Hello guys,
So I just downloaded the leaked official JB ROM for my N7000 and flashed it successfully via Odin (I came from the latest CM10 Nightly build).
After that I wanted to flash the latest Hydracore to have my phone rooted, but apparently it comes in .zip format only.
Since I'm not rooted and I don't have CWM now, how can I get to flash Hydracore via PC Odin?
Hope someone has the answer for this, as the internet is just full of bullocks all websites are describing the same non working procedure....
Thanks all

latest jb leak does not work with hydracore. If you want to root use philz kernel zip file and install using stock recovery.

will do so... I already flashed Hydracore and now I'm stuck @ Samsung's logo
Hopefully I won't face such issues again

Well, I've downloaded both v3.65 .zip files (XXLSA and XXLS7) and tried flashing them through CWM which was already on the device.
After rebooting either, it goes into a black screen after the initial boot screen (Galaxy Note GT-N7000).
Bear in mind I had already flashed Hydracore before that...
Any helpers as to what I'm doing wrong?
Should I reflash the stock ROM via PC Odin then flash Philz kernel via stock recovery?
Thanks in advance
P.S. I know I messed up big time
As what my friend nokia said. Hydracore is not compatible with jb leaks rom.
I m not so sure which kernel u r now, since u stuck at boot logo.
And I don't want to decide too fast that u have bricked ur phone.
Just try to flash the firmware again through odin. If u can, and can boot up, try to flash philz kernel from stock recovery.

That's what I'm thinking and doing now, wish me luck
I've also downloaded xxlsa to have 4.1.2 .. according to online tutorials I should flash cf-root via odin, then flash the rom via CWM .. any thoughts?
[Update - 1] phone is ok, re-flashed the stock firmware via PC Odin and it is working now, no problem! tried flashing cf-root, got stuck at the yellow triangle screen and nothing happens ... so I reflashed the stock rom again.
will try now to flash cf-root then boot into recovery, i just might be lucky
[Update - 2] upgraded to JB 4.1.2 successfully and rooted!
So which kernel are you using? and which Jelly bean?

I want to revert back to Stock GB from CM9. .Can i flash with mobile Odin??
flashing with Pc odin gives yellow triangle. .I dont want to that
It is not flashing with Odin that gives the red triangle. It is rooting your phone that does it. I used Odin to get rid of the red triangle (though the phone obviously still retains it's custom binary count)
I just downloaded the following ROM and flashed it with ODIN -
N7000XXLC1---------2.3.6-------2012 March----------N7000OXALC1-----------Open Europe----------------------------- Download (wipe)
I lost the triangle, lost root and gained a stock Galaxy Note.
Flashing stock Roms using PC Odin never gives you the triangle. Flashing custom kernels, Roms does.

Just as he said.. but if don't wana use Odin at all..then download the custom gb rom you want and download abyss3.9 kernel in your SD card..den do the following steps..
1.. go to recovery
2.. flash abyss kernel 3,9..
3.. don't reboot system...DONT...!!..
4.. go to advanced and select reboot recovery.. you will then reboot to abyss cwm recovery
5.. flash the gb rom you just downloaded..and reboot..
Okay first of all, flashing ANY STOCK ROM with PC Odin won't increase your binary counter, i.e. no yellow triangles.
Flashing ANYTHING (ROM obviously) with Mobile Odin won't give you the yellow triangle. Flashing non-stock or custom ROM with PC Odin will increase your binary counter.
So, just download any stock GB ROM from the development section and flash it with PC Odin. Simple!
I'm on Stock GB and wanna try CM9 ICS & other ICS roms... I know i have to flash Chainfire repack first, but which..?! There are more than one version...

