PLEASE HELP ....!
i just bought dell streak 7 and after i downloaded the honycomp and press to update . it asked me that it might require to restart and take like 10 min..
but after restartin its frozen on dell logo .. i have searched alot and did pressed the button beside the sd card and did the V+ with power and nuthing happens so please help >>> if it require to be fully charge to restore in recovery mood and please note its still the defult dell logo not with rainbow or anything as i did read in many fourms .. Please help i bought it for my dad's birthday and aint know what to do ... Please ASAP .. thanks

First, open the side port, and use a paper clip and punch that little hole, it will do a hard reset.
You need at least a 60% charge for recovery mode, and always do updates while connected to the external power cable.
Do a reflash of the upgrade, and do a factory reset and let us know how it went.

Watch giveen's videos here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydM7qkoCs00&list=PLB99FAE280F618B12&index=1&feature=plpp_video to learn how to NVflash, download this file http://d-h.st/iXc, unrar and run the restore.bat file.

The link you provided to the "restore to 2.2.rar"....are these files for the WiFi US model or the T-Mob version ?

As far as I know, it's the only restore file around. Can't comment if/what you'll lose.

Pretty sure this is US wifi only and it wipes everything.

well i have tried Nv Flashing it with this restore to 2.2 file, also added a 22.img to it n flash it n few subtractions of .img files too, wot ever i could find here on xda so far but my Dell streak7 4G Tmobile USA Locked version on froyo 2.2 is stuck on tmobile boot loop & i also tried flashing via SD card by update.pkg files frm XDA & this file it loads 90% & give a Modem Error.. check image below..
i need ur help... dnt know wot to do next.. plz guide me wot to do next to bring it back to life thanks in advance

If the 2.2 file don't work, nothing will! You might be stuck in the "read only" mode. Some have returned their S7 to Dell for repair but at least one person has gotten out of that mode. Not sure if there is a thread on that subject or one got OT. Do a search on "read only".

I've been doing some research into the read only mode. Want try something but need one that is having the problem

I Bricked my Dell Streak 7, Please Help

Streak 7 Stuck at Dell Logo
Formatted the System and Data and reflashed the system and boot.img files but now stuck at dell logo.
No power on key combination produces any other result.
Only have two options that I can think of.
1) Somehow boot from sd card
2) Get the nvida/tegra chipset sdk which I can't find a download for anywhere
Any other suggestions?

Thanks, installing now. I called Dell and they are sending me a new one, but I would still like to resolve this so others don't have to do this.
Any tips on how to use this?
I am going to try the QDL tool that can be downloaded here: http://www.streakdroid.com/repairtool.zip
This may get me back up and running, we'll see. If so, I will post the procedure.
QDL is supposed to be a rom recovery utility that can communicate with the device in almost any scenario. Since ADB can see the device, I might have some luck.
Good luck

instead of going through all that just call dell.. play dumb and just say after the update you got stuck at the dell screen.. they will try to get it to boot in recovery but that wont work.. so then they will issue a warranty exchange.. and it's not a refirb they are sending.. it's the full retail package again I'm going to "forget" to send back the charger and have two.. I never send back the chargers to dell when I do a replacement.. so if they dont ***** about a $100 charger missing they wont ***** about a streak charger missing.. as a matter of fact with my old laptop I forgot to send the charger back and called them, they said "na, it's a minor part. Onky send it back if we contact you abaout it" They never did
But all this time you're doing all this.. you could have a new one on it's way to you with pretty much no questions asked.. just say you got the update.. it said it would reboot.. it rebooted and now youre stuck at the dell screen..

but it is worth it we might find better ways of not bricking or having this happen to others
So no luck with QDL tool yet, but I did read about other devices using the method 'Volume Up + Down + plug in USB'
When I tried this my computer recognized an APX device. Will see where this gets me if I can install the propper drivers.

i found them but have to find where i stored them or what os i downloaded them in but once you do you can setup the in flash but i am going to tell you know i did it all and the issue i came up wit that made me give up was the bootloader.bin which you will have a hard time finding not unless one of the more talented people here can extract it for you the nvflash wont work properly it uses the the boatloader.bin to reflash the streak but i couldnt find it but i ended up getting my new one from dell after 3 or 4 days
Ok, will wait on your search...
Found a driver that would install as NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver. Does that sound right?
I'm also in a bit over my head. From what I understand, I need to restore the boot image on the device. The NVFlash is for flashing the hardware ROM. In what way does/will that help me? Is the hardware ROM part of the boot and system images? Or is it seperate.
Thinking in PC terms, the rom would be the motherboard drivers/software and the System and Boot files would be like installing windows... Does this make sense?
Also, what is the ROM version on the Streak 7?
QDL tool is giving me this error:
ERROR[D10]: no com port found, not in dload mode.
Another question; are the boot, & system files considered "rom's" to NVFlash? Is it a matter of changing the extension to .rom?
OR, like I was assuming earlier, is the rom a totally different file?
Anybody there? I need to understand how this stuff relates to know what to troubleshoot for?

Guess I'll just keep talking to myself Anyway, if anyone has some suggestions, feel free to jump in.
So I have to use nvflash in DOS mode, no problem. BUT, (how) can I install the nvidia boot-recovery drivers in DOS mode? Starting to wish I had a linux box.
I managed to answer my earlier question about the ROM and correct me if I am wrong, but the rom is several files packed together INCLUDING the system, boot, etc.
Now is this just a standard zip file? I have my CWM backup, can I zip that and give it a .rom extension?
Hey guys, I realize my situation is bad and that I am a newb, but I did want to thank you all for your help. Without these forums we would all be lost.

