hi,
you have to power off your device, than push the power- and volume down-button at the same time and you will come to the bootloadermenu..
now, connecting your device to your PC... in the bottom of display must SERIAL change to USB.. starting from now the rom-update on you PC...
its really easy and you changed already the bootloader, so that will no problem for you...

HELP!!! phone not working

I REALLY NEED HELP...
i was updating the rom to 2.21 and i guess i accidently closed the program.. sooo now my phone turns on to this screen.. it shows 3 colors.. i can not do anything..
i really need help.. what can i do to go back?
Ok, there's a chance that you just turned your phone into a nice little paperweight however, I recommend trying two things. First, try to perform a hard reset by following these steps:
1: Press and hold both the Comm Mannager Button and the Voice Command Button
2: While keeping those two buttons pressed, press the Reset Button with your stylus
3: After about a second you will be prompted for confirmation. Press the Talk Button to confirm
If that fails, try performing the ROM upgrade again. If THAT fails...well either my assumption is correct or you're gonna need someone more proficient than me to help you ^_^
i tried doing that.. that didnt work..
when you try to install the rom again.. the phone has to be connected with active sync.. and right now its not.. but if u look at the screen on the phone.. it says usb.. but it doesnt connect..
so idk what to do now..
i have another mda..
this one has the original ROM and it works.. is there anything i can do?
please help

If you have the bootloader screen(rainbow) it should be retrievable.
Just to be sure you enter the bootloader screen hold camera button and turn on.
The device should be able to connect to your pc, but not by activesync.
If it wont try disabling any firewalls or antiviral on the pc and try again.
Once the pc recognizes your device - run the rom upgrade again.
Fan-freaking-tastic!!!!
Thanks meschle !!!!
I had loaded a cingular rom onto a tmobile thinking all HTC roms should work alike (i know idiot sign is already on my forehead) and the phone was working but very slowly and sync did not work...
I checked and I could get to the bootloader screen (rainbow) as you suggested and then was able to load the original firmware just fine... Phew.. Saved my having to explain a $500 brick to folks.. lol
I have a question on this however, if I want to upgrade the radio or something other than T-MOBILE rom.. what do I need to look for to be sure it will work on my T-MOBILE ?
Cheers
and Thanks

you can still flash from bootloader mode
you can't connect via activesync but you should be able to connect still
make sure you don't have any virus protection firewall preventing the connection
then try flashing the button rom or something

First verify if your phone is establishing connectivity with pc through usb cable.Get into bootloaders and connect your phone with the pc via usb cable, verify if small usb appears at the bottom of the bootloader screen,if it appears then run the Ruu,if doesn't appear, then you have a either usb cable fault or mini usb port of the phone is damaged,it maybe that usb slot of the pc is not working, try with other usb input of the pc .
Cheers !
first i thank u for the time u took to help me out..
i tried several times to flash my rom and yeah i see the USB text in the corner of the screen, so im 100% sure the USB is working..
but im gonna try to flash it with the BUTTON ROM
are there other roms wich i can use for flashing my mda?
i mean wich roms are good for flashing my mda that stucked in bootloader..
cause the other ROMS didnt want to connect with my mda !

Big Problem?

I was performing the radio update on my MDAIII and now he hangs in the bootloader with USB in the upper middle und 2.08 in the under middle. All resets won`t bring it back to life. If I try to reinstall the update all I get is a blank message screen (update from version to version) in my Vista. How can I get out of there.
I did everything what was stated here
The original BAUpgradeUT won`t find my device. The MAUpgradeUt_noID.exe gives me the blank screen with the update from to screen.

I'm using a Vista PC.
After the Radio update to 1.15 the error described above is not to go away yet.
What to do, I'm nearly in tears.
Finally I got it back but with an old Romupdate from T-Online. Is there someone who got the QTC 9090 update (latest one)
That was fast..
im glad you solved your problem.
i think someone here has it.
just post what you need and make it as a title for others to read in the digest.
Im not a expert but is vista the problem??
Most likely.
Failed MDA II flash with vista notebook
Hello everybody,
I just read this thread in hope to find a solution for my problem, which is quite similar to the one described here initially.
I got a used MDA III with T_Mobile ROM. Since I'm a customer with O2, I wanted to change the ROM to O2 as well. I followed the directions given in an other thread here (don't have the link just now) and during the flashing, the flash application suddenly had no connection to my MDA III anymore. It was securely settled in its craddle an connected to my laptop via USB. Now my MDA III is stuck in Bootloader Mode with USB v2.07 displayed on the screen.
Each retry of installing either the O2 or the T_Mobile ROM now meet with the error 101: no connection. I read here that you managed to update successfully with a vista pc. Thus I wanted to ask, how you did that since I just don't seem to find the reason for the connection failing each time.
Here is what i tried to establish connection so far:
* disabled virus scanner & firewall
* unplugged the mda III and plugged it in again. It was recognized as a new device but that didn't help the connection issue
Could you please post what you did to make the update work under vista? Help would be greatly appreciated