Just flash ICS repack from CF which is available in Forum.. .. i guess it doesn't matter which one.. i have been flashing the old one whenever i go back to GB then come to ICS... i have done it many times now without any problems..
The one i found says NO WAY TO RETURN TO GB. So please give me link to the one you installed...
1. You CAN go back. Don't worry!
Here:

2. Flash this http://www.mirorii.com/fichier/3/501208/I9220LP1-N7000-ICS-REPACK-tar.html
Chainfire ICS LP1 Repack!
Just read the ICS Stunner forum.. It will help you a lot!
Thanks for all this. I tried all links and all goes @50ko/s Gonna search for it elsewhere.

Flash it with Mobile Odin (Pro recommended) keeping all the options of Everroot checked. DONT flash with PC odin ...u wont get root if you do that.
Reboot and let the rom settle. Then go to recovery and then flash Stunner or any other ics rom you want.
Cheers! Enjoy your Note.
Hit thanks if it helped
I'm late in the discussion but this topic interests me.
But why can't you just restore Nandroid back using CWM from your GingerBread backup Nandroid?
(you did Nandroid your previous GB rom before you went to ICS, correct?)
Hi,
I installed Jellybeer rom, and then the hydracore kernel..
Then i got the samsung note screen but nothing else..
I then followed another tut to revive it..
I flashed an odin rom (GB) but now it bootloops..
Anny suggestions?
yes.. boot into recovery and do a data factory reset and then restart
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
That kinda solved the problem ..
Thx!
Now i'm flashing a pre rooted GB rom with odin..
Then just go in CMW & flash an ICS rom?
Or first flash a safe kernel?
Gb has safe kernel, so get rooted, then use mobile odin to flash ics retaining root, then you'll need to flash a safe kernel once on ics such as hydracore or philz

You didn't get bricked at all, you just flashed an incompatible kernel on JellyBeer Rom. HC uses different Mali from Jelly.
All you had to do at that point was to reflash JellyBeer and reboot, and all would be well.

My question: I have a SGN infected with the eMMC bug, and I want to upgrade it to the latest stock ROM. I know very little about flashing, and I know there are some risks when doing some things. I would like to know if the first link is safe for me, and which ROM I should use of the ones listed there (I live in The Netherlands). Do you guys have any tips or some guides made for the noobs among us?
that 1st link is the safest and best.
download the rom of. your choice. It. doesn't need to be of. your region. although you can check the latest firmware on www.samfirmware.com....
Once downloaded, use pc odin with the downloaded rom tar.md5 file selected in the pda tab. The connect the phone to pc in download mode and press start.
If you are upgrading to ics, then do not do any wipes, first flash a safe kernel...

Thanks for replying. Good to know that that thread is safe, but what do you mean by flashing a safe kernel? Those terms mean nothing to me.
theres two way to flash ROM. 1 is using PC ODIN and the other one is CWM
Flashing Via PC ODIN .. you need to have two thing.. The Rom You Want to flash and the PC-ODIN software
Flashing Via CWM.. you need two things. You need to root your phone and you need to install CWM.
every rom comes with modem, kernel (the file that govern how to handle your phone cpu), csc... the kernel inside ics is known to have brickbug
theres no need to flash kernel if you are flashing Rom via PC ODIN... Flashing kernel is when you are using CWM....

So, I can just flash any ROM using ODIN, and there will be no risk bricking my device?
If I flash a ROM, will I have a fresh install, and will my kernel also change so that I don't have the brickbug anymore?

yes you can flash any ROM using ODIN safely without bricking your device.
yes you will have a fresh install. your kernel will change too. as for the brickbug....
If you flash via PC ODIN then everything is stock to what you flashed.the kernel the firmware the csc the modem..all as stock provided....
1.If you flash ICS via PC-ODIN then your kernel also would be stock ics kernel that has brickbug..
Warning :
Don't wipe anything from stock ICS recovery
Don't factory reset/Hard reset on stock ICS.
Don't flash any Wipe version of ICS ROM
let say you want to flash Latest JB Rom but you are on ICS stock.
first thing you need to do is root your device ...install CWM.. Flash safe kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
let say ive rooted... installed CWM with safe kernel...
what i always do is everytime i want to flash new rom whatever rom it is...i flash Speedmod 3-15 (safe kernel) and go to Advance>reboot recovery and flash any rom i want so that im on the safe side without worrying what kernel im on.
2.If you flash GB than your kernel will be GB kernel which is safe to wipe..
if you want to flash custom rom from gb then you root your device and installed CWM and Flash since GB kernel is safe.
but.. let say u flashed ICS and wanted to go back to GB. then you are not safe anymore,,, that is why i always flashed Speedmod kernel 3-15 (safe kernel) and reboot recovery (by going to advance>rebootrecovery) and flashed any rom... that way im always sure that im in safe kernel when flashing Rom

