More responsive phone over the XS. Screen is better too IMHO. Battery on TL is also better.
Sent from my Sony Xperia™ TL

Thanks Spectre51, yeah im excited to get my hands on it.

The LTE is nice also, much quicker network.
The screen is slightly larger. The TL is what the S should have been at launch.

I'm with rogers and the phone is coming from rogers.
Has anyone received the xperia t / tl from rogers and if so is the boot loader allowed to be unlocked?
i know with the xperia s some were unlock able and some were locked down.

TL compared to ion

I am currently using the ion, and I am thinking about upgrading the TL LT30at...Do you think this is a good upgrade? I like my ion, but I am getting a really good deal on the TL, and plus the specs are better on the TL and it now has Jelly Bean. I know AT&T has stopped selling the ion on their website, and said they no longer have them available...I know other vendors do, but AT&T said they do not..at least online anyway. Just thought I would get some opinions, thoughts, advice from some of you current TL users.
TL is good, but I miss my Ion! I upgraded and got the tl, but the one thing I'm missing is the infinity focus when recording video. Tl takes better pics, but I'm so pissed at AT&T I'm mad I'm only 3 months in on another 2 year contract
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
Ok, I got my TL in yesterday, and I sort of miss my ion already! I can tell the TL is faster, but it seems like the screen on the ion was brighter or something..I'm sure I could just adjust the settings though on the TL..I do see some improvements though from the ion. I'm sure I will get used to it. I'm hoping to notice better battery life, but probably not like since it does have a slightly smaller battery.

Xperia Z or Honami/i1

I am in a dilemma, I need a waterproof phone. I am thinking of the Z or the honami which is going to be announced on the 4th september with a potential october release date for the following reasons.
I know it is a rumour but i have heard about the honami potentially having a walkman s max music amp which would be good as I always felt the Z was a bit low in volume but I have heard that since the latest update it is gotten a bit louder which I am willing to work with.
Secondly the huge 3000mah battery
and lastly good 3g/signal
I am not fussed about the screen or processor speed or 20mp camera, so music, battery and good wi-fi/3g signal is my main priorities.
I am expecting the honami to be in the region of about £550 seeing as the Z was £520-£530 and honami does have beefed up specs, the Z is now £480 so potentially a £50-70 saving.
I have heard mixed reviews about the wi-fi reception and battery life of the Z and I would like to know owners opinions on the Z and what move you guys think I should make, should I get a Z now or wait.
Wait
I will sell my phone and buy honami when it will be out.
Edit: and i will make sure it's not UK unbranded

Late updates.
I will probably do the same, too. Selling the Z to get the Honami. I'm very interested in the Walkman capabilities of that device.
Ok thanks for your replies, the replies are already making me think twice about the z

My main thing is i am happy enough with my s4 but its not waterproof and i got caught in the rain the other day and even though my s4 was in my pocket it was raining so heavily that my phone got wet and it has been a been iffy since.
I would have gpt the xperia z already if i didnt read so much about bad battery life and wifi signal
As tbh I dont really want to pay £50-70 more ontop of the z if the wi fi signal is good and the battery is good enough

its gud and battery life is fabulous after root and removing bloatware and greenify app....4hrs screen on time is superb...obvsly when the new phone comes it would surely have superb spec list and evn it wud be more faster...every 2 or 3 months something updated wud be on its way
its upon you what you want..xperia z is good and fabulous phone of sony..honami would surely be a beast but you know it would get costlier and costlier...i have never seen my xperia z lag when using at optimum speed...s4 pro chips is powerful n s800 would be more powerful next year qualcom wud announce more power chips as 3ghz chips are on its ways...
so finally think and make a wise decision because by november or dec the new phone rumour would start leaking abt sony next flagship

Indeed that is another thing to think about that next year Feb or March a new sony phone (next years flagship) will be out again and like I said I don't really want to pay £530-550 over the £480 for the Z (it could even be more). I will still have my S4 for back up.
Get zr....best waterproof phone I ve ever had.

