Hi,
I've just upgraded my Galaxy Note N7000 to stock JB ROM via Kies. The current version now is: N7000DDLSC. After upgrading, I wanted to move to Phil's Kernel, so I downloaded Phil's safe Kernel " DDLSC-ODD" .
However, after flashing Phil's kernel via recovery, my phone is stuck at Samsung's logo. I booted into recovery and can see touch GUI,so Phil's kernal is installed butwhen the phone is turned on it is stuck at samsung logo and I cannot proceed ahead. Once or twice the phone booted but was stuck at lock screen and then restarted again and got stuck at samsung logo again.
Can you please help me out???
did u follow the instructions ?

Yes, I followed the method correctly. I downloaded the official JB rom yesterday and flashed it using PC Odin. For the time being I am back on official JB ROM and kernel, but want to know if it is safe to flash Phil's kernel or any other JB Kernel ?
Try flashing it again...follow instructions step by step... You shouldn't have that issue.... If it continues you can try a factory reset from Philz recovery
Of it still happens post back here for more helo

Not every safe kernal is compatible try to flash philz kernal wif the correct one then using ur external sdcard is better n safe on a phone rather then using pc odin. after u successfully flashed the right kernal n ur phone can start up normally then u can try other kernal as well.
once u flash to a different safe kernal try to make use of the safe kernal function to reboot recovery or reboot system now n update kernal need few mins to update if still stuck on N7000 logo then just go back to recovery n flash back the working kernal.
so far i don't see flashing different kernal is smooth so no point. as philz already mention that the kernal is base on rom built.

How to flash safe kernal on stock rom.
Download*xxx-signed.zip*kernel matching your ROM
Put the previously downloaded*xxx-signed.zip*file on your*external*sd card
Boot into stock recovery*(volume up+home+power)
Select*"apply update from external storage".
Now select the*xxx-signed.zip*file
You are rooted + new PhilZ-cwm6 kernel

stuck in Samsung logo just mean you need to just fullwipe factory in CMW. but be sure you are on safe kernel such as Speedmode or Hydracore before wiping.. i dont know if xxls2 kernel is brick free or not. but stucking at samsung logo has always been solved by fullwipe factory in my case

that is correct. takes times. but if you waited more than 10 minutes try flashing other rom.. safest method is pc odin.

tell us how you flash it. via PC ODIN or ClockWorkMOD.?
as for the kernel if you have Extrnal sdcard then download SpeedMod 3-15 or Hydracore kernel than put that in your external Sdcard. Open CMW than flash the kernel then go to advance>reboot recovery.. wait for recovery rebooted than you are safe to flash other rom.

since you flash through PC ODIN means everything is stocked. Means the brick bug is present. you now only have samsung stock recovery and not ClockWorkMod.
if you are planning to install just Samsung Stock Rom then this step is applicable here
http://techie-buzz.com/android/samsung-galaxy-note-jelly-bean-firmware-leaks.html
or
http://din.huluselangor.net/?p=21813&replytocom=5359&wpmp_switcher=mobile
if you are planning install xxls2 custom then you must first root your phone then install CMW and Flash Desired rom with safe kernel installed
look here for tutorial

From where did you download the rom..it it was downloaded from sammobile or from that hotfile link, then you should flash it through pc odin
And if its a custom rom that you downloaded from the xda, then it should be flashed through cwm
the Sam mobile and the hot link are the same. youncan flash the rom using pc odin. but before that put the philz kernel xxls2 in the external sd. so that after the flash using odin, you can boot into recovery and flash that kernel and be safe and do the wipe.

Gents, Can you please clarify before I am going to do below. And advise if this is the proper way.
• Flash GB (2.3.6) and wipe
• Then flash ICS (4.0.4)
• Download Notecore (or Speedmod, CF root kernel) kernel and flash by PC-Odin
• Then copy N7000XXLS2 (LEAK) to SD card.
• Boot to CWM recovery, then flash from SD, restart.
Thanks.

Hello guys,
So I just downloaded the leaked official JB ROM for my N7000 and flashed it successfully via Odin (I came from the latest CM10 Nightly build).
After that I wanted to flash the latest Hydracore to have my phone rooted, but apparently it comes in .zip format only.
Since I'm not rooted and I don't have CWM now, how can I get to flash Hydracore via PC Odin?
Hope someone has the answer for this, as the internet is just full of bullocks all websites are describing the same non working procedure....
Thanks all

latest jb leak does not work with hydracore. If you want to root use philz kernel zip file and install using stock recovery.