Hi, I tried changing my battery with rom toolbox and accidentally got it at an AT&T boot logo loop, I tried going into recovery and wiping but have the same problem and I can get it into download mode ive also tried redoing the kernel in Odin. Idk what to do now. Btw my phone is rooted but the battery thing is what caused the problem because my phone froze and i rebooted.
If u had a Dev'd Rom runnin before the trouble, just reboot into recovery and reinstall the Rom. Try that first.
And more info about what rom u r runnin would be useful. More info = and less info = :what:
But if u were just stock with root...u may just have to Odin or Heimdall back to Stock.

Yea i tried flashing before all of this i was trying to upgrade to jelly bean from gingerbread could you maybe give me some instructions to reinstall the gingerbread (or maybe upgrade to jelly bean if possible) sorry i'm kinda new to messing with my phone like this. im running gingerbread 2.3.5 currently and had the KK4 stock kernal idk what i should do with that though
Well since u r running stock kk4 then u r good with the kk4 bootloaders. So basically all u need is a kernel that has cwm recovery included...like the KK4 Corn Kernel. Odin flash the .tar version of it. Reboot into the cwm and select to install JB rom. It will reboot quickly into the Rom's cwm recovery and from that select to install the JB Rom again. Install the Gapps afterwards. Success.
TRussello put together a flashin guide in the Q & A forum. It is a sticky thread. U could check it out as well.
Be sure and read a lot and know what u r doing before u do it...because in the end only u r to blame if u jack up ur phone.

Hi,
I've just upgraded my Galaxy Note N7000 to stock JB ROM via Kies. The current version now is: N7000DDLSC. After upgrading, I wanted to move to Phil's Kernel, so I downloaded Phil's safe Kernel " DDLSC-ODD" .
However, after flashing Phil's kernel via recovery, my phone is stuck at Samsung's logo. I booted into recovery and can see touch GUI,so Phil's kernal is installed butwhen the phone is turned on it is stuck at samsung logo and I cannot proceed ahead. Once or twice the phone booted but was stuck at lock screen and then restarted again and got stuck at samsung logo again.
Can you please help me out???

Yes, I followed the method correctly. I downloaded the official JB rom yesterday and flashed it using PC Odin. For the time being I am back on official JB ROM and kernel, but want to know if it is safe to flash Phil's kernel or any other JB Kernel ?
Try flashing it again...follow instructions step by step... You shouldn't have that issue.... If it continues you can try a factory reset from Philz recovery
Of it still happens post back here for more helo

Not every safe kernal is compatible try to flash philz kernal wif the correct one then using ur external sdcard is better n safe on a phone rather then using pc odin. after u successfully flashed the right kernal n ur phone can start up normally then u can try other kernal as well.
once u flash to a different safe kernal try to make use of the safe kernal function to reboot recovery or reboot system now n update kernal need few mins to update if still stuck on N7000 logo then just go back to recovery n flash back the working kernal.
so far i don't see flashing different kernal is smooth so no point. as philz already mention that the kernal is base on rom built.

Download*xxx-signed.zip*kernel matching your ROM
Put the previously downloaded*xxx-signed.zip*file on your*external*sd card
Boot into stock recovery*(volume up+home+power)
Select*"apply update from external storage".
Now select the*xxx-signed.zip*file
