Hey all, i got one problem, i disassembled my htc hd 2 to desolder the old digitizer and to solder the new one, so i soldered, at first time it was not working, second time soldering - not working, that until i resoldered it 6 times, still, not working, so i soldered the old one ( broken one) tryed to turn up the phone - all normal, it turned, O2 logo showed, then waiting for a booting android-
Load done!

Go! go! go! ........... AND nothing happens ( with the new digitizer it booted good, fully, after the old one soldering back to the place - it is not booting, just till this go go go).
So what could be the problem? Please guys help me to find out whats wrong because it is getting me nervous... :crying:
If you can't help him, why do you even bother posting in his thread? Just to make posts?
Why do you solder so many times? The phone may be damaged now, because of your soldering, which may be done worse. If you're lucky, you can clean the parts and solder again, but I wouldn't do that. Try to flash WinMo and try to boot it. If it doesn't work, take the phone to somebody who can help you.

I was flashing a rom the other day (that i had flashed in the past and worked fine) and then i noticed that the touchscreen did not work. (everything else worked)
i flashed back to the cyanogen rom and my touchscreen still did not work.
(when i say my touchscreen doesnt work i mean that i cant touch anything, not even the android to set up my phone)
the trackball works but i am FORCED to touch the android and i cant
ive been flashing and still no luck, any ideas on what happened to my touchscreen or any ideas on how to fix it?
please help!!
I've seen a few of the threads. More than likely your touch screen has died (hardware issue - not software) and I'm not sure if that's replaceable.
Ask a technision :/ like the guy above said its proble the tS died may need replacement or ribbon isnt connected rite .
So whats my best bet in going about this?
i dont know what to do :/
if you feel like your able to take apart the phone and replace the screen, you could always try it. either that or buy a new phone or possibly a cell phone repair shop if you even have one.
i decided to kinda drop it.
it works now...
thanks for your help anyways guys!

I wouldn't be DROPPING it to fix it...
Problem is probably a badly seated ribbon cable, which means it is STILL not well seated and will probably happen again.
Look in the screen hinge as you're sliding the screen open -- see the little ribbons in there? Probably got yanked a little.
Hey all!
Today my phone seems to have completely died, it only boots into speedmod recovery but wont let me do anything in it, I managed to access the 'Install Zip from SD card' but there was nothing there it said. It wont boot into android what so ever. I again managed to access speedmod recovery and get to mount for storage mode which when connected shown no files.
It hasn't worked right since I was pushed over in town, I landed onto of my phone and it came out unscathed but since then it has crashed allot and the when I remove the back the smell of like when a capacitor has blown up (If you don't know that smell it's nasty, my tutor at college popped one to show us what happened, he was actually bored and wanted to do something fun and random XD) but yeah it stinks like that really bad.
I tried to boot into download mode and access it to install stocks but my computer hasn't picked it up at all in any way, doesn't even play the device connected or device faulty sound...
=/ I guess it is broken. What can you tell me? Any help would be awesome.

Hi, first of all don't panic until you have tried every possible fix.
I had once a problem when the phone only would boot up to an ugly exclamation mark and a drawing telling me to plug it to the computer, but the computer din't even notice when I plugged the phone so I supposed it was dead.
I would recommend you to try to make the JIG cable recommended in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551, I managed to put my phone in a working download mode and use odin to flash the SO again
Hope this helps
Hey! Thanks for the quick reply but unfortunately I tried this and nothing would happen. I had the download mode problem when I first tried to install custom roms, it worked then but unfortunately this time it hasn't =[
From what you say I would be very careful, from the smell you describe it sounds like a short somewhere, and could feasibly cause a fire , so pull the battery!

