see any better way to get that type of control and that type of quality any smaller.
For a while I was actually looking at mini p3 controller lol. Never really found any great ones though.

That was the big thing for me, too... I wanted something easily pocketable. I pledged on their kick starter for the 2nd one, so I got one coming once it's produced. They had delays because they ended up adding LEDs and had to make some design changes, but they're finally about to go into production and plan to start shipping in March. I think the price will be around $70.
I'd be willing to sell or trade my original one once I get the 2nd version... or maybe sooner as I haven't had time recently to use it much anyways.

They must have found a very petite person, a child, or an adult with abnormally small hands to match that keyboard. Holy bat turds.
As for the OP, they're out there, but that kind of far and few between. What I think you're wanting is some kind of slideout keyboard attachment like the Naztech Bluethooth Slideout Keyboard, but I've only heard or seen these for the iPhone. I haven't seen anything close to it for the GN2.
You're not going to find something you can walk/stand and use with the GN2 without something to set the GN2 down on. If that's not an issue, I would look into portable blue tooth keyboards. There are lots of choices. I personally use a Freedom Pro.
As for the problem, you're hitting the same problem that has plagued vitural keyboards forever. Although, I find portrait mode, I can only see the keyboard. I prefer to see the app so I can see what I'm typing. I find when using the GN2 virtual keyboard, I either to do the one figure typing or the two thumbs. Both are only for short typing sessions. You may want to explore third party virtual keyboards such as SwiftKey. It's a bit easier to use as for as virtual keyboards go.

Yeah, from the shape of the hands looks like a kid.
You could use an2an (Android app from the playstore) and glue a droid 3 or droid 4 to the bottom of your phone. But it would be a massive brick, lol.
Seriously though, I would love something like that naztech slideout keyboard for the note 2.

Acrylic dock for nexus 10 and pogo cable

Hello,
After a long search on the internet to find a dock for my nexus 10 and my pogo cable, I decided to make my own.
I started by making some prototypes made with a sheet of depron and then I made my first with acrylic.
I am very happy to show you.

I hope you would post those internationally if you do make a few for sale cos I would love one too
Or you could be a true hero and post up the design to the forum ofc...
Very very nice... That looks really awesome....
I really think you are on to something here. I would absolutely be interested in one if you decide to produce.
I'm very interested too (I'm in Australia). I would think you could do very well selling them through Ebay or Amazon if you can produce them in quantity. :good:
Many thanks for your enthusiasm.
Simple, nice looking and functional. Is it "unmountable"? I mean, you get the pieces and put it togheter, and you can undo it? I would also be interested in this thing (15€ + shipping looks like a good price to me).
Just for help, you can ask some labs to produce this for you if you can model pieces in AutoCAD. I have seen them use the same machine they use with waveguides and PCBs, Maybe you can find some company that accepts this kind of works in metacrilate (not sure if correct word) or PCB material.
Good Luck!
I'm also very interested in the clear dock. Put it up on eBay or Etsy and I'll get in line
I work on it to improve and I will inform you soon.
Looks great
Let me know if you are making these are kits or maybe you should sell them on e-bay look great! I'd like to get one.
