Will xperia T work with us tmo hspa? - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

I'm interested in getting the xperia T but leaning more towards V. Does anyone know if either phone will work with us tmobile hspa+ network?

i got tx and i get download speeds up to 9500kb/s, 3000,mb/s for upload.

Hmm and TL/V/htc One s have the same frequency as well so does that mean on tmo TL/V will work on the hspa+?

TL don't have 3G 1700mhz, V don't have any 1700mhz frequency that are needed for t-mobile 3g/4g network
htc one S is 3G/4G ready

I use my TX on WIND Mobile here in Canada and it works very well so far.

Strangely, my China TX with HK .197 seem can't get the hspa right with Rogers.
It only shows 3G icon, never H ( which my xperia S did) .
By checking the network status, it jumps between ustm:3 and hspap:15. My max download is just around 4mbps...

same here, 3g no h, rogers and tx

Definitely get the T if you are gonna use it on tmo us, it's a pentaband phone and I get about 17mbps down.

Not So Fast -- 1700MHz is not required in all locations for T-Mobile HSPA+
T-Mobile has launched HSPA+ service on its 1900 MHz PCS spectrum in several US cities and the company has promised it will
have a "material" footprint of refarmed 1900 MHz spectrum by year-end (2012). This project should be completed sometime in 2013.
Depending on where you live in the US the LT30at will support HSPA+ on T-Mobile on its 1900 MHz PCS spectrum now if it can be unlocked
and most certainly will sometime in the future.
Does anyone know for sure if the LT30at can be unlocked at this time?
Also, I have seen several posts with regards to the LT30at specifications -- some include the 1700MHz band and some do not --
Can anyone confirm for sure if the 1700 MHz band is included on this phone?

therefore, TX will benefit its new 4G and even 3G service?

I asked the guys at the Sony Store if they sold it unlocked, and they told me yes.

Just got my Xperia TX and it works fine on T-mobile. I get H for HSDPA aka T-mobile's 4G.

Hmm this is getting me more and more interested in Xperia now.. would go for V (screens over 4' just get too big) but if only there was a way to confirm hspa or future tmo lte would work on the V.
Most of these store reps don't really know a lot, I worked as a tmo associate for a brief time its not like we got any special info.

I see TX has the 1700 band so that's gotta be it, T does too actually so I'm thinking they would be good.

I can confirm that the Xperia TL AT&T ( USA )work with T-mobile ( USA ) 3g / 4g Network. and it downloads and uploads faster than my Galaxy S3

Int. Razr HD, Razr i on T-Mobile USA?

My parents are considering ditching VZW and going with T-Mobile. The bring-your-own-phone discount T-Mo offers is really appealing to them, and my dad's a huge Moto fan (IDK why). So, that said, i went poking around, and found a couple reviews that stated they were pentaband phones? I know Pentaband usually means T-Mobile 4G-friendly (EG galaxy nexus) but i really wanted to confirm that they would work on T-Mo at full speed before recommending either of the phones.
According to GSMArena, these are the bands the phones have:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
So... how would they fare?
Thanks in advance!
Is the phone unlocked? My Droid 3 had to be flashed to even work on gsm plus unlocked. It will work with 3g if you live in an area on air portal.de.

It doesn't have the 1700 mHz band, so unless you live in an area that T-Mobile has completed (or is in the process of), the refarming of the 1900 mHz band to,HSPA+ you will only get EDGE data speeds. Calls and texts will work fine.

So for future reference, the 1700 MHz band is important one? Is that single band used for 3G and HSPA+ "4G", or just one of them?

T-Mobile uses both the 1700mHz and the 2100mHz bands, you need both to get "4G" or HSPA+ (since HSPA+ is really 3.5G you will fall back to EDGE is the phone is not compatible.)

Correct. Thankfully the refarm is going well and it should be hitting the top 100 markets soon. I'm really excited for Wichita getting this because I'm stuck on edge.

So that means the Xperia T will work on non-refarmed areas, on '4G'?
Here are the bands, as according to gsmarena:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100

Whoa very nice you can use either AT&T or T-Mobile for 3G without worrying about refarming.
Sry I hope i dont double post here cause i dont have the timd to read the full thread just my two cents:
Motorola RAZR i
No 4G at all
Unlocked and carrier free
Will it be released in the US? I thought it wouldnt...
And when amazon germany is correct it will be released on 15., two days later i will get it
Again sry for (possible) double posting
//Robert
1) Razr i has, AFAIK, AT&T HSPA+ "4G" radios, just no LTE
2) sim free version, yes
3) In the US we get the Droid Razr M, which is identical except for its S4 CPU and VZW LTE radios. Doesn't stop us from importing the GSM Razr i tho
4) I thought it was already out?
Uk only so far i think, France and Germany up next. Sweden seems to be a no show
Thanks for correcting me
Though im on vacation till 18th so i will get it on 20th when i meet a friend who ordered it for me :/

Unlocked Version Spec Differences, Band Differences?

If I were to buy an unlocked version from HTC, or from another retailer, maybe from the UK, are the specs different? What about the hspa, hspa+, or LTE bands?
Right now I have TMO, if I could find an unlocked version before they release the phone, I'll buy that, just curious about the specs and usage.
LTE won't work at all. HSPA+ might but on TMOUS you probably won't get HSPA+ unless the variant has AWS.
Anyway to know?

purchase the HTC DEV EDITION.
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=4041
LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900
WCDMA 850 / 1900 / 2100
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
T-Mobile version supports WCDMA 1700 instead of LTE 850/1900
I want to buy the phone outright, but since I live in Houston, there is LTE with both T-Mobile and ATT, will the Developer edition allow for LTE on either carrier? I don't want to get stuck with something that only has Edge of HSPA+ speeds.
Unless I"m missing something, the T-Mo version would work on all bands on both AT&T and T-Mobile. The Dev edition wouldn't get you HSPA on AWS for T-Mobile (which is almost all of T-MO HSPA), nor would you get WiFi calling if you were going to be using T-Mobile.
Edit: More info on the Dev edition:

I have no idea.
It seems strange to me. Why is the regular version (sold on Handtec, Clove etc...) more expensive than the developers version?

