[Q] Replacement screws for the Ace - Galaxy Ace S5830 Accessories

Okay, I realise this isn't an accessory, but rather a necessity.
Anyone know where/if it's possible to buy replacement screws for the Ace?
Took a ace apart a month or so, intending to fix the nakard digitizer and LCD which have both been bought. but now i cannot remember where i stored the screws and can't put the phone together. Any help would be much appreciated

Nevermind, found them. but if anyone knows. it might be useful to let others know

If you did never did find them, you could buy a broken ace, take that one apart, get the screws, put them in your good ace

Cracked Screen

Hey,
Just looking for some advice where I should go for a cheap solution on how to fix my phone. Basically, everything still works great! Apart from the big crack, the screen doesn't seem to have been damaged (eg. All the pixels look fine, touch still works, only glass/plastic panel is cracked)
I'm actually really impressed by how it took such a hard hit and the device works fine, the screen didn't even smash! Basically it nudged in between my car seat where you close the door, didn't realise it fell out my pocket and closed the door (you could imagine it would be a hard hit) and the phone lives.
If I just needed the glass replaced, can it be done DIY? Or should I not bother and give it to a service centre? I got it from 3 but I know they'll probably overcharge me for something like this..
Any suggestions welcome, thanks!
if the damage is only to the exterior screen then you may want to consider getting this:

be carful! the screen from my firlfreidns diamond is broken too and I had ordered one of those touchscreens... but the screen which comes has no "window" for the frontcamera and after disassembling the phone I saw that it is NOT POSSIBLE to remove the touchscreenglas from the frame.
Replacement LCD & Digitiser
I recently replaced an lcd and digitiser on a HTC Touch Diamond. I bought the complete screen (lcd & digitiser) as one pre-assembled unit from a guy on Ebay (£34.99). Fits straight into the front of the unit frame. I don't think you can remove just the digitiser because it is stuck onto the LCD, and the LCD itself is very fragile. Disassembly is fairly straight forward if you've got the right tools.
Thanks for all your help guys! I've just been bogged down with work so havn't been able to get back here for awhile.
I've taken some time to look into the webiste and others, decided to just order it off ebay in the end anyways. However, taking note from the previous 2 posts, would I be wasting my time ordering just the digitiser itself? I would assume that's what HerrVorragend also meant by "that it is NOT POSSIBLE to remove the touchscreenglas from the frame."
If so, why do they bother selling them online separately? I guess I won't really find an answer, just seems stupid to me. Anyways, guess I'm stuck purchasing both LCD + Digitiser but as a final question, does anyone have any guidelines as how I should replace this myself? I'm very paranoid about this sort of thing because it's only 1 month old, however, I have also replaced an LCD on my old Nokia 6280 before using a step-by-step picture guide online.
Don't think I'd have much luck finding one for this model, hey.. haha.
Once again, thanks!
Double posted, sorry.

If you google for HTC Diamond Service Manual, that will help greatly with assembly and disassembly - there are also a couple of videos on Youtube. From my experience the most tricky part is re-connecting the two flex connectors when you re-install the main board. I use the back of a pair of tweezers to slide underneath the connector carefully. If you are nervous about doing it and happy to cover postage costs, I can replace the LCD for you - PM me for details and I'll see what i can do.

[Q] HELP PLEASE BROKE MY HD2's Screen!!!

hi everyone so i managed to break my hd2s screen yeah i know it sucks.. right now im in the process of changing the digitizer for a new one i bought off of ebay.. i took the phone apart that was pretty simple but while doing so i removed many glue copper like stickers and also adhesive strips specially the one holding the digitizer and the lcd together.. my question is if anybody knows where i can buy the adhesive strips.. and most important the cooper like tape since it was covering the sides and the back part where the battery goes.. has anyone been successful at fixing their broken hd2 and is the copper-like tape important.. or can i just use some regular hot temperature resistant tape? well thanks in advance for the help
I know this doesn't really help you with your situation in any way but. I broke mine as well, and i just decided to let the insurance company handle it. I know it's expensive 130$ compared to the 50$ you could buy a new screen for. But they send you a brand new sealed in box phone, next day air shipping. I've only seen one video on how to replace the glass, and it was for the euro one, and it required, basically, completely disassembling the entire phone.
Sorry for the non-help. Just my .02c
i broke the one on my blackstone bought one off ebay pretty cheap but i couldn't put it together ,i ended up paying $50 get it installed the right way

i broke the battery hinge inside legend!

i have literally looked everywhere for this part. can't seem to locate it in any of the repair parts store. has anyone seen it anywhere?
am i the only one who broke this battery hinge? =(
I broke mine.. I also had a problem with my touchscreen, so in sent it in for repair. Both parts were replaced.
I guess you might find it on ebay too..
I did try eBay with no luck =(

You could try,

Why are back and front cover listed for Legend since its a unibody phone? -htcrepairparts
Hello,
I have the same problem too.
German Ebay helped me: German Ebay -> search for "HTC Legend Cover Gehäuse Rück" (Sorry, I am not allowed to post a link)
You get whoole middle part with hinge, which was broken.
Maybe you can get same part also in other countries or Chine.
I'm going to drag this thread up.
Did anyone go about replacing it? If so did you do it the slow and painful way (Taking the whole phone apart and replacing the whole chassis) or the quick, but risky way (just taking the hinge off the part and installing that to the original chassis, risk of breaking it though :\)
I'd really appreciate if you could let me know

How about buying a cheap legend on ebay

Scratches on the back panel

Ok so I might be selling my galaxy s. Its in very good condition, never dropped and all, but the back has lots of slight scratches. None are deep, so my question is; does anyone know how to remove them?
I have tried brasso, it didn't really seem to help, it might have made matters worse actually. I need some sort of polish I guess, and I wouldn't like to spend much, unless I really have to. Anyone managed to sort this out before?
Thanks.
Rear case is far to thin to mess with . You might be better sourcing a replacement from Ebay .
Alternative would be to buy a case in stick phone in that when selling .

Just don't get too much attached to things. Just use the phone carefully and swap it with a Replacement Backplate when you have too many scratches.
Man how you get scratches in the back? I have mine since september and still no scratches. The only thing you can do now is buy a new back-thing. The back is plastic so polish won't help I think (tried on my last phone and just got more scratches ).

M7's Broke...any Options?

I made the mistake of trying to replace my wifes cracked screen myself. I read all of the reviews and DIY's and knew it would be a beast but didnt anticipate what it actually was. I bought an entire new front housing hoping that would make it easier but it really didnt. I think I broke a couple of ribbons taking it apart because now that I put it back together nothing is working.
What options do I legitimately have or that are worth it. Insurance claim? Try to buy the new ribbons online and replace them to get it working again? I tried selling it as a brick on ebay but that didnt work. Or I just leave it in a drawer and use one of my upgrades on the account and consider it a lesson learned.
Any help/direction would be great guys...thanks!
i would say to buy new ribbons then try with them, if you think you broke or damaged the ones you have now.
but before , pay attention on those 90 degree clips... i think when you put the ribbons in the clips, you must push them just a bit inside, then close the clips. be carefull, don't tighten the screws hard, it might damage the screen.