Thanks much
will do so... I already flashed Hydracore and now I'm stuck @ Samsung's logo
Hopefully I won't face such issues again

Well, I've downloaded both v3.65 .zip files (XXLSA and XXLS7) and tried flashing them through CWM which was already on the device.
After rebooting either, it goes into a black screen after the initial boot screen (Galaxy Note GT-N7000).
Bear in mind I had already flashed Hydracore before that...
Any helpers as to what I'm doing wrong?
Should I reflash the stock ROM via PC Odin then flash Philz kernel via stock recovery?
Thanks in advance
P.S. I know I messed up big time
As what my friend nokia said. Hydracore is not compatible with jb leaks rom.
I m not so sure which kernel u r now, since u stuck at boot logo.
And I don't want to decide too fast that u have bricked ur phone.
Just try to flash the firmware again through odin. If u can, and can boot up, try to flash philz kernel from stock recovery.

That's what I'm thinking and doing now, wish me luck
I've also downloaded xxlsa to have 4.1.2 .. according to online tutorials I should flash cf-root via odin, then flash the rom via CWM .. any thoughts?
[Update - 1] phone is ok, re-flashed the stock firmware via PC Odin and it is working now, no problem! tried flashing cf-root, got stuck at the yellow triangle screen and nothing happens ... so I reflashed the stock rom again.
will try now to flash cf-root then boot into recovery, i just might be lucky
[Update - 2] upgraded to JB 4.1.2 successfully and rooted!
So which kernel are you using? and which Jelly bean?
Today I got the 4.1.2 ROM from SAMMOBILE at: http://www.sammobile.com/2012/11/28/n7000xxlsa-–-galaxy-note-android-4-1-2-jelly-bean-test-firmware/
As usual I used Odin 3 to flash the files and everything went fine, however I was convinced I would lost the Root, and so did I... I tried installing the Philz's safe Kernel I had for 4.1.1 N7000XXLS2 but after that when rebooting there is no Samsung logo anymore and the phone never boots up.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated!
Lucky for you...
I tried download that firmware, but the file hosting is always stop when i reach about 600 to 800 MB...
Hope there are someone upload that firmware in to another 'friendly' file hosting...
I am so excited about this firmware coz here, in indonesia will takes a very long time to get the firmware update...
I really want to try it to my note...

Use the xxlsa kernel not the xxls2 one
---------- Post added at 02:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:23 AM ----------
If you can't get into recovery, flash the firmware again using odin and then do the procedure again using zip file xxlsa philz kernel.
Rooting N7000XXLSA (4.1.2)
I installed the ROM over my stock ICS 4.0.4 N7000ODDLR4 usin PC Odin 3.
An advice I can give is, after and before installation, always do a factory reset from recovery mode! Otherwise I myself and lot of others had experienced some bugs due on data from previous OS files.
For rooting, I loaded Clockwork Recovery Mod 6.0.1.2 and used SuperSU from Chainfire to gain root access. No mishap for me, as I didnt get any trouble loading to 'recovery mode'
Now the JB 4.1.2 on my Note N7000 is rooted and open for me!!
Hope this helps somewhat.
P.S. the SuperUser which I used to root 4.0.4 didnt work on this 4.1.2
And I 'didnt' do any kernal change as I have no idea how to do what with kernal, except its use.

Go to recovery and do a factory reset and reboot. If that don't work u ve to be more specific about what custom rom u are on and what stock are u on
I can't go to recovery mod only on downloading mod N7000DDLSC_N7000ODDLSC_N7000DDLS6_HOME.tar.md5 this is the firmware i'm using via odin
and I used custom rom jellybam 8.0 .
This is the JB boot loop bug, just install the stock JB for your region and then flash the PhilZ kernel, you can find it in the original Android development forum. And after flashing the PhilZ kernel you're ready to go...hit thanks if i helped.

I recently use my old GT-N7000 back (stock Android 4.0.4 ICS). I rooted the phone and installed CWM 6.0.1.4 via odin. After that i tried to flash KitKat ROM but failed - i found out that this was because of my CWM obsolete (based on ics) and incapable to flash KitKat ROM.
I tried to flash an updated recovery via odin but failed. Now i'm stuck with boot logo and only able to open recovery mode and download mode. I don't think this is eMMC bug (right?)
Is it the reason odin unable to flash new CWM is because my kernel is still based 4.0.4? and any other way for me to get out of this bootloop?

What "updated' vers of CWM r u referring to? CWM? TWRP? Phils?
All KK Roms need at least 6.0.4.5+ to flash. There's a sticky guide here that guides u step by step. Did you read this?
