After a few quick searches found these:
Code:
[URL="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.firezenk.wakeall&hl=en"]Play Store App[/URL] (some reviews aren't that good but its free so you might aswell try)
and
Code:
[URL="http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-galaxy-nexus/189109-enable-volume-rockers-buttons-wake-phone.html"]A forum post about galaxy nexus[/URL] (don't use this unless you're certain it will work with your phone as its made for a different phone, wait for one of the devs to comment about it)

he wrote : I don't want to root it..
both needs root permission.
before that wakeup no matter if it is an app or what it needs to edit some system files , and if you are not rooted it aint gonna happens

[P] Lock/Touchscreen problems

Hi Guys,
i have a problem with my touch/lockscreen. If my device is locked and i wake it up with the power button, i can't unlock it. I take the Ring and want to pull it up but it just wobble a short time. I cant pull it. The same with MIUI ROM (Used VirtousRom ago). I installed MIUI Rom and after this, the tiamat kernel, but no solution.
Sometime it works, sometime it doen't. I have to lock the screen and unlock lock the screen and unlock again. After some tries, it works. Don't know this really annoying problem.
Is it a hardware- or a softwareissue? anybody know this problem?
I get this issue some times. I just lock the screen and wake it up again and normally this solves the issue.

This problem started to annoying 3 weeks ago. In past i never got this problem, i don't know
Do you have Dev tools app on your phone? You can check screens touch by using Pointer location.
will try it !
How can i get this development tools? I found the google article with Android SDK. I installed the SDK and configuried my variable (path). The cmd found adb as a command.
adb devices found my htc mobile, too.
But there is no development.apk?
Don't set your off screen governor to conservative. It might help if u set it to interactive instead

[ROM]Incredible Smoke

Right! I've just ported the blindndumb rom Blind Smoke (Mooke OS) to the IncS and have been testing it for the last couple of days - works almost perfectly! (the only thing out if the button backlights - any help would be greatly appreciated!)
Credit where it's due:
I done very little work on this and really the credit has to go to szezso (for the 'Incredible v1.0' rom - the base for my port and a beautiful job all by itself (that in turn was based on CyanogenMod 7.2 rc2, so big hugs there too)) and to blindndumb for the Blind Smoke rom.
Oh also, the guys behind the kitchen. Totally awesome work and makes it a pleasure to port stuff!
Anyway, without further ado... Incredible Smoke!
http://www.mediafire.com/?6obt7c7i7mlw884
I'll try to do screen shots soon but a quick flick over to blindndumb's site has some good shots already (click here). It is a beautiful rom and has a load of really nice features. My new favourite!
Oh, and for the button lights there's this:
Download the attached zip (backligh_files.zip - credit to kimifan316 for the files!)
Install a terminal emulator from the play store.
Next, copy the files in the zip to system\etc
Now, go change the properties on both the files to include execute (in esfile explorer this is done via long press, properties, change then tick execute for all users).
Now launch your terminal app.
in here type:
cd system
cd etc
su
sh bklights_init.sh
This is only temporary until someone can help me fix it properly
Here's the video can't seem to embed it here somebody help

Install the superuser app and all should be well.
I have to say that the rom looks really nice and also very smooth.
I only can't manage to copy the files in the zip file to /system/etc.
When I do that I get a message that it has failed to copy.
It looks like I don't have the persmission to do that.
Does anyone know how to copy these files to /system/etc?
Good point about installing superuser - I forgot to mention it in the post. I'm still quite new at this but I'll try and stick superuser in by default with the next version...
Looks good , How about the battery life ?
Maestro, ensure you have installed superuser for root access and enabled writing to system. In es file explorer this is done by hitting settings, scrolling to the bottom, turning on root explorer and mount file system... Let me know if it still doesn't work.
thx a lot! it helped. I wasn't aware of the settings in es file explorer.
So the lights do work now.
Only thing I experience is a kind of a delay when light turn off and on. So when turning off the screen the buttons stay on for a few seconds and then turn off. Also when turning on the screen again the buttons will turn on after a few seconds. But the behaviour is not always the same.
But it's not a big deal cause they do work! I just wanted to share.
Thx again!
Does this rom support wifi hotspot?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
Battery life seems pretty good to me I easily get through a day with quite a bit of juice remaining...
Wifi hotshot and tethering are supported but I don't use either so can't vouch for their performance...
Decent rom fast and stable!! Check out the video in second post!! Only of there were enough themes to mess with and my device is showing desire s!! Please fix that!! And a few other places where language is still Chinese!!

