(BUYERS BEWARE) Stolen Nexus, UPS delivered phone on front porch! - Nexus 4 General

I ordered the Nexus 4 10 days or so ago for my wife for Christmas and i finally got the email that it was shipped yesterday.
To my surprise and stupidity at the same time, i didnt realize that i should have called UPS and have them hold the item for me. Instead it was delivered at my house without anyone being there!
Next thing you know i get home and the phone is gone and a yellow pages book was on my porch.
I checked the tracking and to my surprise it said Delivered: Front porch.
Now i ask, shouldn't there be a signature confirmation on an expensive item like this and why did the damn UPS delivery guy dropped it at my porch instead of leaving a door tag.
The good thing is that i called Google right away and they will issue a refund and they are disabling the phone.
What sucks the most though is that it was suppose to be a gift
Just thought i vent and give you guys a warning so you dont repeat my mistake.

Mine required a signature when they delivered it.

There was no signature needed for mine either, just left on my porch, but I was home and heard the storm door open.

Did you mean Nexus 4? Yeah..makes me a bit frazzled they leave $$$ stuff like this 'unprotected'. One of the reasons I love Amazon, they always make good on 'stolen' deliveries. :|

That sucks man ;(. Good thing Google is issuing a refund!

They asked for my signature when it got here. Hmmm

Sorry to hear about yr lost...
My UPS guy did ask for my signature

That sucks. That sucks. In my case, someone is usually around to pick it up when they leave it on the porch. My concern is the UPS guy trying to get a signature and no one at home can hear the door bell, leaving me to wait the next day or have to go to the depot later in the evening.
An AmazonLocker type arrangement is the best for those us without a front desk to take packages. In some areas the USPS has a similar locker in testing called GoPost and they now accept UPS packages; but I wouldn't know what to do if the package actually required a signature or some other snafu were to happen, so I haven't try it.
I hope you can get some recourse or compensation for the loss!

Bummer. My condolences. I dont see how other buyers can learn from this though....not much we can do differently. Either way, for this reason, google agrees to cover the cost of a replacement phone, and they fight it out with courier. Was same with nexus 7 shipping.

I was amazed when UPS left 2 different deliveries of N4's on my front porch plus a N7 all at different times without a door tag or sig. First time I've had an electronics delivery over 100.00 that was just left there like they did.. They really should require a sig or something.. Sorry to hear that happened to you.. I hope you go after the YP delivery people and get someone busted.

Its the drivers discretion to leave the package or leave a slip
I always stick a note on my door to call me before leaving the package at the door

Are you sure it was delivered to the right house? It's holiday time and there are a lot of temp drivers or drivers on new routes. I had this happen a few years ago and it turned out the new driver brought it to the wrong house. I actually stopped a UPS driver from bringing my S3 to a wrong house as well, luckily I went home on lunch and saw him walk with a box to my neighbors. I was like ***** that looks like mine! It was!!!!

Man, that sucks.
In the UK, we don't really have this culture of 'leaving it on the front porch'. Royal Mail, UPS etc either hold it and you collect it, organise a redelivery, or put it a safe, locked and secure place (if you organise one with the delivery man/company beforehand).
Hope you can get Google to send you another!

Same experience on Nexus 7

I have same experience for Nexus 7 8GB in July. I am just lucky to trace the delivery and call my friend to ask her to test the tablet for me but she said she did not receive the tablet. She run downstair and find my Nexus 7 is on door porch too. UPS guy did not do any call my friend. This is very poor service of UPS.

Make sure someone is at the delivery address on the day that the package is arriving. If no one can call them up and tell them to hold the package till another day or change the delivery address to where someone can receive it (if they let you do that).

Hmm mines require a signature. If no one is home, then they leave a notice. Different policies based on where you live.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium

Not true I live in U.k I have had stuff left in my recycling box out front.

If you sign up for UPS MyChoice you are able to leave special instructions for the driver. They have no clue what they are delivering, nor it's value and it's sad that they use their own discretion to leave it or not. I live in a large apartment complex and have seen packages just left at peoples doors, where anyone could just walk by and pick it up.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium

I was required to sign, too. Actually, they didn't even ring the intercom, and just left the note. Called UPS and made them come back with my N4 xD

People must not order many things online, that is how UPS/Fedex works, it is up to the driver to deem your neighborhood safe enough to leave packages at the door.
Signature confirmation is an extra charge and Ive never ordered anything that had it, because its a bad idea, packages are delivered when most people are at work so things will get returned all the time as undeliverable. The only ones who do that are ebay sellers to protect themselves, not you.