Don't worry about the battery life, I had an S4 and sold it to buy the Z. The battery life is about the same on both.
However, I have noticed the wifi signal isn't that strong on the Z, disconnects sometimes. But I'm still on 4.1.2, gonna update to 4.2 and see if the wifi improves.

I decided to bite the bullet and save myself potentially £70 and bought a white xperia z this morning at p4u for £480, so far I am loving the phone. Haven't been able to test battery life yet but I am currently doing the software updates.

Advice on Xperia Z vs Z1

Hello, I am looking to switch to Tmobile US and I really was drawn to the Xperia Z line of phones being an iPhone guy normally I liked the build quality of them.
My question is, since the Xperia Z1 isn't on Tmobile as of now, should I get the Z and just wait for the Z2 to come out or should I hold out for the likely release of the Z1 on Tmobile? There have been quite a few leaked press shots and other reasons to believe the Z1 is coming to Tmobile US but who knows how long it could be based on the Xperia Z being 5 months late after global release.
I want to switch ASAP from ATT but I don't want to buy the Z and regret it when the Z1 comes out. Is the Z1 that big of an upgrade for anyone who owned the xperia Z? I am coming from iPhone and battery and smoothness are important and those two things seem to be what the Z1 improved on with the Snapdragon 800 and larger battery.
Thanks.
Don't buy Xperia Z. Wait for Z1. It's much better and smoother. I sold my Xperia Z to buy Z1 and I can say that buying Xperia Z is stupid.

I actually like the larger screen on the Z that I played with in the store. I just don't know what to do in the mean time especially if they take their time with the Z1 launch to sell of the old ones stock. I need to switch soon to avoid another big ATT bill if I can.
Coming from the Z, I would say that the Z1 is definitely an upgrade. A huge one at that. However if weight's your thing you have to note that the Z1 is 170g which isn't that light compared to the Z. The difference in weight is notable when you hold them...(and your IPhone is lighter so you'll want to take that into consideration)
In terms of smoothness, Z1 never lags. S800 chipset is great, definitely better than the S4 Pro. You won't feel the difference through regular use...
Battery wise Stamina mode will help extend battery life so don't worry about it. But as a power user I can tell you for sure that the bigger battery didn't lead to bigger battery life. Still, I can definitely get through a full day on 1 charge with enough juice to spare...
Hope I helped.

A powerful processor doesn't compensate for a poorly coded app(or not optimized for X device)
Even the super "smooth" iphone 5S can lag with the right app

Yes, I have also upgraded from Z to Z1, no comparison in terms or performance. Love not having to open a flap to insert my headphones!!! I find the Z1 better to hold in the hand, the Z to me was a little to square and I always felt like the Z was going to fall out of my hand. Love the magnetic charge port. If it was me right now in your position I would not be buying the Z

Really, I notice a huge difference on a daily basis with mine, I have an email app that marking all my mail messages as read used to take about 5-10 seconds, now well less than 1. No skipping of playing mp3's, draging things to your desktop now pretty much instant, vs a couple of seconds, launching apps way quicker, No lags.

Good to know, I was worry about the phone. AND goot to know they selling crap. Even on my HTC that app was the same.
I did a video a while back about the reasons why you may consider choosing the Z1 over Z. Here it is:

[Q] Xperia T worth buying now?

My last phone was a Xperia Arc (loved it, only issue was low RAM), I lost it and now I need a replacement. I need a cheap android WITH MHL or HDMI port. I came across Xperia T for 240€, which is good enough for me. I know every phone has its issues, so I ask you if you think this would be a good choice. Im suprised at how "cheap" it is with such a fancy camera and other specs (which I dont really need), but I cant find a decent phone that has TV-OUT within this price range.

