http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295068
the bootloader I had was 5.XX so I use this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597837
i use this room
RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_1.69.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE
my problem is with the SPL i got a SPL version 1.57 and i cant intall RSPL.
What can i do?
ty.
When you ran the RSPL wizard there wasn't a 1.5 RSPL version that was a close match? It doesn't have to be exactly 1.57 but a 1.5xx version.
If not you can try and install a different PreNoDo/Nodo rom to the device that has a different SPL version that is supported by RSPL/HSPL.

XSPL - Fail
i tried with other radios and used Task 00 but none pass from 3%
The radio won't effect whether or not you can install XSPL.
The only other thing that can prevent it from installing is the devices MID. What's your devices MID?
Enter into bootloader mode and the first line on the top is the devices MID and will look something like "PD29130"

Hey Guyz
Ijust flashed SPL 1.54 on my blackstone via uspl. now I got the problem that I can't flash another spl like 1.56 olinex or anything else cuz the communication between blackstone und PC via USB breaks every time.I'm sure my USB devices are fine but what happend to my blackstone? I can't even flash ROMs with my the spl 1.54 cuz it freezes in "Loading..." screen in the bootloader...(SD flash)
here is the link to the spl I tried to use,
http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/htc_touch_hd_forum/72426-htc_touch_hd_spl_1_54_a.html
I precicely followed the instructions in the Video and my bootloader actually shows SPL version 1.54 but only in that screen, when I'm in the installer of another SPL (tried 1.14 and 1.56) the version isn't displayed.
anyone got an idea what to do? The Way it is I ruined my guarantee and can't even flash Roms :-(

If your SPL is 1.54.0000 then you need to re-use USPL before flashing. USPL is only temporary and needs to be re-used before every flash
Read this guide and post any further queries within that thread.

Hi,
I've just downgraded my G1 to RC7 and rooted it. Then I flashed Amon_Ra's recovery 1.7.0. My bootloader was 0.95.0000 so I flashed the mathing engineering SPL 0.95.3000 (as suggested here wiki.xda-developers.com/phpwiki213/index.php?pagename=HTC_Dream_Bootloader )
But the wiki also says 'Be aware that the partial-engineering SPL 0.95.3000 (and the hacked version 10.95.3000) do NOT have the ability to fastboot flash a radio or spl image. It is necessary to install ?SafeSPL 1.33.2003 first.'
So what is SafeSPL and how is it safe to flash it? 0.95.3000 and 1.33.2003 don't match in any way, do they?
EDIT:
found the answer in the wiki article
1.33.2003 aka ?SafeSPL -- a full engineering SPL, origin unknown. This SPL is entirely compatible with DREAM ORIGINAL SPLs, 0.95.0000 and 0.95.3000.

so 0.95.0000 und 0.95.3000 are kind of "matching" with 1.33.2003, so I'll switch from 0.95.3000 to 1.33.2003 (which seems to be "SAFE", and can't cause a brick) and then flash new radio and dangerSPL with fastboot as soon as I get home. I hope that'll work this way...
are there any "safe" sources, maybe with md5sum for 1.33.2003? There is no link given in the wiki article
EDIT2:
just found the answer in someones signature
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6510019#post6510019
but it is safe to upgrade from 0.95.3000 with radio 1.x to 1.33.2003 ? Because I still have a stock radio 1.x and wanted to flash 1.33.2003 SPL and then flash 2.x radio via fastboot. Don't want to brick it
EDIT:
maybe we should also add a table/matrix to the wiki, that clearly says what combination of SPL/radio will cause a brick on flash with recovery

This information is spelled out VERY CLEARLY in the wiki. I really suggest that you READ it....

Hi, I cant get this radio to flash on my mates Inc S (it worked fine on mine). He has s-off (xtc clip method), latest recover, root etc, but when I flash using PG32IMG hboot method I get 'Incorrect model ID' or something like that. Also tried same thing using a goldcard. Also tried fastboot method as per post 1 ARHD1.1.0 thread. No success
Any ideas please ?

If this is a Candanian IncS, then the model id in the PG32IMG.Zip file needs to be changed.

Actually its a UK device, but only about a week or so out of the shop, unlike mine which is a few months old and an older hboot version . The engineering hboot in the link you mentioned may be the answer, thanks for the pointer.
Cheers

thanks, the link is also to ENG hboot, I think this will be the answer, will try it and post back outcome.
Thanks all for the guidance.
find out one method in ARHD 1.1.0,dload the radio file, open and read it.
Guys be careful when flashing radios, because i flashed 6.03.03 from gu1dry's thread and then tried to run a lower version ruu and broke the software on the phone. Now i need to use xtc clip to revive.
post by ieftm
"gu1dry, could you please adjust your RUU zips to include a lower mainversion?
preferably something really low like 1.00.0000.0.
Some of these zips have:
mainver: 2.21.1400.8
Which might spell trouble for people that attempt at flashing a RUU afterwards (as they're left with a broken RUU and a high mainversion).
Thanks"
Just make sure you ask all q's before playing with stuff like this it will avoid what i am facing. Just want to help
neo-X, pitty your on the other side of the world, you could have borrowed mine. Thanks for the warning though, I think I will re flash the new radio using the link from post 1 of ARHD to be safe.
Resolved my mates problem by flashing ENG hboot, then the new radio flashed ok. I don't understand why it was necessary to do this ENG hboot thing, since I did not have this problem with my own inc s. Must be something to do with latest stock hboot I guess. One other word of warning, after installing the ENG hboot his phone would not boot past the first HTC boot screen, but was able to go into custom recovery, wipe then flash ARHD rom, then booted up all OK.
Thanks gudge...luckily i got it working, just needed to flash the new higher version ruu that was just released