Nice video, thanks for doing that
I'll work on the bugs you pointed out there but I'm still wet behind the ears with android development so don't expect miracles...
Just so you know the flashlight does work just not from that button. Install one from the market and it's ok...
Thanks for porting it over man! Definitely nice to see new rooms being posted here, keeps me loving this phone will try it out later and get back on how it goes

Fix for product name
I have created flashable zip to fix product name.
hope you dont mind. good work wish you the best with the rom
Edit: Let me know how it works
Cool, thanks for that. I've sorted out the naming bits in the next release but I'm still working on the backlights before I upload it. Also think I have the su access in there by default now too... Hopefully be able to upload soon.
when trying to copy to system\etc folder the es file explorer says copy failed what am i doing wrong
also am i supposed to unzip the zip file?
See this one for how to write to system/etc: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26513213&postcount=9
And yes, it needs to be unzipped.

[Q] Any tweaks for skipping tracks with the volume keys?

I'd rather not use the double tap apps in the Play Store, they don't seem to work. I really miss this feature from AOSP roms.
I'm looking for a tweak like this also. I've read an article and it said "many" ROMs have this feature, only reason I wanted to root and flash this thing, but is this not the case anymore?

i know custom sense roms have volume skip and pause
all custom roms or certain ones? Is it a mod? Or built into the rom? Where's the option for it?
I'm asking because I flashed a custom sense rom already (trickdroid) and have no idea how to turn this on.
I think it's on by default as long as screen is off long press vol up skips forward and long press vol down for play/pause

you can install this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629653
you need root tho
renovate rom has it included
So no chance for volume track control with no root/custom ROM?
All you have to do is use the old HTC headphones which had a track next/previous button as well as the connect/disconnect button. I used my old headphones from my Desire HD and it works grand. I think you can still get the headphones from various sites on the internet.
You can use the headset you got with the phone and use a app that recognize how many press. Like 2 for next track 3 for previous etc
Here's one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.jays.headsetcontrol

It doesnt work on ONE
No button apps work for now with the One ... also modding for it to work causes Wakelocks and battery drain ... its not a perfect solution
I have written about this to HTC so many times that I almost was about to abuse them in last email .. Its just plain out ridiculous ... if you are selling this as a media powerhouse, this is one of the basic functions alongwith volume keys on the headset !

How to change HTC One M7 Lock and Unlock sounds

Hi everyone,
I have done some Google searching into this and so far have found nothing. I have searched this forum and have also not brought back any results (I use my mobile mostly and the search feature on the app doesn't seem to bring back many relevant results)
I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41475588
So I'm wondering if it's just a case of changing the sound file name to lock/unlock.ogg and replacing the current files.
Is that the case or is there more to it than that?
Also when I do try to change the files (as the thread posted says) I do not have permissions. I'm going to look into the permissions but my main question is about changing the lock/unlock sounds.
Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this.

Open your custom ROM or use a file explorer on your installed ROM, go to : system/media/audio/ui and change the relevant sounds ... I swapped out virtually everything from a Sense based ROM and used sounds from a GE ROM and everything works fine. There is no need to do anything else but replace the files, file for file so to speak.
I'll give it a go, are the files easy to find on here or do they take a little more searching?