I suggest taking the Xperia V. It's a little smaller (an advantage imo) and waterproof ^^
By the way it also has LTE support, if that matters for your region

Internals are almost identical, but...
Xperia V is waterproof, and is smaller, and is having removable battery.
Xperia T is having bigger display, is better looking (this is subjective of course), and is having doubled internal memory.
Comparing them side by side...
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4958&idPhone2=4899
...you'll notice that Xperia V appears to be slightly taller and thinner, and this is where Xperia T gets my voice for being prettier.
They are actually the same height, but V is 2,3mm thinner, and bezels appear bigger.
I was in the same dilemma three months ago, when I sold my Xperia Arc S, and I chose Xperia T, and honestly, I love this phone.
It's sexy, nicely built, and Jelly Bean is working quite good out of the box. This is the first phone that I haven't armed with some custom ROM.
It all comes down to personal taste really, when choosing between T and V. Some will say V, some will say T.
I say check some reviews, some videos, and make your own decision. Never ask for suggestion on public forums.

Im in Germany, and the XT is some sort of a really cheap nice deal, and its not same prized like the XZ. You pay nearly 100euro more for the XZ
You can get the XT round about 230euro +/-
But whatever, best argument for the XT is the look and feel and the displaysize-hardwaresize relation, better than on the XV.
And we have omnirom support, another good argument, if you like flashing custom roms

Help on Deciding.

Hey guys, i have quite allot of android phones and i have tried to stay away from Sony since they lock their boot loaders and it looked like it was hard to develop anything i haven't gotten one (the old ui was FUGLY as well). i own a T989 Galaxy s2 (in fact i own three of them!) as my Main for right now and its getting pretty old (cpu and gpu are old and Games are not as well handled as they used to) i have been thinking of getting a new phone and that phone i have come down to is either a Samsung Galaxy mega 6.3 or a Xperia Z or Xperia SP, i have never payed attention to the Xperia line and they have a pretty good thing going for now, i think i might have to move them to my list of jobs i might take up . everything about the Xperia Z looks pretty great, everything beats out my s2. thought im worried that i have heard that xperias TFT Screens have TERRIBLE veiwing angles, i dont honestly know if i care about that but do any of you get disappointed by this? and do you think it would be the same on the Xperia SP? if so please state what you dont like about the Xperia Z, your Help is appreciated .

Xperia Z & Z1 really has very bad viewing angles,SP about same, but better

i see that the Xperia Z1 compact only has a 4.3" screen. my s2 has a 4.5" and i would like something bigger or equal to that. i see that the Xperia Z2 Compact will have a bigger screen but when it comes out is unknown. im sure i wouldn't mind the poor viewing angles, but the real question is would i be fine with the SP or do i need a bigger screen (Xperia ZL) for $100 more?
Im viewing my phone head on and don't really want people watching my screen so the 'terrible' viewing angles don't mean much to me. When I show people videos on my phone no one has complained saying they cannot see. Im an ex Z user and current Z1 user. Id go for the Z out of your choices.

S2 have the same 4.3" like Z1 Compact
While Z2 Compact would probably be around 4.6"
Sony won't support SP much as it is not Z Series,so i still suggest you to go for bigger screen of Xperia Z / ZL
Z2 is the best choice
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
If you are looking at the Z2, i personally suggest looking at the newer HTC One M8 and S5.
Sony has JUST begun to catch up with competition, an example is they finally use IPS displays that don't give washed out colours.
Another thing that is an issue as of right now is, their software updates arrive late and with serious bugs, just take a look in the Z Ultra, Z1, Z1 Compact sections about their 4.4 update.
Also, the Z2 has quite large bezels.
Another thing to keep in mind is, when the next flagship Sony comes out soon, Sony will shift most their focus to that device, resulting in the Z2 having a shorter life as a top priority device compared to other companies devices.
(Sony has a 6 month flagship rotation, other companies usually have a one year flagship rotation)
Sony has begun to improve slowly, but to me, Sony is still a risky choice if you are looking for a flagship grade device and support.
All this is just my personal opinion
