Totally newbie - Huawei Ideos X6

Hi, just found at my wife's huawei u9000 restarting sometimes.
Want to flash with newest stable rom, maybe after when i understand better this proces something modified/custom
Model: HUAWEI-U9000
Android 2.2.2
Radio PR232
Kernel: Apps_2.6.32.9-perf
When i try this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1274063 it gives me wrong PID ???!!!
My last flashing was with HTC diamond, and it wasn't so complicated like android. So just need help.
SUT is software updating tool that i found, can't just put nb0 file on sd card?
What is CWM ? Need root ? (what does it mean)
I know is different .32 and .35
Best if i get stable android 4.04 .35 Just give me ritght directions to doing it guys

CWM is an recovery used to install an custom rom
you want to get an custom rom right?
and also the .nbo file should be on the root of sd and installed from bootloader
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app

So i should find CWM for my rom ?
Kernel: Apps_2.6.32.9-perf
Android 2.2.2
Best if i cen get 4.0.4 with all working inside

find CM9 for your device and install via CWM for your phone
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app

Just installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278027
and starting with CM9 RC2...
Stop, but i think i should go from .32 to .35 first, so how can i make this now.
1. I have installed CWM recovery v5.0.2.7 for .32

For changing base kernel.. you need to flash andro-id rc3 via windows sultr file extention is .nb0.. and you also got CWM .35 base automaticaly included..
And than you can flash the other custom rom for .35 base kernel..

Enable HDMI port
Hi guys,
How to enable the HDMI port in our device especially for our custom ICS ROM?...Is there any tools or step that we need to do so that we can use our phone's HDMI?

After flashing to CM9 RC2 everything looks and works awesome, but softkeys are changed/randomized. How can fix this?

Stock ROM with mOCkv1.6.12 kernel

Has anyone tried any stock GB ROM with mOCkv1.6.12 kernel?
I've tried today wellcomm A99 Stock ROM with mOCkv kernel and I can confirm that OverClocking, UnderClocking and Call Recording works well without any problems
Link for the kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1511521
was fedup with all the ROMS having InCallVolume bug.
The touch in ICS is not so smooth and also has ICV bug so went back today on WellCoMM Stock ROM which I was using before coming on Custom ROMs
Wow that's a good idea.. I thought that kernel was just for miui roms... Could you please send me the link for this... And can I use it with maclite ROM? What would be the process for installing this kernel. Also suggest the call recording app that can be used with this.
Sent from my FIH-FB0 using XDA
Didn't try with maclite and the process is that
1) Flash the stock rom through SUT
2) Change the recovery to CWM and flash superuser files
3) Reboot and do all the basic things, means let the phone run and boot up once fully
4) Go again to recovery and flash mOCkv kernel
I've seen that if you flash the kernel without the phone booting up atleast once then it doesn't boot
For call recording generally this is software http://goo.gl/BWWOH
Link added in the first post for the Kernel
Try and post the results here
Good find m8

Getting back to 2.3 from ICS

Hey, I wanna to get back to 2.3 from MiniCM9 (nAa) and I don't know If I should first change kernel to standard, or first ROM to 2.3. Can somebody tell me?

First change rom to 2.3 then flash the appropriate kernel.
I don't think it really makes a difference, just that one is slightly less risky than the other.

Kernel then rom, if it's rom 1st then you MIGHT have to reflash the rom anyway

No need for reflash of rom in any circumstances... point is entering flash mode to flash correct kernel is much more doable and likelier to succeed than entering a kernel embedded recovery to flash a rom.
Hence rom first, then kernel.

Hmm... Who to trust?
I'm curently on nAa ICS kernel and his MiniCM9, and want to get back to Achotjan Semc Debrand Engine 2.3 with nAa 11 kernel
From my experience there is no difference at all because the kernel you wanna flash has a recovery and gives you the option to flash your rom. For example when I wanted to revert back to stock without using seus I flashed the rom first and then the kernel because if I did otherwise my device would be softbricked. I hope I made my self clear. The choice is up to you. But I like flashing the kernel first;-)

Ok, so I tried now with kernel first -> that doesn't work, now I'm going to check with rom first
you cant build a house without foundation! flashing the kernel first is only proper way to do this!
1.put 2.3 Rom in SD
2.flash a kernel
3.on 1st boot(at kernel logo)push back button rapidly to enter cwm
4.make a full wipe and install 2.3 rom
5.done

Custom roms

Hi guys,
Well I'm a android user and I have a SE Arc S and I know quite a few things about flashing new roms, kernels, etc...
My girlfriend has a galaxy mini and she's complaning about the phone's performance. So I want to install a custom rom with a better performance but I know little about the "how to" in Samsung.
I've searched but I couldn't find any tutorial. Can someone post a link please?
Thanks
EDIT: Found the tutorials but in SE phone we have to unlock the bootloader, is it necessary on the Galaxy minis? Or is it just flashing through CWM recovery?!
Try here www.yagyagaire.blogspot.com I'm sure you'll find some info
If you have understood methods then Try flashing CM7 (or ROMs based on cm7) for best customizations or try Emanon v6 for touchwiz look and better stability....