Try on computer with Windows XP and kill activesynk (wcecomm.exe on taskmanager/processes)
Maybe it will work. If u cant flash O2 ROM try to use "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe". On my Qtek 9090 allways flash using this APPS and allways work.
U can try too format device first, put it on candle and use "mtty1.42.exe". On XP, kill active sync, and open mtty1.42.exe and select port USB and put OK. Do "Enter" on command and should appear USB>. After this write Task 28. This will format all your PC. Try install SO after this. This command delete all files on PPC. I have attach files that you maybe need.
thankfor the tipp and sorry for my late reply. Since I have no XP PC available i tried the mtty1.42.exe on my vista notebook. When i run it however, it only lists com port 1-3, no usb port. Do i have to make a special configuration on vista for it to work?
Thanks in advance,

In vista i dont know...sorry for my late reply too.... in XP u must kill ActiveSync process called wincecom.exe. in vista, maybe u have to kill the Windows Mobile Device Center....i dont know...
Dont forget, put the Qtek 9090 in Boot Loader Mode (Pressing Power Button + Record Button + Reset), maybe will appear USB and u can format the device.
If this does not work, try on Windows XP....Find a friend with Windows XP and ask him to use his PC only to do that.
Maybe somebody in forum have the Windows Vista and can help u....
Sorry my terrible english....

Try this
Downlaod the XDA IIs .exe file and run it - no need to put into USB mode
http://www.o2online.ie/wps/wcm/conn...es+&+accessories/Xda+Range/Software+upgrades/
this should reset to factory default (o2)

lol good luck. hope u dont really sound like borat
It's not bricked, you can just do what waffles said above, and you will be able to flash the correct ROM.
However, please be very careful not to flash the wrong type of radio to your phone, otherwise it *will* be permanently bricked.
Dear waffles510,
It worked. Thanks, many thanks. I walked around with my spare Nokia today wich was a nightmare. I missed al the tools on the TP2.
Now I wonder why I need to connect with the WMDC normally.
Thanks!

Pls next time put your question in the FAQ thread, which is stickied
Which country/provider do you live in/have? Is it Orange, Vodafone? Is your Tattoo unbranded?
First plug your phone in while switched ON.
For Orange install this: http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Click/RUU_Click_Orange_UK_1.67.61.7_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
For Vodafone this: http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Click/RUU_Click_Vodafone_UK_1.67.161.18_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
For a "normal" official HTC ROM this: http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Click/RUU_Click_HTC_WWE_1.67.405.6_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
Just start the exe and watch the magic
Greets and report back with the results dude!
Im from Sweden, got a provider called "Telenor" witch was/is Vodafone, only new ownership or something.. Shall i put the phone in "Htc Sync" -mode?

You wanna tell me that Azusa f***ed up your USB connection? Last chance:
1. Power your device off
2. Boot into Bootloader mode (I don't know if it was Volume Down + Red button or Home + Red Button). Press and hold Vol Down and then tap Power on button while holding Volume down...
3. When in boot mode, plug in your USB connection and wait until a few drivers are installed.
Then start the RUU image again...and keep the fingers crossed.
I have the same problem. I need install official ROM, because in my rom is not Market and i can´t root it(i think it Rom from Malaysia, because when i change language, there is English (Malaysia)). Nothing doesn´t work for me. I have Error 170, too, and plugin in bootloader doesn´t work.
you may try to make a goldcard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5179788&postcount=1 i think that's the problem
and then run the HTC WWE not orange or vodafone (english, and french )
I can't make a goldcard with this phone. It say's "Toolbox" whatever i write in CMD. (Im not noob in this) I'l have too use a other Htc Tattoo to make the goldcard.. Or anyone got any idéas? ..
Ok, I solved the problem with the Error 170. I can't post it here (prevent to spam), but search this in click development - [SOLVED] Flashing issues. Error 170 & 171 Win7 and Vista users. This thread help me.
EDIT: But i have another error. It says i haven't got right HTC ROM, i think i need branded rom. But i buy my mobile second hand and i don't know if it is branded and from which operator it is branded. How can i find it out?
