Hello everybody.
My phone's display is bricked. In the meantime already bought a Samsung Galaxy Nexus but nevertheless I would like to save all the data from my internal SGS+ storage. The difficulties I have are:
1. no chance to unlock the phone after boot, cause I don't know where to push the buttons
2. no chance to get into recovery
3. no idea, if it is possible and how i could maybe save the data via download mode?!
So, does anybody of you know a possible way to get the data from my internal sd on my computer? besides i would like to reset the phone afterwards to prepare it for sale. any ideas for that?!
Thank you all for help!

is your phone rooted and can you use adb shell?
then you can dump the partitions
edit: if you have succesfully all data restored, flash a stock rom with odin, before you will give the device away (all your personal data will gone)

if you had the usb debugging active then it`s easy, just start it, download from web QtADB or Android Commander (google them), connect phone to PC and if it`s recognized then all you have to do is to copy from it all you want/need
if you don`t have usb debugging then you have to find a way to mount internal storage in recovery doing it blind isn`t hard, you just need 2 screenshots from exactly the same recovery you had installed on your SGS+ then use one of those programs above to copy from your phone. (I think recovery can be accesed w.o. usb debugging enabled by default)

yeah, my phone's rooted and i've already flashed different ROMs with ODIN - thanks so far.
but I've never used the Android SDK and adb shell before, so I have no idea how to connect the phone (via usb mount in recovery? via download mode? boot normally without unlocking it?) and how to use the adb with which commands!?

Thanks for the tools, look helpful and as I remember, USB debugging was activated. But should this even work, if my phone is still locked (with this Android-security pattern and SIM-lock as no PIN can be entered)?
Finally thanks for your quick feedbacks!

ofc it will work as long your phone is rooted (for the system access) and usb debugging on. The pin doesn`t lock you phone entirely, just the SIM
I tried QtADB and it's great! Exactly what I've been looking for, thanks! The better alternative for people who are not used to the adb shell and easy to use for some basic tasks.
edit: faced some problems while copying data with QtADB, therefore tried Android Commander and could copy all files properly
So, I recently used an app (app2sd or link2sd or one of those kinds of apps) that swapped my internal memory with my external memory. It requested me to do a reboot, so I did. After the reboot, the phone just keeps looping through the cyanogenmod boot animation. What I think is that since my SD card doesn't have the booting files that my internal storage has, it doesn't boot (correct me if I'm wrong), since its reading the sd card as if its the internal storage and vice versa for the internal memory. Any way I could fix this? So far all I can really do on my phone is boot into recovery mode and Odin mode. I also tried to flash my SD card with Cyanogenmod, but turns out I don't have the zip for it on my internal memory (now external), and I can't access the internal memory on my computer, only the SD card (internal). Also, I've tried using adb shell, but whenever I try it always comes up with "Error: device not found" so that wont work for me. Kinda assuming I'm outa luck D:
I'm a little confused here if I got this right you used an app to SD app now your external SD is reading as your internal ? What recovery you using cwm?

Nope it soft bricked not to worry though. Your going to need an usb jig there like 5 dollars at usbjig.com once you get that reformat your sd card make sure you have usb driver and boot image and nessary files to flash to stock via odin at that point google and youtube is your best friend because i have no experince dealing with odin. The USB jig is going to force you phone into odin so you can load the nessary files to flash back to factory if done properly.
Which version of CWM are you using? If you are on 6x you can go to mounts and storage and then mount USB to copy a ROM to your phone. If you are on 5x you will have to update to 6x with Odin.
Edit: If you can't mount storage but you can get into download mode, you should follow the directions to flash to stock from here:

Ok well I'll look into this. Thanks for the info!
Download mode=Odin mode.
If you can already get into Odin by holding volume down and power then you don't need a jig.

They restore your phone with the ORIGINAL STOCK ROM and everything that your phone has installed (Including Recovery) is lost. You don't have any recovery installed. You have to re-install it again.
Hit thanks if I helped.
After a visit at the mobile center the entire device will be resetted. Meaning official software and no recovery (Sony has no recovery build in so it seems). So yeah, you need to root it again and instal a recovery.

Have you enabled USB Debugging option from Developers Option..?
If no then do it. If you cannot see developer options then go to settings -- about phone -- tap o build number 7 times and you'll unlock developer tools option.
Then enable it and then connect your phone to compter via USB and do the necessary steps to flash CWM.
Also you on locked bootloader or unlocked bootloader.?

1. Check USB debugging is connected and your PC has properly installed the drivers for your phone. Also make sure your phone has prompted you to authorise the computer you're connected to.
2. Check no ADB is running in task manager before you try this, check flashtool isnt running or anything else that may use ADB (PC companion etc)
3. Try a different recovery
Oh and stupid question but you have re-rooted your phone first right and SuperSU is confirmed working updated and allowing rooted programs to work?

Hi guys,
So I'll tell you the whole story here. I was on Lollipop, fully rooted with working XZDR recovery but phone seemed laggy so I decided to give it a full format with the newer firmware. So I backed up everything. Booted into recovery. Formatted the whole phone, then took out the SD card to load on the zip file from the PC. On inserting it, it wouldn't be detected so I tried to reboot into recovery using the inbuilt option but forgot that recovery too would have been deleted. Since then its just stuck on the Sony logo. It reboots by keeping the Power button and Volume Up pressed, but to no avail. I tried to flash the image using Flashtool but it doesn't recognize the phone when I try to connect it in Fastboot using the Volume Down during Reboot method. Nor do I get a blue LED on the phone. I guess it isn't entering Fast boot.
Please help out since its my daily driver. Help appreciated. Thanks
Oh hey guys managed to restore using Flashtool. Tried booting phone into Flash Mode again and idk how it worked this time. Breathing a sigh of relief.
Could you please explain in detail how did you managed to get out of bootllop....it seems i sucked exactly like you & now clueless....
First of all, try repair it with Pc Companion. If that doesn't work, try with flashtool.
Keep in mind, to enter flash mode, press volume down button and insert usb cable.
tried PC companion & got error 2003 (Unlocked Bootloader & rooted wont work it seems)
Flashtool, will give a try again....
As of now, i am able to go to the fastboot & can open files on my PC when connect phone via USB cable....
Phone not booting up normal/recovery mode....It just stucked with boot loops
Tried flashtool---Ended up with errors as attached pic
As i cant bootup my phone...USB Debugging option cant be ticked
I was running SlimLP (unofficial) while bricked my phone....
Anything on that please....

Try installing Flashtool ver 0.9.10.2beta4 - you can see in this tutorial section #5: Device connected with USB Debugging off, ergo you dont have to have USB Debugging on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-stock-roms-t2240614

Not sure what you mean....... all I can say is, Flashtool 0.9.10.2beta4 does not require USB Debugging to be turned on to work and I definitely didnt turn USB Debugging on before starting the root process. Later yes but not before.
Try it or not, thats up to you.....
My problem is MTP won't stay, everytime I plug the device into my computer it's in charging mode an I'm unable to see folders in my internal storage. I have to go into developer setting an hit MTP mode even know it says it's already in it. Then I get folders to show but once I unplug the device an plug it back in it's back to the same charging only. This is causing issues with me being able to flash SU after I flash twrp. In twrp when I open sdcard it shows nothing ,which I believe it stems from the device not staying in MTP mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Issue has been fixed, seems like the latest global stable an latest twrp caused the issue , use same twrp but flash global stable developer rom. Everything works perfectly