Hit thnx it will take your 1KB only..
dont have to unlock bootloader in samsung...just install CWM recovery, and you good to go..

For Daily uses, u can try CM7 with the stable one.
http://get.cm/?device=tass&type=stable
How to install custom rom:
1st: the device must have OS Gingerbread 2.3.x
2nd: install CWM via Odin
3rd: install custom rom ( .zip file ) from CWM (recovery mode)
it's running 4.0.4

[ROM][Stock GB 2.3.7]Stock Apanda rom

Here's the stock Apanda rom Android GB 2.3.7. I couldn't know anything about this rom as it won't let me pass the lockscreen. Lockscreen was similar to the spice stock rom. Don't know if it is any different.
Mod : edit removed this link
I flashed it but seems like the touch screen is not compatible with Spice mi 410.
[Edit] Flash 0.35 kernel(sharp/tj) to make touchscreen work -> Thanks to Abenagiel.
This didn't seem to be any better than sharp rom.
Before flashing this rom be sure to backup your imei. Me and Demonskill had problems of unknown imei number when we flashed the rom and tried to revert back using cwm restore. My personal suggestion, before you do cwm restore make sure to flash tj's rc3. Find more info about imei backup using 5iromtoolbox take a look at post by http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28096182&postcount=3. Thanks to LibertyMonger
Steps to flash this rom:
(1) Go to download mode and Flash this rom via SUT.
(2) Go to download mode and place the recovery.img from tj_style for the new kernel 0.35
(3) Place this 0.35 sharp kernel on sd card https://www.dropbox.com/s/c2myh6s2kgb9wi6/sharp_Kernel.zip
(4) Flash the zip via recovery.
Mirrors for the rom, recovery and 0.35 kernel can be found in the post. Thanks to aloklike- MOD edit: removed link
MOD EDIT : ok guys and the OP
i see a lot of problems i think for the safety of all i am closing this thread and removing the links. if everything is ok PM me and ill open this thread

very stable no fc no bugs for me with the kernel im using, camera & camcorder still zooms.. just use another launcher and get rid of all the bloatware/5keyboards
Guess I will have to try this, hope it is more stable than Sharp ROM. Sharp ROM has been rebooting and just had an awful freezeup while playing a basic game. Lost sensor functionality and had to pull battery. I have no luck with any ROM really wish we had one "go-to ROM" that is fully stable.
Actually this ROM is for K41 devices, not for FB0/1/3 devices. But since K41 devices is using similiar hardware with FB0, so this ROM is still compatible with our devices

Those who are using this please backup your imei first using 5iromtoolbox app available on xda also on ideos x5 forum.

[Q] Quick question will +REP

Basically I want to get smooth flash player working on my P990 and by looking at this old thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1498458
Some guy says that he gets 720p smoothly over Flash Player with temasek's KANG ROM so the question is this:
I currently have a offical v20q rooted and installed CWM recovery, I downloaded the zip temasek's KANG ROM, so what now? Go to recovery and just flash? Or do I need to wipe format system or what?
Just tell me the few steps I'm missing do I need to do something in recovery before going to "install zip from SD card"?
PS: If somehow I don't like the temasek's KANG ROM, how do I revert back? Just make a backup of the current v20q and reflash the backup right?
I don't understand why you want to go CM7. It's old now. I personally never got smooth 720p on Temasek CM7. I recommend you to install stock based ICS ROM if you want to stay near stock or CM10 based ROM if you want AOSP feel. These ROMs should have even smoother Flash Player.

I would also recommend an oval stock rom. Like django manuchete or optithrust. They are fast stable and battery friendly.

I'm sorry for bothering you guys but I dont wanna fail WILL +REP
I decided to try out the "DjangoManouche" ROM, because it's stock based as you say.
These are the steps:
1 - Go to this Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2020737
2 - Download the amazing AIO tool by Spyrosk and follow his guide to change partition layout from old to new (if you come from GB roms) and unlock bootloader
3 - Install 30 based CWM 5 or 6 (see OP)
4 - Install DjangoManouche
5 - Reboot After Install
6 - Enjoy
So if I got this right, I should go in the AIO tool and do option 4 first which is: " Change Partitions from OLD to NEW layout and vice versa",
then I should Install "30 based CWM 5 or 6", what a hell is that? I already have stock GB v20q rooted with CWM installed, what is a "30 based CWM 5 or 6 and where do I get it?
Thanks alot for your time, will +REP!

First, put the rom on external sd. Then, use option 4, you can automatically choose a CWM recovery which will be installed.
