Hello,
my phone reboots after downloading/installing an app or apk.
After rebooting the downloaded app is nowhere and even downloading it again does not help.
Also apps on the sd card won't install anymore.
Who knows a solution ?
Update ur rom/firmware & see the difference...

Hi,
I am trying to update my Samsung Galaxy S to Android 2.3 through Kies... Everything goes on smoothly but when the phone enters the download mode (Download Mode, Do not turn off the target), it hangs over there. And moreover, Kies shows that Phone is not responding try rebooting.
once i remove the battery and restart the phone, it works normally.
Any ideas on how should i proceed? The phone is not rooted and its OTA update.
Also, would like to mention that Kies is not able to take the backup of contacts. It says exception occurred and continues with download of the firmware.
Please help... Thanks
Guru
Just forget Kies.
Kill all Kies-tasks and use Odin for flashing. But don't forget to backup your data first!

As Lunchbox115 said, update your OS through Odin or Heimdall and just backup your contacts with export option (it creates .vcf file on your sd card).
You can also sync your contacts worh Google.

Hello !
I have a big problem. I tried installing clockworkmod recovery. I'm standing at Rom manager. I dont know what I clickking. One time 1 click to reboot to recovery and I have a black screen.
I'm rooted a phone, and i downloaded rom manager from filecrop, i think non-trusted.
You shouldn't use ROM manager. If you can get into the downloading mod, flash through Odin. If not, you may have to go get your phone repaired.

Riff j-tag or omnia repair tool will help you (((

You should have read previous posts here before you even tried to use rom manager. A lot of cases already where rom manager bricked their phone. If you can still boot it in download mode, better flash a stock rom thru odin and cwm thru odin as well.. then you can install custom roms..

It's my friend's phone. I tried to use CTBeastDroid?'s guide. I copied a file from Dreaming-rc29 and I tried a Power + Home combo it didn't work. Can I do ? Please tell me step by step. I never use SGM. I'm formatted external sdcard by my Captivate(phone, it use for sdcard reader). I had a black screen. And my friend's phone didn't do nothing.

I have a stock Android 2.3.6 galacy exhibit 4g and when I boot up into recovery, an update is automatically found, installed and then reboots the phone doing the same thing every time recovery is booted into. My problem is, I cannot find this update package in my internal sd storage to save my life nor do I even know what the update package would be called. Can anyone please help?

I'm not certain but it might be called update.zip, because if I remember that's the only name that will flash in the stock recovery. As for finding it, just try searching for update.zip. it should be on the root of the sdcard(no folder) because that's the only way I thought it could install. Any ways I'm probably wrong but at least you can try.

I'm not sure really what CSC code is but I think your talking about stock Odin flash able package. That should get you back to stock and flash the stock recovery and wipe everything. However i think it will bootloop after it flashes so you will have to boot into recovery and wipe data. If so check out the wiki. There is all the info you need. I have another idea though. I haven't done this myself but you should be able to push a clockworkmod recovery.img to the phone from a terminal if you have adb also in the wiki. I can't view your pic because I don't have a Facebook but maybe someone else can. Good luck

That is the stock update pushed by Samsung from what it sounds like. Also sounds like a data packet might have dropped during the downloading of it causing a bad install. For simplicity get cwm Installed and boot thru that and flash from cwm. Wiki has all the info needs.
Wiki please read completely on rooting and install of cwm. Suggest 6.0.1.2 version. Personal preferences on that.

Problem solved. I just randimly pushed the 3 buttons on the phone before the rebooting part came up in the script and finally got the menu, took may tries to get to that point but as soon as I got to that point, I was quick to install clockworkmod successfully. Now problem is gone. Hope this thread maybe helps someone else

I have a similar problem. Which 3 buttons are we talking about? Power+Home+VolUp?
Easiest way, take out battery, push volume up and power, insert battery while holding, when Samsung appears release only power, when the android guy with package appears press menu

Make sure you push the "Menu" capacitive button (left in the row of four buttons below the screen) when you see the green Android guy and the box. That will get you into the stock recovery menu.
I had to reboot into recovery a couple of times because I missed that part. What a pain!

I installed the same rom to a friend on his i9001 and I have the exact same problem. Even tried to send the play store from my phone to his like I did with a game and still nothing. It only opens for a second and shuts down right away.
Sorry for not having an answer, I'm keeping track on your topic. If you will get an answer ill be very happy to hear it!

It only opens for a second and shuts down right away yes and file manager is able to show most of the files in SD card.
boot into recovery mode then select "fix permissions" reboot, see if that fixes it
Wiping cache and data only for the google play store app...doesn`t help?
And when you are flashing the gapps a second time?
non of the above worked
none of the above helped.
Same here, nothing of the above fixed the problem..

Guys, I assume you just have a corrupted download file. Anyway, you don't need the gapps to install the Play Store, you can also download here only that application and install it via ADB or paste into the internal memory of your phone and install from there (by normally running Android system, not in recovery mode)
Any news about it, does it work now??? Was it a corrupted download-file??
