Download the Philz kernel for xxls2 (zip file) and flash it from recovery and retest.
Also have you uninstalled and reinstalled supersu from play store.

Just flash Philz kernel xxls2 zip version from recovery

Bang. .

Open SuperSU, from settings choose (Reinstall)
Then reinstall SuperSU from play store and it should work fine once you update the binaries
Best of luck

Thanks for answering. Is the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3/4.0.4 Superuser Busybox the same as the Jelly bean?
Do I have the same steps to install binary as I do on my ICS 4.0.4?
In ICS I use CWM and then I install SU-busybox.Do I have to do the same?

You have to flash a zip version of philz kernel. It has busybox and su in it. tar version won't do the job

Download superSU from this link http://download.chainfire.eu/298/SuperSU/CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip?retrieve_file=1
-Reboot to recovery, flash zip. and reboot..
-open superSU and update binary if needed..

What shall I do now? How to get back root? Looks like CWM working now. Maybe I need to flash CF-root kernel from chainfire?

CWM version

i flashed to HydraCore_v3.5 and CWM version cannot be used. The titanium backup dont show any backed up apps. When i revert back to CWM version all were in place.Do i need t download the apps again 1 by 1.

Its not the cwm recovery, this message is for the cwm manager installed as app, it comes with cf root kernels. You can still use it but not fully functional. And you still have cwmr flashed by hydracore. Go to recovery mode manually or use this cwm manager to boot in recovery to confirm.
And did you earlier flash cf root kernel on CM rom?

As far as i know cf root kernels are for tw roms only. Now since you are on hydracore then you should have cwm recovery installed with it, did you check it? Just ignore cwm manager or remove it using titanium.
Sent from my GT-N7000
Rescan the backup folder of your titan backup
via GT-N7000 using XDA-Elite App
If one flash CF root kernel and later update to hydracore, kernel will replace but CWM remains still. Just delete it with titanium/Syst app remover or same other.

[Q] Downgrade CWM from 6.??? to 5.???

Hi
I updated CWM to 6.??? to try a KitKat ROM but I want to go back to a Gingerbread one. I don't know how to downgrade the CWM to 5. When I try and install a CWM 5 zip file via CWM it gives me lots of errors.
Is it possible to downgrade the CWM?
thanks
Paul
You can either flash stock rom via odin on comp and reroot, or download and install mobile odin ported to our device. And then flash the odin flashable cwm.tar file through mobile odin.

You cannot downgrade from android 4.x to android 2.x. That's because 4.0.4 and higher roms have a different bootloader. So don't try to flash gingerbread over kitkat, but if you tried and your phone didn't bricked let me know!!!

I know well what CWM stand for and what it is. I know he was asking how to downgrade from CWM 6 to CWM 5 but he was asking also for a downgrade from KitKat to Gingerbread. I just said that it could brick the phone.
For the CWM downgrade you must:
1) reboot in recovery mode
2) install the latest PX recovery for galaxy ace
3) reboot recovery
4) install CWM5
5) reboot recovery
6) done!

Actually downgrading from KitKat to Gingerbread will not brick the phone as long as you flash it through odin. Then again flashing any Gingerbread custom rom will not brick your phone as they are made to work only on CWM5. Hence flashing Gingerbread custom rom through CWM6 will only give you errors. Its always safe to install Gingerbread stock rom using odin. Here is the link on how to install stock rom using odin along with all firmwares and drivers (check "Preparations" section),
Flash stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 using odin/
Once installed, go to recoverymod and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace,
How To Root and Unroot Samsung Galaxy Ace?
CWM 5.0.2.6 fix for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830
Also if you still want to use KitKat, then you can use the KitKat version flashable through CWM5 by @Salim El Yabouri. Here is the link,

Hope I Helped

1. I proceeded as you said, to downgrade from 6.0.4.6 to 5.0.2.6.
It worked.
Thank you very much indeed.
2. Do you know if there is any 6.0.4.7 zip or 6.0.4.8 zip for s5830?
Mardon's 6.0.5.3_1

Well i mentioned it earlier in a post but still instead of upgrading to 6.0.4.7 mardon's new recovery has more feastures: Check this link.
But I recommend 5.0.2.6 as it can flash almost all zips without any problem whatsoever.
As written on mardon's page that 6.0.5.3_1 was ported to Ace for flashing his kk custom rom

Thank you.
About your remarks:
1. cwm 6.0.4.8/philz edition did not work. a) it has mount problems; b) it prevented android 2.3.5 from booting.
2. You, before editing, said recovery is independent of the rom on the phone. If this is the case, then why all cwm 6 versions are in trouble with /system on my phone? and why mardon said that won't work with stock rom?

Cwm 6 or 5 cannot mount /system /data or /cache bcoz cwm cannot handle samsung's filesystem rfs used in galaxy ace. This problem has no solution except changing to custom rom or using cfroot kernel which has ability to change fs type to ext4.also it is quite better than stock kernel. Proceed with caution. Also i think you need android 2.3.6 for cf root kernel. You can download official android 2.3.6 from sammobile.com and cf root kernel for s5830
from Google. Also do try cwm 5.0.2.6 once it can work.
And btw flashing 2.3.6 will wipe data cache root everything.
If you choose to flash 2.3.6, try cf auto root kernel. Cm roms use ext4 by default with quite better kernels.

1. CWM 5.0.2.6 does not have any mounting problem.
2. I do not want changing to custom rom.
3. Can "cfroot kernel" be used along with my official 2.3.5 rom?
4. What caution do you mean when you say "Proceed with caution"?
5. If I install 2.3.6, then will I have "cfroot kernel" and consequently can I install CWM 6 without mounting problem?

Root lost after changing kernel

Is is normal to loose root on phone if changing kernel?
I am on S3 I9305 LTE installed custom rom with boeffla 5.4 kernel and changed kernel to agni pure stock kernel then suddenly I phone says not rooted no su binary.
Which recovery do you use? Maybe try to root via recovery menu.
Which custom rom did you install?

Simply flash this -> http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
After flashing Boeffla. It seems as I created an issue when porting from i9300 that erases (?) superuser after flashing Boeffla Kernel. Therefore, you may always flash supersu in a flashable zip (link above) and everything is good

Problem while installing twrp in my samsung galaxy s advance gt i9070

Respected developers,
A few days ago I had installed kitkat 4.4.2 carbon rom. Then I got the news that 6.0.1 cm13 has been realesed . I watched a couple of videos on how to install it . It needed TWRP for installing it so I flashed twrp kernal.md5 using odin and I am not sure about the file name after that my device was unable to boot then I flashed the stock rom using odin . It worked . Now can I flash that file which I used before to get a twrp now ?
The .md5 file which I used was from xda.
Currently I am using rooted jelly bean 4.1.2 with a temp cwm
You can use this: http://www.androidiani.com/forum/mo...-cyanogenmod-13-di-polishvodka-s-advance.html
Download CM13.zip, install it with temp cwm, do a wipe data and reboot (if cwm ask you about root, select No).