Your worst recent experience at Wal-Mart

/Rant
I generally avoid Wal-Mart like The Plague. I know that I can always expect to see disgruntled employees who generally give two craps less about me than I do about them. I also know that I will find 50 registers and only 6 of them open at any given time. I also know that the other patrons of the store are going to be more embarrassing to me as a member of this species than to themselves.
Knowing all of this in advance, I decided that I could avoid the interactions and have a simple in-and-out experience by purchasing my item online and simply picking it up at the store. I made sure to purchase it at noon today so that when I finished working, I could just swing by, pick up my stuff and leave. Six hours is plenty of time to fill a single item order.
I received a confirmation e-mail saying my item was ready for pickup at four o'clock. I finished up work around five thirty and headed over there. I got to the store and went to customer service at about five forty-five. I stood in line waiting for someone, anyone, to show up to man the CS counter. After waiting for ten more minutes and having two other associates page for help, I began to think that this was not going to be the simple journey I had imagined.
A CS rep finally showed up and "helped" the two people in front of me. She then picked up the phone that had been ringing since before I was in the line and proceeded to have a long conversation with someone who didn't seem to want to make a trip to the store to process a refund. I imagine she wanted Wal-Mart to mail her the cash, but that's just me.
Finally she turned her attention my way and told me that I was in the wrong department. I had to go to the back of the store to pick up my order. Fine. Whatever. I just want my stuff, so I can leave.
I went all the way to the back of the store to the pick up counter, which, of course, was not manned. I wandered around and found someone who kindly paged someone to help me. I sat and waited for ten minutes before getting up and finding someone else. This happened twice more before a manager finally showed up and told me that the pick up counter was closed. I showed him my e-mail confirmation which expressly said I had until ten o'clock that evening to pick up my crap. I also informed him that I had already been waiting 45 minutes for someone to help me.
As it turns out, the girl who was supposed to be at the counter was simply on her break. She finally got around to helping me, and said that the order had not yet been picked. I asked her why they sent me an e-mail saying it was ready. She wasn't sure, but vowed to find out. I sighed at that and asked if I could just go grab it off of the shelf myself. Electronics was thirty feet from where I was standing. She said that if I pulled it off of the shelf myself, I would have to purchase it separately. What the F*** ever.
She consulted with some other girl who showed up to join the discussion. I paced to show my frustration. It was now approaching seven o'clock. They disappeared into the warehouse to find my item as though it were some magical artifact on some RPG quest.
At seven twenty-five in the evening - one hour and forty minutes after I showed up at the store - the girls reemerged and produced the item I ordered. I waited for them to finish logging it out of the system, grabbed it, and left without any further words to them.
Total time from parking to leaving - 1 hour, fifty minutes.
Abridged version
I bought something on Walmart.com to pick up at the store. They sent me an e-mail saying it was ready. I went to pick it up, but it wasn't ready. I waited while several incompetent employees tried to sort out the mess. It took almost two hours to park, get my stuff, and leave.
Please share your thoughts.
For those unfamiliar:
Walmart is a national chain supermarket. They are famous for having everything you need from birth to death, but no employees competent enough to help you make a purchase.
Once I went to walmart and then I walked back out...the end!
Also Walmart is notorious for having unmanned departments...I hardly ever shop there.

I've been to Walmart once, in Mississauga, That's in Ontario...Canada...I live in New York. Yep, no wall marts here in the city. And I only went into that walmart to buy a redbull.
I work across the street from one and had my usual split shift, being bored as $hit I took it upon myself to sit infront of the store and record the amount of overweight customers visiting the store. I sat there for an hour and a half drinking malt whisky out of a travel mug counting the scum of the neighbourhood. There were hundreds of ticks on my notepad in that time and I believe the end result was the majority of the patrons were between the ages of 40 and 55 and of them 80% were what I would call overweight. I even made a graph to hang up in my locker to remind myself what I would become if I fell for everyday low prices on high fat foods. Of all the age groups I counted 78% were overweight and out of the hundreds of people I saw there was only one 10/10 and she was walking out of the store with a large amount of toilet paper. :|

I've learned to pay for everything at the cs desk.
I like Walmart got everything i need in one spot, plus there prices are fair. Poor customer service at times but i figure stuff out on my own anyways. I got my phone new and two weeks early before release date for 99 dollars with upgrade. Tmobile store wanted 299. sooooo until Tmobile site match those prices Walmart well be my go too source.

