I have completely given up on Dell sending me my replacement. All I have is a bad display.
If anyone knows where I could get a bad S7 with the display still intact please let me know.

Need a Broken Streak 7
I could use a broken Streak 7. I need the PDMI connector port out of it. I am willing to buy a broken streak for this purpose.
Amazon is selling the part. The dealer sends it from China. I have the same problem and am awaiting the part to replace and will notify as soon as I get fixed

us wifi, everything stock, went into read only mode.
i just received the box from dell this is what came in.
1) box
2) sticker that has my address to send to dell
3) a paper so i can write what problems i have
4) and another paper i dont know what it is for. Its a sticker one sticker is the white glossy non-stick side and the sticky part has a brown paper bag texture and is blank. What is this one for? its about (2in X 5in)
so i stick the sticker with dells address over the one the box currently has?
any advice you guys can give so this procedure goes smoothly?

Fill out the form "describe problem, service tag #"
Fill out the other copy where its going..."name, address, company" mine went to mexico.
Also I went to my local fedex store they helped a lot.
Mine also went to Mexico, took about two weeks to get it back

Try to flash the recovery on Windws XP, not win 7
I was considering to send it as well but finally got the XP to install the AXP drivers. I could not do it on the Win 7 for some reason and now I am back on stock (rooted) but thank God without CWR.
If you have to return, take to a Fed Ex office. I had to fill out US Customs forms as they go out of the country, to Mexico. Viva la Dell.
ok went to drop it off at fed ex this morning. hope everything goes smoothly i think i should get it back pretty fast cuz it went to houston, tx.
my streak has stopped charging completely. for a while i had to get finagle the cord in the port just right to get it to charge. eventually it stopped working all together.
it appears by looking at the port on the streak, that the 2 pins furthest to the right are broken/gone.
the streak is well out of warrenty and i've read that dell isnt manufacturing them anymore.
was wondering if anybody has had this problem, and if there is anyway to get it charged. or if that port is replacable somehow.
*edit i didnt mean to post this here. i didnt realize i was browsing this forum when i clicked post new, i thought i was in General. my mistake.

an update for my situation... i checked my service tag on the dell site and my streak is still under warranty after all. so my device is currently at dell waiting to be repaired/replaced.
check your service tag on dell support and see if you still have warranty.
I do but guys said ( from Dell support ) that I am a second owner then the warranty doesn't work with me ... only with the first owner ... thats rubbish because warranty is for device not the person. Oh well ... I won't buy anything else from Dell in the future.

Hi there, you know the plastic caps at the top and bottom of the screen, can you get replacement ones for those? Mine has cracked.
I've seen some for the streak 5 i think: dellstreakrepairs.co.uk/spares.html "New Dell Streak Plastic End Caps" but assume that is for the 5 not 7?
Any ideas please?

I would contact dellstreakrepairs.UK and ask if they have Streak 7 parts. They repaired my Streak 5 and indicated they were repairing Streak 7's as well. Their website has a wanted post for old and damaged Streak 7's. They may have what your looking for.

Sorry, don't know the actual part number or precise name, but I believe they're called end caps.
