Hi to all!
I hope I am in the right forum section!
I have a unlocked T-Mobile MDA Compact V, It runs on WM 6.1. ( which I got recently).
Wanting to play around with screen optimization...(first mistake I suppose... )
I installed the HTC Home Customizer (HTCV10Final.cab) which was no problem, when launching, it requested
to add the HTC home plugin ( I installed HTChome-2.1-hermes-N2a.CAB) , installation went smoothly, it asked to reboot..OK
then .... stuck! .. Must have been the wrong version???
It goes through the sequence... finally on an empty home screen with top and bottom bar but totally unresponsive to touch or stylus.
The on/off top button works as far to swith off or on the screen but cannot switch off the phone, need to pull the battery out.
Any advice on how to proceed from here???
Regards
solved!

Solved by doing a hard reset....DoooooooooooH
Well, now comes the question:
1) what would be the correct version of HTC Home plugin for the MDA Compact V... if any?
2) Any other precautions/suggestion in the future??

I just upgraded to the official wm6.1 rom from ATT. I didnt like the version of htc home that came with it because it wasnt compatable with htc home 1.0.
I installed a cab for htc home onto the storage card. Really stupid move it seems because now the phone just constantly reboots when not plugged into the usb. When it is, the screen boots to a blank screen showing the wallpaper and my 2 soft keys. Nothing can be pressed though. Device center just sticks on connecting. Please help me. I feel so stupid right now.
Have you tried to do a hard rest?
If not give that a try
thanks for the response i read further and i held the camera, power and soft reset buttons then reloaded the rom. I love this forum. sorry for the needless post
Hi all!
This is a brilliant forum, and I am reading it with a lot of plessure
I have a HTC TyTN II, and my touch screen does not work.
This was not a problem until I updated to WM 6.1..
Now I cant use the TyTN because it says "Tap the screen to set up your windows based device"
Is there a workaround for this?? Or do I need to send it in for repair?
Thanks!
Stupid me!!!!
It was due to the stupid screen protector and stupid me!!!!
You're not stupid, fella.
Just "differently clever".
this is what emotions you just went through ................. and now you think you are a Homer Simpson look alike......LOL
Hi folks!
I had the same problem: change my at&t tilt rom/radio/spl to htc.
result: touch screen does not working!
The only way that i found is undo changes:
1º - installing and using: Remote screen Alignment to skip the first screen calibration. Just power on Tilt and wait until activesync are connected, so, run "remote screen alignment" and click skip, if the phone does not restart, do a soft reset.
2º - In the next power on, use activesync to copy JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe to your phone.
3º - use the buttons to navigate and execute JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe on the phone. (to execute JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe file use the ENTER key of the sliding keyboard).
4º- now just replace RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_.exe (OEM ROM i think)/ bootloader spl1.93.0/1.56 (maybe the screen problem occurs due the wrong spl/rom combination or newer spl like 3.28/3.29 ).
After these steps my AT&T Tilt touch screen is back to work!
Now i'm ready to try others roms again !!
PS: Sorry for poor english, if anybody don't understand anything just ask!
Hi everyone,
My HTC Touch Diamond phone appears to be stuck on the TouchFlo screen. I can use the hard-buttons to move around the screen and do the essentials, but I somehow cannot use the touch-screen at all.
Strange thing however is that while I am in certain screens (ie: Call History), whenever I touch the screen, I can see the OK button in the top-right corner show up and go away whenever I remove my finger from the screen.
I've attempted several soft resets and removed the battery for a few minutes, yet still at no avail. Anyone have a clue what could be wrong? I am desperate and don't want to do a hard-reset and lose all my data and settings.
Looking forward to your suggestions!
nobody any ideas?
My personal thought on it is that you probably just need to recalibrate your screen... but I can not figure out a way to get to that option without using the screen. If there was a start button it would be easy, but since we have a sleek phone it doesn't have one.

It may or may not help but a shortcut to align screen is to hold Enter/Action and press Volume Up.
I only know this because my friend is looking for a way to disable this combo for gaming purposes.
The symptoms sounds like you have installed SensorLock.
When i have it activated i can press the hardbuttons and the upper right corner of the screen.
Try flip your phone and see if it unlocks?
All great suggestions guys! Especially the Enter + VolUp was the one I wouldve wanted to try! In the end, I decided to go to HTC Support and they checked the device. Turned out it was a hardware problem: the connector was loose! After pressing a bit around the lower edge of the screen, the connector worked properly again!
Thanks again for the help guys!
Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone could possibly..suggest what my problem could be .. and what replacement part i should get.. ok my tilt's lcd screen is non responsive .. it only responds if i hold down on the left soft key..then im able to use the touchscreen.. so im wondering is it the digitizer that needs replacing ? the lcd screen ? the lcd main flex cable ? or something else ? ...i have touchflo and a custom rom installed..but i dont think its a software issue..because windows align screen..doesnt work..(only if i hold down the left soft key) so im guessing its definately a hardware replacement problem..any help or suggestions would be much appreciated thankss..
Edit:
BTW sorry for double posting.. accidentally hit enter before i was finished....
no 1 ? has any ideas? i replaced the touchscreen..and it still has the same problem...i also did a hard reset..and i cant get past the windows setup screen....
can someone help me ? on what the problem could be ?
Sounds like a connector issue to me - maybe where the flexi connects from the screen, but I'm no expert on that.
As far as bypassing the Windows calibration screen on setup goes, all you need to do is put an empty file on the root of your sd card and call it welcome.not - then when you do a reset it won't go through the calibration. You can always do it manually later (by pressing the centre button in the d-pad and pressing the Internet Explorer button!).

Hi!
It seems like you have a hardware fault (flex) and a software fault (hangs on splash screen) at the same time.Change flex and upgrade with original ROM from bootloader.