I must be super lucky. The WalMart in my town always has manned stations, accepts returns within a month no matter the condition, but employees have no idea about anything in the store except where it is, yet they're nice people HEB is even awesomer, so many free samples. You don't even have to buy anything, and you could've consumed a meal, and I know so many people that work there ^_^ Sadly, besides my small part of town, Walmart, HEB, the movies, the square, the lake beach and some other places are considered the centers of the town and people say it's boring :/ I'm content with all of that o: I think that's alot!
PS, I only order online with Amazon.

Had three small items at checkout, and wanted separate bags, because one was a food product, one was a cleaning product, and one was a toiletry product that leaks sometimes.
"Oh, I'm not allowed to give you 3 separate bags"
If I hadn't paid with a credit card (she could have looked up who I was after I left) I would have called over a manager and made a big stink about her being rude.
Wally World really has gone ghetto big time.

You could get your phones new on Amazon for $50 with a contract upgrade. Most of them are $0.01 for new plans.

Wow. That's not only rude, but also unhealthy. You can't combine those items in a bag. My first job was at a Winn-Dixie when I was 15. That was back when you could still get a job at 15, so I guess I'm showing my age a bit here...
We weren't allowed to put different items in the same bag like that. It didn't matter if it took one bag per item. You just can't put ammonia with bread.... idiots....
never experienced any problems.... maybe because ive never been to wal-mart
Not to offend anyone, but I worked at Walmart off and on, usually during the holidays for extra cash. Walmart is all about political correctness and empowering women in management positions, and well, you all see the end result of that business model. A lot of their policies and way of doing things is very counter productive in a business. Ask any employee to best explain how Walmart operates, to sum it up in one word.....clusterfuck.
Making fun of ppl in walmart is fun.

Nexus7 attempted delivery without notification.

Never got an email telling me mine had shipped, but got a TNT card through the door from Computer 2000 today.
I can't pick it up from my "local" depot thats a 110mile trip, and I can't get it redelivered elsewhere as it's not allowed, and I'm not not taking time of work to wait for it.
So it looks like it's time to reject it under DSR and buy one from Tesco.
Google have REALLY screwed this up. I don't know who Computer 2000 are, but they are incompetent buffoons. It doesn't help that the delivery network in the UK is rubbish.

I don't know about TNT, but with UPS in the US, you can leave a note on your door asking them to leave it and that will count as your signature.
Not I am the UK unfortunately. However thankfully my TNT driver wasn't a jobsworth and I now have my nexus7. REALLY IMPRESSED.

Wait...what?
No offense, but you scheduled delivery to a place that you would not be at, and you expect them to do what, exactly? I've *never* met a distributer/shipping service that allowed you to change the delivery location once it was en route...it's a security issue. Anyone could call and give the shipping information and have it shipped to their own residence...shipping information that could be gleaned from a quick glance at a monitor. Are you mad that they required someone to be there to pick it up?
Is this the first time you've run into a problem like this? I would think anytime you've ever shipped *anything* that required a signature this problem would be run into. I'm not sure how this "problem" can be attributed to Google or "Computer 2000". Seems like more of a problem in you not getting what you want, despite the established shipping procedures.