How do I get radio s-off so I can install another radio. I'm not a complete idiot (as the topic says), but I'm having trouble understanding these "adb" commands, where to typ them in, and if I need some program on my computers.
So I would appreciate an idiots guide to s-off
You don't necessarily need radio S-OFF to flash a different radio. If you have HBOOT S-OFF you can flash a new radio in the bootloader.
Hello,
As said above you don't need radio soff. I think to be able to flash you need only boot soff.
If you have a stock rom you can gain soff using alpharevx (see dev section).
For windows the useful software is:
- htc sync (from HTC site) for the correct usb drivers;
- Android sdk (google)
- I don't know if eclipse is a req or not (i've installed)
- fastboot (google)
The "famigerate" adb is in the Android sdk.
For tutorial, there are a lot in the dev section.

Yeah, I did so too! Didn't know how I could've missed that part Sorry for the lame question ...lol!

actually - no. AlphaRev HBOOT cannot flash radio.
I managed to update my radio in the AlphaRevX HBOOT screen by booting into it with the new radio (named as PG32IMG.zip) in the root folder.
It does seem, however, that you can't flash a radio like this on some newer phones (at least that's what the word on the forums is telling me), so maybe my way doesn't work for everyone. Guess ENG HBOOT might be the only way for some people after all, but my phone didn't need it.
So can someone actually confirm, can we flash Android Revolution with Alpharevx S OFF In his post it says the radio needs to be S OFF, which is different to Alpharevx S OFF, and reading other posts who only have Alpharevx S OFF when they have flashed AR ROM they are experiencing problems during calls, so they then have to install eng hboot which, in itself, seems to cause problems also. Have i lost u yet
Android Revolution post says:
"HTC Incredible S S-OFF
Radio S-OFF in order to flash new radio
ClockworkMod Recovery with EXT4 support from here"
jaysonline says:
"alpharevx s-off is sufficient...you don't have to do a special radio s-off..I'm already running Android Revolution HD 1.1.0
edit: even I didn't find anything specific about radio s-off"
Can someone please finalise...maybe someone has flashed AR using just Alpharevx S OFF and all is ok.
Cheers.
btw, watching Terminator 2....what a film...even after at least 100 watches
You don't need radio S-OFF to flash a ROM, so yes, you can flash ARHD with only the HBOOT S-OFF and root. The only thing you may not be able to flash is a radio, but that depends on the individual phone, as I mentioned in the post above.

Yes, exactly my experience. Two UK Inc S's, both s-off'd with XTC clip, one flashed radio no problem, the other newer one would not flash radio til ENG hboot installed.
I have flashed new radio with HBOOT S-OFF. I tried to install ENG hboot but had some problems. Just installed adb and followed instructions from Android Revolution HD 1.1.1 post. Maybe i'm lucky

Think I'm gonna stick with the stock ROM. Quite happy with it really, sooooo much better than my Samsung Omnia HD i had before in every way....it actually does what it says it can do without having to implement a **** load of workarounds! All I would be interested in if i flashed a new ROM is better battery performance, and they cant necessarily guarantee this. Think Ill try this out first for battery performance:

After having a HTC Buzz for only a few days now and spending most of that time trying to downgrade HBOOT from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 without success, I thought I would share this very easy way of going about it.
I followed [GUIDE] Downgrade to HTC Froyo WWE for AlphaRevX (HBOOT 1.01.0001) without success. After reading through the posts a lot of people did it hassle free but for others they could not accomplish this at all, like myself. With this procedure Step1 was successful, Goldcard was created successfully but for me Step2 just closed without actually doing anything.
I achieved downgrade from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 by simply installing a Ship ROM available on 3xeno thread [RUU] HTC Wildfire Shipped / Stock ROMs Collection [Complete]. The ROM is a WWE Froyo ROM and this will automatically downgrade HBOOT for you to 1.01.0001 just by simple having your phone plugged into the data cable, clicking the .exe and following the popup Wizard. The Ship ROM can be downloaded from Multiupload or Rapishare. After flashing this ROM I am now on 1.01.0001 and I successfully achieved S-OFF, flashed a custom Recovery and Rooted my phone by following the Revolutionary Method. I can now flash any Custom ROM, zip update or simply flash a percentage battery icon in the original Buzz ROM.
Step1 from "[GUIDE] Downgrade to HTC Froyo WWE for AlphaRevX (HBOOT 1.01.0001)" (Link above) was successfully installed before the Ship ROM was Flashed so maybe others can try Flashing the Sip ROM without Step1 installed and let me know.
I hope this helps others to get HBOOT to 1.01.0001.