Smell of burned capacitor? Dude, dont turn it on.
Take battery off, disassemble it and watch the mainboard for any broken elements, if you have got a little electronic physics knowledge then take service manual, all onboard elements are marked there as R, C and so on, test them with multimeter, or ask someone to do it and pray you'll find damaged element. Start checking from power circuits (most likely the biggest capacitors sets onboard)
Also some soldering around may be broken, on battery circuit it would cause high temperature gain, use magnifying glass and little tool to make careful pressure to check it.
If some BGA chip unsoldered/bricked, then you are screwed. Maybe you know someone in hi tech service can resolder it for you, as usually it is not cheap.
Thanks for your help, I haven't disassembled the phone where the scent had grown stronger then faded slowly, I placed the battery back into the device enough so that the contacts were fully meeting and the scent came back strong. I will check it with a multi meter to see if there is any kind of fault to do with that.
Thanks again for your help, it is much appreciated =]
FIXED
Hey guys,
I just want to post a quick update to say I've got my Galaxy S working again. I managed to get the phone into download mode and it was eventually picked up in Odin3 I managed to get the phone working again, rooted and installed Darky's ROM 10 and as it turns out it is that causing the problem, sorry Darky but it doesn't work for me, 9.5 runs like a dream though so it's all good on that front.
Just got all my apps downloaded and installed and everything is in perfect order.
The wierd smell I spoke of in an earlier post is actually because of the wallet I kept my phone in, I've taken it out n it's stopped smelling so I've bought a new wallet for it, don't know why it smelled, probably because I kept my phone in my friends rucksack which has had alsorts spilled in it XD Thanks for the advice, it was much appreciated.
Hi, my celphone is going crazy!
When it's off, and i press the power button to turn he on, appears in the screen the screen that appears when you plug on wall charger, (just like the attached one), and it doesn't turn on, the only way to turn it on is putting the battery while connect the charger and make the three button combo, enter in recovey mode, and then select "reboot system now"!
So, i've gone to a repair store, and them told me that my boot sector is damaged, becouse the excessive flash's, and need to be restored using one "box".
I've returned to two different stock roms, but didn't worked.
What could i do?
Thanks!
P.S.: last week i've had to fix my power button, that was not working.
Hello, I am no expert, but i think what the repair store meant is that you need a JTAG repair with a riff box. What this means is that you need to find someone who owns a riff box and has had a lot of practice with JTAG to solder a cable to your phone's motherboard and replace the boot image. This is a very difficult procedure, the only people I KNOW that can fix this for you would be the guys at this site
http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/
I believe they'll do it for around 80 US dollars, give them a try. Good luck pal!
One other option, depending on your soldering skills (or whoever you take the phone to) would be to try applying AdamOutler's Unbrickable Mod. That would let you flash over pretty much anything that could be causing your phone to hang.
That is a problem, i have no soldering skils, and hava no trust one to do it for me...
I'll try some .jar heindals, today....
Other problem is the distance, i live im brazil, to send my phone to mobiletechvideos guys i'll need to wait a very long time to get it back!
Thanks!
Problem Solved!
Hey Guys problem solved!
I've applyed two different heindal packages one was SamsungCaptivate-SGHi897-UCKB2-Rooted-One-Click form AdamOtler i think, and the other was i897-Speedmod-K13E-GBbootloaders-One-Click, them i've flashed again the CM9 ics!
Thanks for the help!
Hi there can anyone help me please on this matter.
My wife has a HTC One M7. last week the phone fell in to the bath. I managed to open the phone up and clean it.
The phone was taken apart and cleaned correctly using the correct circuit board cleaning solution (sorry cant remember the name).
I then ordered a new battery as the old one was not holding full charge. I also ordered a new screen + digitizer as the old one was cracked.
I have put everything together and charged the phone.
The phone charges correcrtly and has no problems at all.
When i switch on the phone it starts as normal and makes normal sounds etc BUT the screen is dead.
There is NO life in the screen at all even though its a new screen etc.
I know that the old screen is working and even using that i still get nothing.
Has anyone else come across this issue ?
Are there any guides to test the screen driver IC etc ....???
Thanks for your help in advance
It seems like that you have got a faulty screen.

MIght be a faulty screen as said above, maybe a broken or badly connected flex cable. And since the phone went into the bath, maybe a defective motherboard. Its very hard to tell.
as @alray said, it's hard to judge what's the cause of the dead screen, it may be one of the three causes.
so first, you can connect your old screen to the motherboard, if it can still work, to check whether the mother board was damaged or not
if the old screen can be lighten up, you can exclude the possibility of damaged motherboard.
second , you can connect your new screen to the motherboard again. Just be carefully and pay attention to the connector. Make sure it is connected correctly. If the screen can't be lighted up, you need try to use achohol or something else in a small brush to clean the connector. Handle gently to avoid damaging the IC. After that check whether the IC has lost some part or not. Then, if the flex cable or connector is fine, you can connect the new screen to the motherboard again.
finally, if the new screen still keep the same same situation. you can almost judge that you ordered a defective part.
May the steps above helps!
Hi there
the screen works fine as well as the connectors.
These have been tested on another htc one phone.
I have noticed that the motherboard connecter is damaged..... i will try to get some pics up later today.
Thanks
A few months back I flashed the MCU on one of my KLD MTCB units, I had done it many times before and never had a problem, but this time, the unit went into recovery, started to flash the MCU, then the screen went blank and everything shut off and since then its been totally dead.
I put the SoM in my other MCTB/C machine and it booted (to recovery) and after rebooting it ran fine, but it will not boot in the machine and the SoM from the working machine wont boot in the non working machine either.
The front of the unit including the screen and SoM (Klyde units have the SoM mounted on the back of the screen) WILL boot if its removed and put on the working machine, so the problem is with the motherboard somewhere.
I think that maybe the mcu.img I was trying to update to (MTCB KLD v2,78) was corrupt.
It was suggested that I try the method to use when the buttonless units wont go into recovery - shorting pin 8 on the MCU etc, that doesnt work.
I m stumped.
I did have to solder a resistor back 6 months before the unit died, but it worked fine for 6 months before it died, I thought maybe the solder had cracked or something and re-soldered it, but it still wont boot.
I d be grateful for any suggestions.
I know who can repair it...