Why I'm never buying anything from Tesco Direct again

23/07: It was night time and I'd saved up the money to buy myself a Nexus 7. Great. I ordered my Nexus 7 16GB from the Tesco Direct website and set it to collect at the store for the 25th.
25/07: I collect my Nexus 7 and everything seems to be fine. At night, I realised that I had the screen separation issue and I decided I'd call Tesco the next morning.
26/07: The guy on the other end of the phone was helpful and said that I would have a replacement Nexus 7 the next day and all I had to do was wait for the Tesco delivery man to arrive and we'd trade at the door. (Lie 1)
27/07: I wasn't home so my mum gives the delivery man the defective Nexus 7 to the delivery guy who said that his colleague would come around with the replacement soon. (Lie 2)
I came home and knew that something was wrong so I called up Tesco who told me that it was never loaded into the lorry (Lie 3) but they'd call me back soon. Half an hour later, I get a call saying that it was a driver error and "it will be with me any minute now". (Lie 4) Yeah right.
28/07: The Nexus 7 still hasn't arrived so I call up Tesco and they told me that the Nexus 7 was never loaded onto the lorry. What a bunch of crap. So they've got my money and my Nexus 7 but tell me that they don't know when I'd be getting my Nexus 7. It could be next week for all they know. So I arrange a refund which will process on Wednesday at the earliest, then I'll purchase the Nexus 7 elsewhere.
Anyone in the UK who's reading this, don't be afraid to buy a Nexus 7 from Tesco but make sure you collect it from their store and not at your house. The delivery company are a joke, the aftersales service was pretty crap. Overall, my advice is to get your Nexus 7 from CPW.
You were just stitched up by the courier. Not Tesco Direct's doing there.
I had two replacements sent out by Tesco Direct , both swapped at the door without any hassle.
My third one is a keeper.

But Tesco chose those guys for delivery. Why couldn't they just deliver it themselves? Or hire a company that's a little better.
Most stores are not in the delivery business... they use delivery companies to do that. As to choice, they may not have a choice that works for the price they sold you the product for.
Seems like you got unlucky. I asked for a replacement from Tesco & the guy came and delivered my second one but didn't take away the first. I've had to arrange for that to be picked up again (supposedly yesterday) & again it didn't get picked up. Useless courier they use!
Sadly the second one still has issues so I'm thinking I'll just take them both back into a store & demand a refund.

Ditto apart from the second defective unit.
Courier (Yodel) didn't have an RMA label so he left the new one and agreed that I'd re-arrange collection.
Was just going to take it away, like, no.
I also had a late delivery for the replacement as the order was put through after 3pm which is the next day cut off point.
Replacement unit seems ok but Tesco have a 28 day no quibble returns policy.

10 days actually on kit with memory in. For reasons that I cannot fathom....
Tesco are indeed useless.
I bought one which had screen lift.
Tried to take it back to the store I got it from but they would not accept a return as they did not have a Tesco Direct desk.
Sent me physically to a store with a Tesco Direct Desk.
They would not accept a return because it was not from their store.
They arranged a courier to pick up from my house... or didn't because the courier was not booked.
I called again and booked a courier - who did not turn up.
I called again and booked another courier - who also did not turn up.
I phoned them and they said my options were a store of a courier ... but neither are viable.
Total nightmare to deal with. Never again.

The returns part ... is nothing to do with the tech.... it could have been a sofa or a bicycle. The subtle nuances of the technology were nothing to do with the fact that the couriers do not turn up.
Oh and I think Tesco CS also tell porkies. Because they told me that they had done something that was flatly contradicted by another Tesco employee.

If Tesco Direct place an item onto the delivery system after 3pm then next day becomes the day after because even at 1 minute after 3pm it is past the cut off for next day delivery.
It's called a cut off point for a reason.
That said, the people working the phones at Tesco Direct ought to a) know this and b) ought to explain explain this to the customers.
They also ought to issue a tracking number without being asked for one.
They don't do that because when you ring up to ask WTF is my item you dial an 0845 number and Tesco gets a slice of the revenue.
Every Little Helps, right ?
So, to recap: Order in the am, not the pm, ask for a tracking number to ensure that it's been entered onto the system.
When returning an item you have to label it up, Yodel don't have return shipping stickers.
The whole process is disjointed as fook but their returns policy is quite good and they have stock.