Changing lock screen sounds for non rooted /stock roms for HTC One.
Hi there.
If anyone is still interested, I just found another way to change the lock/unlock screen sounds for non-rooted HTC ONEs. (I have the chinese version dual sim 802w)
Download the Lock Screen Sounds app free (also known as noisylock'd) and select an mp3 file from either your music file, ringtone or notification folder.
Now, for me, I've had a HTC desire z for the last 3 years and I absolutely adore it and I really liked the lock & unlock screen sound on it. So using the file manager,
1) From my HTC desire z, I copied the lock/unlock.ogg files from the systems folder and paste it in my media folder on the sd card.
2) Dragged it onto my pc and converted it into mp3 files online> media.io (found this site extremely straight forward and easy to use)
3) On my HTC One, I copied/dragged the saved mp3s onto internal storage>media or notification folder. (can save on external sd card too)
4) Tap on the app which now says noisylock'd and switch it on.
5) Tap on the first selection for unlock sound and navigate to where your mp3 file is and select it. Then tick the box to the left to activate.
6) Do the same for the third selection which is for the lock screen. (For some reason the middle selection wouldn't work).
This didn't work straight away and was abit fiddly when I tried to press to select the file. I also had to restart/switch off a few times before it finally worked properly. Now I have the same lock/unlock sound as my beloved, almost retired htc desire z hehehe...oh, and it's louder than the original stock sound.
On a different subject, I have a spare htc desire z on android 2.1 or 2.2 which I would like to upgrade to 2.3.3.
I want to attempt my first rooting of a phone so if anyone would be so kind to point me to the right forum link or have a beginners guide specifically for the htc desire Z? This spare one is a bit dodgy, think it's a software problem but thought I could try experimenting with it so even if it bricks, I won't be so upset Thanks in advance.

[Q] Few issues with ROM[4.1.2] Simplicity I

Hello,im newbie here, yesterday i did backup all my data, then i manage to unlock and root my HTC Desire C (walk in the park). I am very newbie with smart phones, android.
I found that guide, [How To][For Newbs] Unlock/Root/Recovery/Nameless ROM v7 (and SIM Unlock!) Desire C ,by AirCombat.
And finally i was rdy to install my 1st ROM on my HTC.Instead of Namaless ROM v7, i did dl that one : [ROM][4.1.2] Simplicity I (Simple,Smooth,Fast).
And 1st problem ...i did not find : boot.img ,so i dl Prometheus kernel boot.img.
I Did everything as AirCombat says in his guide....
boot.img was inside C:\Android ,ROM][4.1.2] Simplicity I inside phone SD card.Cold reboot, then bootloader mode/fastboot.Then , i open CMD and enter fastboot flash boot boot.img.By mistake i press only reboot, and i the startup screen stuck.Desided to remove the battery off (2 times).
So,that was my 1st mistake,because im noob.
At least the boot menu was fine, was able to enter there (didn't know what to do ) and try to hit factory Wipe,Wipe by cache, but nothing. The startup screen did nothing.
So i follow new guide from aashay960 : Cache, factory Wipe, then Flash ROM.After that i did not find the shut down button, and i pressed the power button ,bit longer, until restart...Then ,boot menu to bootloadeder. Finally i manage to exit the boot menu, and i saw the Google logo. After 3-5 mins the system came alive.Jelly stuff, finally yea.
Rebooted again, bootloader, flash google apps, reboot ,etc. And i did it.Now i have working phone.
But i need to ask how to fix 3 things:
1st most important : My camera app doesnt want change resolution ,it stuck on 3 MP, we all know Desire c 5 MP.So i install 1 new app : com.google.android.gallery3d.apk.Far better than prev. but still cant use 5 MP.
2nd. How to delete contacts ,i hold the menu key but nothing.
3.What is that white bar ,i cant remove it (screen shot below) ...
Also where is refresh page on internet.
cheers
For camera get a custom camera app from play store, for contacts open the contact, pies menu key then delete might have to go on edit then delete. Don't know about white bar. Have you tried restarting. Change wallpaper?

Go top sound on settings and there you can turn off vibration regarding camera which one did you install? If it looks like the one you already have it'll still be 3mp for some reason apart from one which was £1.27

It is a good camera, you can get very decent pictures and I agree you want to be able to use the camera at its highest resolution.
Phone works fine.Battery : 4 days ,12 hrs - 20%
using WI Fi (not turned off) 2-3 times per day.Few phone calls.5-6 apps like FB,google store hibernated, and screen is on 10 or 20 %.
