It is hard to explain really, but when I am reading a forum or something with a lot of text in a column and there is white space right next to it. I could see many faint black lines each one corresponding to each line of text next to it on my Nexus One Screen.
Does anyone have this problem is this related at all to the nexus one resolution "cheating"? and the pixel color is not distributed evenly? It is a minor problem, but it got me puzzled.
We've all got it, been discussed a few times.
Oh I just ran accross this,
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6737
so that answer my question I think, if you guys see this, please post it on there as well for google to fix it (probably never, but so they are at the least aware).
Sorry Rusty, didn't see your post before posting.
I know by my join date I look like a newb but i was here long ago when the 3gs pulled me away (i know i know).
I have noticed a drastic increase in stupidity lately in the development forums. A question being asked just two posts after it was answered. Constant "Rom abandoned/Dev gave up" and of late the famous "eta on........./when are you updating" garbage.
It normally doesn't bother me but i just read the CM thread after missing a few days and saw it asked 11 times in 4 pages. Then hopped over to Mod's thread to see it filled with people complaining he hasn't updated the desire port.
Maybe sometime down the line a new rule like "asking for Rom updates is strictly prohibited" or something similar to prevent the waste of what seems like 20% of all froyo threads. Possibly a 24hr naughty corner even.
Is anyone else on the same page here?
Hopefully the moderators get on a real mean streak and start locking all the dumb question threads but I doubt they have the time
Edit: Forgot to say to ignore the people that are the ones asking the dumb questions that will respond to this thread with: "well why did you make a thread about it if you want the forum clean?"
It's only temporary. And honestly, I think it's a good thing that a lot of people are excited about custom roms. Of course it's annoying, but I'd take it over no one caring any day.
I concur, same goes for public posting their questions/concerns in appropriate forums, tired of seeing random questions in dev forum, IMO 24hrs timeout is justified in such cases.
That just really grinds my gears...that is all
I am glad that I am not alone in being frustrated.
The problem i see is this might be considered acceptable behavior going forward.
I know personally seeing the posts kind of pisses me off I can only imagine how the dev's feel when they contribute a lot of time to making Rom's for people (and most don't make a penny doing it) and all they get is complaints that they aren't doing it fast enough.
I see this progressing into "when are you fixing trackball wake, any word on trackball wake then finally Dev's gave up on trackball wake. and this will all happen within one day of CM 6 being released.
people need to be patient, if you want an update so bad then go flash back to stock and update to official froyo
i have all the n1 forums ina separate feed in my google reader on my phone, seeing the same thread posted in each feed in newsrob is stupid
patience
Not all of these fixes are recommended. Please understand that you can damage your N7 even more than what it was before. Read all the way through to make sure you know the problems it can cause because only you are responsible if you break it. I recommend sending it in for a repair. The bottom RMA link is where to start. Keep in mind almost all of these threads end with everyone sending theirs in for repair. Please post any issues and/or fixes you have and I'll update as needed. That way we have a one-stop thread for issues so everyone doesn't have to search.

How To Start The RMA Process For A Repair

Can we make this the official place to post all of the problems? That way we can find new topics without going through 5 different screen fixes?
As a new N7 owner, thank you for this thread! I'm getting it in the mail in a couple days and this basically just provided me with my list of things to check so I can RMA it immediately if it's a dud.
Really useful thread

To new, budding O4X (P880) users. Here is a list of things you should know/do before you click on that new thread button.
1. If you have a question, use the search function and type in keywords that are relevant to your problem. - If your problem is not resolved, post your question IN THE Q&A SECTION, WITH THE TITLE CLEARLY STATING YOUR PROBLEM. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POST MULTIPLE THREADS IN MULTIPLE SECTIONS HOPING THAT IT WILL INCREASE THE POSSIBILITY OF YOUR QUESTION BEING ANSWERED. - If your question is not specific enough, or if your english is bad, there is google translate for a reason.
2. If your phone keeps rebooting and showing the LG logo, YOUR PHONE IS NOT BRICKED. IT IS JUST STUCK IN A BOOTLOOP. IT IS CALLED A BOOTLOOP. A BOOTLOOP. - To solve this problem, we have many professionally crafted guides to help you in your queries.
3. If your phone does not show the LG logo, but your computer recognises something when you plug it in, YOUR PHONE IS ALSO most probably not bricked. There is a way to save it. Just don't panic and spam the forums with "OMG I bricked my phone, I'm such a thug! Thug life ftw! Help me please?"
4. A bricked phone is when it is LITERALLY A BRICK. IF YOUR "BRICKED" PHONE CAUSES A RESPONSE ON YOUR COMPUTER, THEN IT IS NOT A BRICK, BECAUSE IT CONDUCTS ELECTRICITY. If you seriously think your phone is bricked, why don't you take your phone, and a hammer, bust a hole in your wall, and stuff your phone there to put it to better use.
5. If you have "Ideas" for themes and recommendations for apps, do not, I repeat, do not simply post a thread stating your request. One does not simply post a request. You need to research on specifically what you want. For themes, do you want a different battery colour? a different boot screen? And for those of you thinking of posting miracle apps that "tweak" the O4X, "oh it'll make the sound louder. Oh it'll make your screen nicer. OH IT WILL (input swear word here) MAKE PEOPLE THINK THEY BRICKED THEIR PHONE WHEN THEY FAIL TO INSTALL IT BECAUSE IT DOES NOT WORK. Re-think what you are about to do. Always produce, legit screen shots and better, a video tutorial.