LOST / STOLEN Nexus 5 By UPS

I've been tracking my Nexus 5 for delivery today. And at 3:32pm it was delivered to my home and left at the front door.
At 3:45pm (there's a delay till it shows up on the website) I noticed it was delivered and called home.
Person at home was home since 1pm and I asked them to check the front door, nothing is there, checked the mailbox, nothing is there. Looked around the house, nothing is there!
When I got home, I checked my neighbors, nope, nothing there either
IT'S FREAKING NOT THERE.
I call UPS, they said to call the shipper to initiate investigation.
I asked if they can call the local warehouse to contact the driver, nope can't do that, gotta have the shipper initiate investigation (they used to do this a long time ago).
I call Google and they're forwarding it to Lost / Stolen department. They will investigate and if they find it lost they will disable the device/IMEI and issue me a refund.
No idea how long this will take, when I'll get my money back, and when I'll be able to order another one! It's out of stock for a freaking month!
I'm so pissed. I freaking hate UPS. This isn't the first time they've lost my packages, and hell, I've received other people's packages too from several houses down!
/rant
Update Day 2: Nothing new other than Google confirming the investigation.
It didn't show up magically the next day like others have had happen, but I did order a case for it from Amazon and it shipped 2 Day UPS and it arrived today just fine. Unfortunately I wasn't hope to talk to the driver.
Thought I'd post some screenshots of the emails I've received from Google (POST #47: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47167296&postcount=47 )
UPDATE 3: Yesterday I put in an order on the Play Store for another Nexus 5, it says 2-3 weeks and today I got shipping confirmation. Maybe the person investigating my case put it through faster?
Shrug, anyways I have this one being shipped to my work.
Still no more word from Google about the investigation yet, hopefully I get a refund.
UPDATE 4: UPDATE: My dad just texted me saying a package from Kentucky arrived early this morning. 3 days after the day it was supposed to be delivered. Tracking info still showed Monday as the delivery date.
I don't know the condition of the package if it was opened or relabled or anything. Will update once I go pick it up.
FINAL UPDATE 5!!!!!!
So, like I said previously, my dad told me when he left this morning at 8:15am for work, this package was magically on the front door.
I came and got it from him and check this out:
The original brown shipping box IS NOT SEALED, there is NO tape securing the box!
I just got my 2nd Nexus 5 delivered to my work today and it definitely has a tape that seals the brown shipping box.
So then I open the brown shipping box and the Nexus 5 box and my receipt is there, I slide open the Nexus 5 box sleeve and look at the white box the phone is in.
I flip it over and the 2 white tape that keeps it closed IS PEELED OFF AND PUT BACK ON! UPS person DEFINITELY opened it up and thought it was a quick score, then maybe someone investigated and he delivered it early in the morning!
The phone looks ok, the original screen protector is still on there and doesn't look molested.
Doesn't matter, I'm going to call Google and return this one, since I the 2nd one I ordered came to work and I've already set that one up.
Crazy few days here and yep, I still hate UPS.

Wow that sucks
I think another guy had his package stolen as well. I guess that's an advantage of living in apartments. There's always someone to sign and keep your packages.
It could have been delivered to someplace other than your immediate neighbors.
I just moved into this house a year ago on the North end of a street and all of my FedEx packages for the first 2-3 months went to the South end of the same street, to the same house number.
Thankfully that neighbor was kind enough to bring them to us - but the point is, who knows. **** happens. You have no way of knowing if UPS is "stealing" your phone.

UPS isn't "stealing" it. Another user on here had his package actually stolen by someone since Google is being cheap and doesn't require a signature.
Lesson learned. Good reason to always ship to work or a mail box at a ups store

I was required to sign for my package.
I hope I have to sign for my package also. And I live in SoCal myself..Specifically San Diego. But it's just sad that people have to do this all to others. Hopefully Google can send you out a replacement device ASAP, if not, the refund.
maybe the person who u live with is hiding it from u
and this is why I pick up expensive packages at the UPS sorting facility downtown
Sorry to hear about your loss nxt Hopefully everything will work out.

I did the same thing:
"As requested, the receiver will pickup at a UPS facility at their convenience. This must be within 5 business days."
Some times they leave them in our garage. Fooled me at least once.
UPS has done this exact same thing to me before but delivered it the next day. So even though it showed delivered at my front door the UPS guy showed up the next day with the package.
Not sure how often this happens but it may be a possibility for you.
This sucks, but is also why I have everything important delivered to my job.
UPS is the only company I know that will leave an item regardless of value or size anywhere.

