How do I raise the brightness in the YouTube app? Because when I go into landscape mode the brightness is really low and I can't change it. But when it's in portrait mode it stays high. So the question is how do I keep the brightness high in landscape mode? Any tips? Please? Thanks

Your probably covering the sensors on the top of the phone...just take off auto brightness and set it to what you want

Sometimes when my phone has been sitting in my pocket for a while and I take it out and activate the display the screen will sometimes have a blueish tint that will slowly fade away after a few seconds. Does anyone else have this issue or know if this is a precursor to something failing?

I don't think there is an adjustable setting for that.

Oh sorry I believe there is one in holics Rom... Most likely you have a faulty lcd tho

Where in Holics would you find gamma correction?
Me again,
I noticed that my screen usage is at 70% but I have the auto brightness off and it turned down to about a quarter of the bar. Is there a reason for the usage being so high?

I believe interfacing with your phone (touching the screen) counts as screen usage.

did you uncheck automatic brightness and turn it all the way up?
Powersaver on? Makes a huge difference in brightness levels.

Yup yup. Power saver does some work on the brightness levels.

Yes it was unchecked but I guess I'm just used to higher brightness levels like other phones I've had.

Any way to do that? Really bothers me lol

i downloaded this app, its called capacitive buttons, you have to be rooted btw, and it changes the lights intensities three different levels i find that this works well
There are light sensors attached to the buttons. They should light up in the dark

Yeah just got it last night but when playing with it I noticed the lights we not turning on lol, I'm still used to the og evo. But I'll check out that app, thanks

I pulled apart the framework-res.apk and adjusted the buttons to trigger at higher lighting. I also pushed down the overall autobrightness levels, they felt too high to me.

(UPDATE ) the buttons do light up at night, realized it while laying in bed last night lol.

Do you mean it's still bright?
I think it's the nature of X8, I played with my X8 lot times in night and
I down the brightness completely but its still tearing my eyes!
Wear a glass next time!
You can use screen dimmer app or change minimum value in auto brightness settings in screen dim level.