Now that I think about it, since it's a dev phone, why wouldn't they enable all bands if it were technically capable? Seems to me there'd be a hardware difference limiting the bands.

Are those importers?
From what i've read, the Developer edition is 64GB and only available in Silver (booo!)
And it doesn't support HSPA+ on T Mobile in the USA
However, I don't care about T Mobile HSPA+, what I want to know is if it will work on other UK networks with HSPA+
All the information i can find goes on about T mobile....does anyone know if it contains HSPA+ that works on other networks?
This website says:
http://www5-shopamerica.htc.com/cell-phones/productdetail.htm?prId=41599
HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US)
However, I think HTC are going to pimp any and all versions possible
We already now know the nexus edition is coming
As this design is so popular, I would image they will start making HTC One Mini, HTC One Pad and other improvements to the current design
I had a tweet back from one of their developers about a black 64gb dev version, she said anything is possible
I would imagine they are just having stock issues at present, so i'm hoping for a black version

[Q] Xperia Z in USA problem

Hi all
I bought the Xperia Z C6603 in UK will it get 3g or 4g or let in NY, USA?
i been reading in the blogs that it wont support you will only get GPRS or EDGE based on this t-mobile thread http://support.t-mobile.com/thread/40671?start=0&tstart=0
but can the Devs do something to make it work on 3g/4g with current hardware in the phone? or should I return and buy the phone when it comes in the USA?
all help is appreciated
I'm not sure about 3g, but I've heard that the 4g bands that the phone uses are different then being used in the States. So that won't work.

As I posted here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231009&page=2
The reason is, according to T mobile
Depending on where a tower is at in the 4G life cycle, theoretical maximum download speeds range from 21 Mbps – 42 Mbps.
T-Mobile's HSPA+ network operates on the same band as our 3G network, Band IV, which uses 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz frequencies to transmit voice and data services. The 1700 MHz frequency sends information to cell sites and the 2100 MHz frequency receives information.
As with our 3G network, both 1700 MHz frequency and 2100 MHz frequency are required for a device to function. If a device only has one of these frequencies, it cannot use T-Mobile’s 3G and 4G networks.
T-Mobile is switching some 1900 MHz frequency from EDGE to HSPA+. This will allow devices that work on 1900 MHz, such as AT&T devices, to use our 4G network.
and yes,the Xperia z uses UMTS HSPA+ Bands 1, 3, 5, 8 which are
1 for 2100, 3 for 1800, 5 for 850 and 8 for 900
the HSDPA in T mobile are in the bands 1700 and 2100, just like the 3G, and the Xperia Z model c6603 uses bands 850/900/1700 only!!! the C6602 model uses the same bands plus /1900/2100 so, if you miss one band in T mobile you will never have the HSDPA speed, no matter the firmware, because is hardware
This info is according to Sony Official Page www.sonymobile.com, so as you can see you are missing one band, the 1700
Resuming, is hardware issue, and I dont think that the developers will be able to get 4G speeds or even HSDPA if the chip required is missing iin the c6603
c6602 is the only choice
Im currently have c6602 on tmobile and I can get h+ speed on it I did order c6603 and only get EDGE. You will have to set APN manually se the phone canlog into the network. Or u will have to get ZL since I heard that Xperia Z wont be distributed through any US carriers.

[Q] Use C6616 modem Z and get AT&T LTE?

meant model Z.........So I just read about this model and see it has AWS and 700 Mhz for LTE - does this mean if I get this phone it will work on AT&T LTE in the U.S? Anyone tried this yet?
also.....Negri Electronics has a unlocked Z Tmobile in black that says it has 700Mhz and AWS LTE bands but they say it can only be used outside U.S. (they list it as international) that AT&T would block it? WTF over?
i dont think at&t will block it. if it supports the at&t lte bands it will get lte but there are multiple lte bands for at&t so if it only supports one of them lte will be spotty depending on the area the phone is used in

Yeah, I don't know......I chatted with a rep there and all he would say is that you cannot use this in the U.S. - I asked if this is because tmobile has a contract w/ Sony and he said I'd have to ask Sony about that. It almost seems like that is what they have to say - but i'm wondering if it would work.
this is what the site says about the frequencies for this model:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network WCDMA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
i think other users in this forum are using one of the xperia z's with at&t

Yeah, but are they getting LTE? Why the hell Sony chose to release the ZL with AT&T LTE frequencies but not the Z (at least not officially) is beyond me......
probably the same reason it took 6 months for tmobile to get it(which is the the one i have)
I already tried flashing 6616 baseband. Unfortunately, it doesn't have 700 band LTE. It is from Bell, even though they state that their 6616 has AWS and 700.
I'm currently using 6506 baseband but I can't get access to at&t LTE network.

[Q] c5503 in USA ?

Is it possible to get 4g or 3g data with this device in the US ? Which operator to choose ?
Thanks
The only possibility is AT&T. However, during my trip to the states last week, I only got h+ in DC. Maybe it was just a problem of coverage. The frequency should be alright. So I'm not sure what to tell you. If you check the specs, it matches the LTE band of AT&T.
Sent from my C5503 using XDA Free mobile app
C5503 will most likely get nothing above EDGE - which is E+. No carriers over there are set for 2100 MHz, and only few and scattered use 850 MHz. You might get lucky if you hit 850 MHz 3G coverage by AT&T.
