Hi there, you know the plastic caps at the top and bottom of the screen, can you get replacement ones for those? Mine has cracked.
I've seen some for the streak 5 i think: dellstreakrepairs.co.uk/spares.html "New Dell Streak Plastic End Caps" but assume that is for the 5 not 7?
Any ideas please?
Thankyou.
yes those are for the S5

I would contact dellstreakrepairs.UK and ask if they have Streak 7 parts. They repaired my Streak 5 and indicated they were repairing Streak 7's as well. Their website has a wanted post for old and damaged Streak 7's. They may have what your looking for.

Thanks for that.
Out of interest, do you know what the exact part name is called? I see it called a cap/cover, but i can't find the actual correct name/part number?

Is there anyway to distinguish a refurbished tilt? I came across this on Ebay and it got me wondernig... http://cgi.ebay.com/AT-T-Tilt-HTC-8...ryZ64355QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I bought mine off ebay "Brand new in box", but now im wondering if there was ever a way for me to really know. Does the H/W version or anything give it away?
yup, that one is a refurb.....the refurbished tilts come in a plain white box like the one shown in the picture. The new tilts come in more colorful box something like this
Hmm. . . I wouldn't know only buy if it came in a while box.

The Tilt you listed clearly states that the phone is a refurbished item.
"The winning bidder will get a HTC Tilt just as it came straight from AT&T....no add ons....the phone is still locked to AT&T network...This item is a refurbished unit, but you will not be able to tell, I have a refurbished one myself and when you get it, it looks BRAND NEW!!!"

I broke my battery cover when trying to take it off. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement for it? I called Samsung and they do not sell the part individually.

It would be helpful to know which Nexus S you have. There are several model #'s and they are a little different.
Check global parts direct. You have to buy a minimum amount though and I don't think they come with the nfs chip.

I don't whether you are in the UK or not but I just picked up a genuine battery cover (with NFC antenna) from ebay from a trader called dew_trading. £16+p&p.
edit: it was for a I9020 and he's showing as having 5 left.
If you're in the US, make sure to try again and tell them that you want a warranty replacement for a broken back cover-- not that you just want to buy a regular replacement.
I know it sounds stupid, but I got the same line a bunch of times when I called. I had to ask to be transferred to the Warranty department and be sort of insistent that my cover was broken, and I needed it replaced under warranty etc etc. It should only cost you like $16 through that avenue.

Can anyone post the number to call for a warranty replacement?

If they got it from samsung, the 99% chance it is NFC.
Just looking to buy this phone off of eBay, and I found a listing, but the individual mentions that the phone has "a white screen with lines that displays, and nothing else" after powering on.
Any one know if this could be a possible fix, or if it means that I should avoid it and tell the guy he should try getting a replacement phone?
Also, I've already messaged him about if he's attempted rooting it (not sure if that's possible yet) or done any modification to it.
Thanks in advance for any assistance with this!
Had to edit the topic title, I don't think it actually offered any insight as to what's going on previously.
Sounds like some kind of hardware fault and i'd say the guy is only selling it on ebay for parts.

I'd have to mail it to them - and wouldn't it be odd that they're getting a repair request from Canada?
I'm surprised there isn't any mention of the cheezy little afterthought of a sticker they used for the FCC and sn # information.
Was that perhaps because all the units were assembled and ready, just awaiting for some sort of FCC compliance and have the sticker put on last minute?

And on the TF101. Just pull it off and place it somewhere for safe keeping. Google won't give you any **** about it I'm sure, Asus didn't when I get my TF101 in for repair.
Ah ok, it's an Asus thing, good to know. Thanks!
My tf300 had one also it was annoying lol

I don't know if you guys noticed but the S/N is also located on the box. I just stuck it near all the other information.
I'm sure it was just to keep the N7 as clean looking as possible. By making it an easily removable sticker, it keeps it sleek and sexy.
Sorry to bump this, but is it safe to remove sticker, since I have all info in my guarantee document and on the box itself?

Perhaps, but I called Asus to ask about repairs and replacements and in the email they sent me, it said if the serial number cannot be found on the product itself (id est, the sticker removed), the warranty is void. So you could remove it, keep it somewhere safe and if you need to send your tablet in, put it back.
I peeled mine of approximately 2 minutes after un boxing.
Damn, I just throw sticker to the trashcan.
But I don't understand why, I also have serial number at settings of tablet, its there in menu

That was a pretty slick move. I mean, I'm sure most people who'll purchase this device will be motivated to remove the sticker after looking at how it's placed onto the tablet. It's cheaply placed there and it looks like it should be removed. I've contemplated a few times over removing it, but haven't done so from laziness lol. After reading your post, I'm glad I didn't.
I'm just sayin!
The sn is on stickers inside the case
I gotta say that it's really dumb move by Asus, like they're dont want to repair somethnig, and find excuse for it, sticker is useless even if you're RMA'ing something, because SN is also on box, inside of device, and on warranty ticket, its useless to have that sticker, I dont understand why they made this a big deal
Now I dont have chance to get my sticker back, to hell with that
Honestly as I think, if the sticker or tab wasn't meant to be removed, generally it would state "Do Not Remove". I think that customer service rep was wrong.
I'm just sayin!

The sticker looked so cheezy, I assumed that they intended it to be removed. Mine wasn't even on straight.
Hello, recently, my phone fell in the water.
I gave it to an repair shop named "My Mobiles".
The place looked like they "couldn't" scam people.
After two days of "servicing", they showed me the mobile.
They said that sometimes the phone wouldn't on.
The touch screen was working perfectly, someone showed me the working of the mobile, unlocked the lockscreen, scrolled through the different home screens.
They would service for another day, flash, and return it back to me.
The next day, they gave it to me.
They said that the touchscreen wasn't working perfectly in some places.
I wanted to test it, they said that the electricity wasn't there and they couldn't charge right now.
I went home with my mobile.
I charged it for a long time.
Then, when I turned it one, I couldn't access the touchscreen whatsoever.
I'm pretty sure that they replaced the digitizer with an non-working one.
But, I'm not sure how to prove it. So, is there any documentation provided that says that can identify the id of my digitizer?
I live in India, and good people here are a million-to-one.
What can I do?
Thank you.

Hah, yeah.
But how do I confirm about the digitizer?
I have to confirm that I'm right.
So, how do I do that?
Or is it just better to buy a digitizer?
(I sincerely don't see any point arguing with a bunch of dumbasses in a room full of "judges")
How much would the digitizer cost and which trusted place do I get it from?
I would recommend you to take your phone to that shop once more..
They must fix any error they made..
Or it would be better to take your parents along with you..(if you are a kid..)

Yeah, I did think of that, but the previous day, the digitizer was working, atleast accessible.
But, the next day, it didn't even respond.. I don't understand how that could that happen !
They did say that "it's an motherboard problem", but the mobile is working perfectly other than the battery and the touchscreen..
And, has someone used a new digitizer, successfully?
Is there any tutorial to replace the digitizer? I did find this : http://erkinson.altervista.org/en/sony-ericsson-xperia-x8-smontaggio-e-sostituzione-display-touch/
But, it isn't mentioned perfectly how to replace it..

Why not? It shows you what you have to remove(1 and 2) to replace digitizer. Then whatever you remove you place it back, while you are replacing the digitizer.
If you are not familiar with this stuff i advise you to leave it to someone who know how to do it.