Warning 10.1" CWM incompatibility - BRICKED!

Tried to install CWM from market as Galaxy Tab 10.1. The tab is bricked, if you choose to boot into recovery you will get sutck in an endless loop of reboots. With a little effort and connecting the tab to a PC you can get back to the choice menu and enter download mode.

This is the netload folder for the wi-fi version: http://netfolder.in/folder.php?folder_id=VgnYQ90 and the password: samsung-stuff.de
Samfirmware uses awful slow hosts lately.
Just got it today and I really got scared as the boot menu didn't show up anymore (the sammy logo did appear but it was followed by immediate shutdown) I was starting to think I got myself a hard brick
Got it from Amazon.fr, sorry I won't be able to share my firmware anymore...

Be careful. Sometimes it clears your SD card as well (depending on what exactly you're doing).
To be safe, make a backup of you SD card on your computer.
Only flashed the bootloader from that pack, seems to work!
... more or less. Trying to boot into recovery will restart the tabled, trying to do so from the CWM app will bring you back to the reboot loop...

A hard brick is when nothing shows up no matter what. Screen stays black no matter what you do, power button doesnt work, you cant get into any recovery or bootloader or anything..
I was a little iffy to install it...so glad I didn't. Had some issues with it on my GS2..pfft
i think i have bricked mine new P 7500
but there is nothing wrong i did with this device
tab is now in only conecting in APX
NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for Mobile devices
no sign of charging and no light on display
is there any way to recover it back??????????
this is semi or hard bricked?????
How? this thread is meant for the 8.9 tabs...
This topic should be a sticky!
Anyway too late for me, just trying to work out what brick I have. Basically I done the above too but I'm trying to work out what type of brick I've got. I cannot see a charge light when put on charge. I can get to an option for recovery or download but can't get to recovery. I just get a bootloop of powering on as far as the samsung logo before shutting down, or at least the screen going black. I've never connected to computer yet but I think I've found the files I need should it be a soft brick. Any help in getting me through this would be appreciated.

Trapped myself in this lobster pot too. Probably hold the record for purchase to soft brick in 10 hrs!
there is a link in second post from op which has the roms and the flashing software (Odin)eunfortunately they only had a 7310 rom when I looked. You need a 7300 rom for your phone to work. Please read as many forums as you can on this first. I ended up flashing an Asian image just to get back on my feet, then ended up flashing overcome and over clocking which works very well. Wish you luck!
same
same thing happened to me .I should of looked here before trying a backup. Used Odin to install this and its all good, and 3.2. megaupload.com/?d=0KYNVV4Z
FYI, I was stupid yesterday and allowed ROM manager to update my recovery partition (it told me there was an update available). Of course the update was for a Tab 10.1 and soft bricked my tab (it went into a boot loop). I recovered by going into download mode and using odin to flash only Tab 8.9 clockwork recovery image.
So, if anyone else bricks their tab by using an incompatible recovery, you should be able to recover back to where you were by just flashing a compatible recovery instead of using a full odin ROM.

But you can use it only if you are handyman.

2-wait 3~4 minutes
3-put your charger on galaxy (i lost my charger, used the usb cable and worked)
4-Hold power, and at the same time (dont release power), put battery, press vol.down and home button (in this order)
5-keep holding the buttons for 5~10 seconds

It's easy you just have to make a bridge between two connectors (OMX5 and OMX0) and after you flash a software. If this manipulation can make my phone like a survivor i can do it ^^

Don't worry about that the GS2 has a counter who is incremented when u flash a non official software it's a trick that the constructor used to help the Samsung's technicians to know if you can use the guarantee or not but the GS1 isn't equipped of this system, then it doesn't matter.
so @drakester20 are u saying that i can give it samsung and they wont know and charge mer nothing?

Should i say i used samsung kies to update then a failure message came on my screen ?
What should i say as I am running out of time and my warranty is nearly about to go?

3-put your charger on galaxy (i lost my charger, used the usb cable and worked)
4-Hold power, and at the same time (dont release power), put battery, press vol.down and home button (in this order)

Hard bricked

So i've had a CM9 Beta 1 build on my phone, it was running like a charm past week, so while surfing around internet i've found a flashable zip that makes your status bar look like Jellybean (Specified it works with CM9 Beta 1!) and i've got stuck in recovery bootloop like the last time.
I've tried various way's, one of those was to reflash the ROM or flash a stock ROM from Odin, and it keeped getting stuck on stage VerifyPlatform...
So i've found a thread that fixes all of this mess with a .bat file for computer, and after using it my phone actually died.
I can't turn it on, it's all black..
I think i'm seriously lost...
I'm hoping for exact help that could fix it, not an maybe, i seriously need help! ;(

U don't even get that phone to pc disrupted like connection picture when u try to boot?

i9000 use hummingbird chip .. can use usb jig or if detect as sp5c110, can use unbrickable mod software to revive it (if not detect then have to do hw mod)
i9001 use different chip ie msm8255t .. try the button combination or usb jig to get into download mode. If it detect as qusb_load something then there might still have chance. If still nothing I'm afraid only jtag/riffbox can help.
I once bricked a Galaxy W i8150 (msm8255t) because of wrong bootloader flashed. Usb jig don't work. Had to use riffbox to revive it.
Yeah if jig doesn't work then u gotta replace the jtag

Hello, it's been a while. Thanks for all the feedback people.
I'm not trying to bump or anything, just saying that i've brought the phone to my carrier and played a little dumb game, lied and got it to be fixed. I hope to get good news soon.