What the hell is going on in this forum? I've never seen a forum with so many posts for other devices. If there are any mods out there, would you be so kind to clean this place up a little.
from my Tranquil Rezound
I've been wondering the same thing. I realize XDA is a huge forum, but there are MANY Mods (so it seems). I find it hard to believe that these threads have been out of place for this long. I don't like to sound like I'm being rude, but there are threads that have been here for day after day and there's a list of mods at the top that look over this part of the forum. I know people have lives and all but I'd think that a mod would see things like "Xperia 8" "Zte v970m" and "monetize free desktop applications" and knew that something was wrong. o.o

I'm sure we have been wondering that...
From my Count there are 20 threads that have nothing to do with the one and were posted all for other devices. Thats quite ridiculous. I think its time that I unsubscribe from the Question and troubleshooting forum for the HTC One. Its quite a waste of time. Too many posts for devices and problems I don't really care about.
Instead of instantly saying "wrong forum", you might try asking what steps did they take to get to this post. Just a thought.

I can understand maybe the odd noob getting confused and posting in here related to a "One series" phone....but posting in here for a "sammy" phone? WTF....even a noob couldn't be that dumb....could they?:silly:
Deffo agree that the place could do with a big clean up though.:good:
I am sure there were people who were really confused and made mistake posting other devices' question here.
BUT! This should not happen so frequently like this! People are noob in solving their phone's problem but are not so blind that they can't see the forum title!
So I believe this is organized activity that aims to mess up our htc one q&a section. They actually achieved their goal, see people are not subscribing to this section few posts above.
This is very sad, not trying to point finger to anyone/any company behind this, but if you consider xda forum is so powerful now those company's marketing people could easily use this place to promote their product, or on the other hand, prevent people from accessing valuable information by distracting them, then in the end, make them lose interest or potentially delay their decision of buying the forum related product.
We are all clever enough to figure out, if my theory is true, who is more likely behind this and so afraid of HTC's new flag ship One!
I think what we should do is, keep sticking to this forum, and post more related topics actively to show our support to our beloved device. We need this q&a section and it is down to us in the end to keep it active!
actually, I found it quite amusing, every time I come here, there were new posts asking unrelated questions, and this actually makes me come here more often.
Also, I would like to point out, we should NEVER answer those unrelated question but only point out they are posted at the wrong place, and only the first one or two people doing that will be enough. We want those threads die out quickly not keep remerging at the top!!!
Please help all of us keep this place as it should be! And keep calm and carry on.
Reported all the threads which should not be here to the mods so hopefully they will pop along and do a quick tidy up for us.
How does one become a mod anyways? Because I've never seen any of the mods for these forums, I'd rather see one of us (that is seen on the ONE forums frequently) to become a mod that way at least we have someone who will see all these post about different devices.

They used to take applications, not anymore
We have plenty on mods, they just won't really moderate this forum until the device is released

So where are the mods?
We are here of course. I alone have moved 15 threads today to the right forums, and I must admit that I also haven't seen so many ill-placed posts anywhere yet. Maybe the One-Forum is like a magnet, lol. Or it really is some deliberate action.
Those threads are taken care of if reported or if seen by coincidence. But we don't open every thread in Q&A. And at least the ones I have moved today were not recognizable as misplaced from the thread title. Or would you see from "Never worked" that the poster meant his SGS3?
So I close this now.
It seems there has been some kind of technical issue, which meant threads ended up in this forum, without actually having been posted in this forum.