Depends on the apartment. UPS often parks on the other side of the street of my apartment, waits there a few min. They then update the delivery saying no one was home and then drive off. Hopefully this doesn't happen tomorrow when my phone is supposed to come. It's really annoying.
Lol i have shipped with usps and they stole like 3 packages from me ... after i left the store no further status came up on them they were cell phones i sold on ebay.
So i left an active wireless cam inside to ship i told them specifically to be careful because the package inside was very expensive.
They opened it .... had a battery pack inside and saw all there faces from my car ... recorded. reported, they all got fired. still lost 3 packages.
UPS ran to my front door, put it on the steps, and hit the doorbell and left...luckily I planned to camp the front door all day waiting for them ::silly:
Lost
Same thing happened to me, UPS says the delivered my nexus 5, however no nexus 5 ever was placed on my front door step. I had been waiting all day, never left the house. The worst part is Google says they will blacklist the device then eventually issue me a refund. I have to go through the process and reorder through the play store and wait the 4-6 weeks.

The guy even asked what my last name was.
If google wants they can find who has it because it has the imei number and whoever will use it will have to sign in with gmail account.

My Nexus 5 stolen by UPS

Ordered a Nexus 5 on Oct 31st and tracking showed it was out for delivery today. Could not wait to get it! At 6:15 pm there was a knock on the door and when I opened the door I saw the UPS driver walking back to his truck. I picked up the package and called "thank you" to the driver. Once inside I opened the brown shipping box and removed the inside retail Nexus 5 box. The retail box appeared to have some damage. The blue outer sleeve was torn back on one end and the end flaps of the inner white box were also torn. Inside the box was the documentation, wall charger, USB cord, and SIM removal tool, but the Nexus 5 phone was missing! I looked back at the brown outer shipping box and then could see that someone had torn the end flap on it as well. Once they had removed the Nexus 5 phone they used packing tape to seal the shipping box and that is how it was delivered this evening to me.
The worst part is that since I could see by the tracking info that the package was out for delivery today, I went ahead and listed my current phone on eBay with a buy it now price. I figured it would take a few days to sell, but no, it sold within a few hours. so now I must send off my current phone to the buyer who has already paid me and I have no new phone. Called Google and was told that they would open an investigation and would refund the full amount of my order, but that I would have to place a new order on the Play store if I wanted to replace the stolen Nexus 5. Of course the Play store is now out of stock and new orders are having to wait 3-4 weeks for it to ship.
Update:
I ordered my replacement Nexus 5 on Nov. 7th and this time selected 2 day shipping. Play Store said it would "leave the warehouse on Nov. 22". Got an email on Nov. 11th saying it had shipped and I received it on Tuesday the 12th. Using 2 day shipping the package did not go through the Vernon, CA hub as the one that was stolen did. I received a full refund from Google for the stolen phone 8 days after reporting it. It was a pain to have this happen, but all is good now and I am loving the Nexus 5!
That's terrible.. Same thing happen to me with USPS. Had to take a hit and yell Out screw you universe!!!

Wow thats horrible! In my opinion thats worst then them loosing your package! Like you know your all excited it finally arrived and you get ripped apart emotionally because your upset! Hopefully everything works out for you!
I am really sorry to hear that. Such a ****ty situation.
If it's any consolation, it does look like those ordering this week with "2-3 week" and "3-4 week" shipping are actually seeing their packages ship immediately. So turn around time will probably be quicker than you think. It all still sucks, nonetheless.
this is some upside-down bs right here.
sorry dude. you have the imei on the box. i wonder if anyone can see where that N5 (imei) activates and starts pinging...
After reporting the incident to Google, I was sent an email asking for my consent authorizing Google to remotely disable the device with the IMEI/SERIAL number of the phone that was shipped to me. Of course I replied yes!
Oh you too man! I feel your pain. Here is my post.
BTW you should have replied I CONSENT.

Well, at least that douche won't be able to use the phone now, just a small consolation, but I guess in a situation like this you have to take what you can get :-/
somehow they knew there was a phone in that box

It is the same box as Nexus4's was. And it also had the same address from Kentucky. It's not hard to guess what's inside...

No. Should I? This is the first time I get screwed. I doubt they can do anything. It's up to sender (Google) to open insurance claim and etc.

This and file a police report!
I once lost my video card "delivered." To date I haven't figured out who the thief is!
you serously didn't call UPS yet to report the driver? tell them the time of delivery they'll know exactly who was on shift
even if it wasnt the driver, you need to report this, this is UPS losing credibility, comeonnow
Exactly. The more time you wait the note it looks like something else happened. Also. In thinking those with stolen phone should send pics and your stories to android police blog and other blogs so not publicity can be made. If thief's know people are aware there is an issue they may not rus riskh it.
