You can get a slightly better sound with beats audio from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525226
But it's only for Headphones, I think. I also hope for Voodoo Sound.

Same here. I like SRS better than others effects. I'm using Westone UM2.
I use srs, beats sounds a bit tinny to me
If You are using HTC Innovation headphones, then SRS wil be the best one fitting you.
If you are using HTC headphones, you gave rocks in your head.
Sorry, but they are really bad IMO.
Take it from a sound engineer: beats audio is nothing but marketing. The actual sound quality you get is no better than a standard consumer product. In fact, it may well be worse, since they crank up the bass response for no real reason.
In certain cases, the sound hardware must put into considerations as well. Such as headphones accessories.

thanks for your professional meaning. how do you rate the other settings like SRS, dolby mobile etc?
Beats practically made no difference on my phone. What does is, DSP manager. But you need your phone to be rooted for that. And trust me, You need to hear it to believe it!
Makes your sound, specially beats, better than any ipod ever made.
I think so. SRS is wider and louder than Beat.
Or maybe I need Beat earphone to run with it
I thought all these sound enhancement things were in the kernel
and that sense roms are based off HTC kernels with SRS
so therefore AOSP roms dont have SRS
Therefore none have beats or dolby
Please correct me if im wrong
All this has come from surfing around other forums, with kernels that say they have beats integration and rezound sound drivers etc.
Personally I don't like srs, beats audio seems to me that doesnt' change anything...
I think that beats driver does something only in phones that have a native hardware support...
BTW, I'm using ue-600..
there is a way to install the Beats Audio, which I RockoDev for all roms in Incredible Gingerbread S, and probe some zip but remain on bootloop to initiate or otherwise do not allow me to use the native player I get FC

The end-all thread for ROMS and sound quality

Alright ladies and gents, I want a general consensus, and maybe teach my how to add a poll?
What ROM has the best sound quality?
Im talking GB roms, well everything.............
I have headphones and on most roms the right ear buzzes like ****, and it happens on both my headphones (decent quality) and not on my PC or half broken MP3 Player. Suppressed rom is aesthetically my favourite now with 7.5 but dear holy jesus the right ear is a mess of buzzing.
I've tried the various BEATS and stuff but I really think it comes down to who and how the rom was built
Sound Quality:
Ultrasound v3
Overclock, Speed &Power:
Zues v6.39n / without n
Best Customization:
Marvel v9
Picture Quality:
Noa Sense
Overall For all Specs:
Boype's Modded CyanogenMod7
Im using Beats Solo HD and am using vol*me+(An app)(Paid)
And jays Four. That app gave me lots of quality and power. And you can use its root settings for more sound quality

[Q] Audio CAL Tool

In "Hidden Menu"/"Device Test"/"All Auto Test Menu"/"Sound Test"/"Audio CAL Tool" looks like we can change the sound settings.
Can someone teache me how it works? (like if I was a 10 years old kid )
Thanks in advance
To make a specific area of audio louder or quieter, for example the speaker, go to setgain and scroll to bottom where it ssays 90, change to a higher value for louder volume nigga *****

Techno lovers?

I dabbled with sound modifications on my Atrix 4G back in the day to maximize bass without all of the distortion to provide clear sound with incredible bass. Since we still haven't gotten a custom recovery and do not have a fully deodexed ROM, this thread will provide a simple way to create similar sound quality and will be updated once development gets going for our devices.
I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY HARM THIS COULD DO TO YOUR SPEAKERS / HEADPHONES.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THESE SETTINGS FOR ANYTHING BUT DIFFERENT VARIANTS OF TECHNO
NOTE: This is meant for high-end studio headphones and a really good sound system. Plugging in other headphones or low quality speakers could potentially ruin them. (Blew a couple of speakers in my old surround sound system.)
For headphones, this has only been extensively tested with a pair of Sony MDR-XB500's and these setting are meant specifically for them.
--this will change over time--
Required apps/mods:
PowerAmp
Step 1: Enter settings, sound, then wired stereo devices under audio effects and change it to Bass Punch.
Step 2a: in PowerAmp, go to the equalizer section. Make sure Equal, Tone, and Limit are turned on. (Limit helps remove distortion.)
Step 2b: Change the preset to techno and raise the preamp (furthest left bar) slightly. Then raise 62 to a bit above 31.
Step3: Under Tone, turn treble up all the way and bass a little over half. Stereo x should be turned up about 1/8.
The above steps should be somewhat okay for lower-end headphones and sound systems. To fully maximize the quality and bass for high-end sound systems and headphones, mimic what I did in the posted screenshots.
Screenshots coming soon. Won't let me upload them for some reason..
I'm also taking requests on different genres and music players to better suit those that aren't all about Techno like myself and the other shufflers here on XDA.

I'm a freak when it comes to music lol. I've done similar things on a couple f friend's GS2's and whatnot. It'll be much better once we get development for our devices going. I'm hoping the old zip I made for my Atrix 4G will work for the HD once we get CWM or something. Lots of tweaks to Beats Audio and XLoud alongside DSP Manager. I still prefer using my 4G for music over the HD for now. Sound quality is absolutely amazing.
