Hi there i was wondering is there anyway to adjust the colors of your screen with a excutable script?
I only wanna use the color red for my screen for battery saving on my i9000.
I wanna do this with a swipe up motion on my launcher so it has to be a excutable script are something XD.
Is there a terminal command that adjusts the screen colors for the i9000.
Im using slim bean 3.0 and im a noob with android and linux but if someone could give me a good direction it would be helpfull.
Sorry for the bad english XD
thanks in advance
Wow... that is NOT a good idea... it will be hard to see and read the texts, and it WON'T save ANY battery, cause if you use only red, the whole screen will be red... no point of using it then :/
I,m sorry to disappoint you T.T

I don't think you understand any of the science behind it and can't be bothered explaining it so here is a brief summary.
- Red is the lowest wavelength colour, uses least energy
- Disabling all colour channels except Red results in +66% power conservation from screen
- Whole screen won't be red, it will just be reproduced using varying grades of red. Yes text will be harder to read but that isn't an issue since you can just turn it off if you need or change the colour channel
In the past I have used the Chainfire3D app which uses its own GPU drivers on your device. It has an option called "Night mode" that allows you turn off colour channels and stuff resulting in massive battery gains. I used to use it with GB and am unsure if it works with ICS/JB. Make a backup and give it a go, post back with results please.

Yes, I used to have swipe up gesture on my launcher enable red night mode. It's quite convenient.

Hello,
In "Performances" in Settings from CyanogenMod 9 , there is an option "Tramage/Dithering" ; what it is ?
Thanks , and have a good day !
up please :/
I believe it has to do with the audio (Changing the output from X bits to less bits; like 24 > 16bit without losing (much) qaulity) Something like that
Hi guys,
this particular setting has nothing to do with audio, it's about display dithering, and some screen models benefit from it.
cheers,

Yay, I looked it up thoroughly 'cose it baffled me too, I'm an audio guy so I thought maybe sampling frequency too.
But hey guess what it's the same, you can dither (add a shaped noise to) a digital video signal too ;o)
Please hit thanks if you care, I badly need it...

It improves image quality, I have ZTE blade with CM and when turned off, I can see weird artifacts on colour gradients (maybe it is caused by insufficient color depth of LCD), especially on icons... When turned on, artifacts are gone. I hope you can understand what I meant to say, it is hard to describe
Hi. I'm a relatively new Touchpad owner, and I've settled on CN Butta as my daily Android ROM, but I also use WebOS quite a bit. I have a lot to learn, but I'm (slightly) less stupid than I was, and getting less and less stupid every day. Unfortunately, my stupidity is getting in the way of fixing a minor problem. When I installed CN Butta, it set a default Moboot screen that is really really bright, like way brighter than the Touchpad ever is when it's running Android or WebOS. I removed the screen with ClassicNerd's Moboot cleaner zip, but when I updated his ROM today, the super-bright screen came back. How can I adjust the brightness on Moboot so it doesn't come up so bright?
I thought about posting this in the CN Butta thread, but that's in the developer section, and I am still WAY too stupid to post there, and this is a question anyways. I hope I am doing this right and not pissing anyone off. Thanks for your time in reading.
I don't think you can bring it down.... I think what you'll have to do is change the background of which there are several...
But seeing as its only there for a few seconds what does it matter?

It matters when you're in bed in a dark room, and a brilliant flash of light disturbs the person trying to sleep next to you. I'll look into the themes, I was just hoping there was a way I could lower the brightness without having to change the theme every time I update my ROM, since this particular ROM changes it back to brilliance mode every update.
Hmmm... dunno what to tell you but my Moboot theme hasn't changed since I flashed the one I found and liked

Suggestion? Perhaps you could turn the device face down during initial bootup? So as not to disturb the person next to you trying to sleep?
Also if brightness is a concern for you during the night while the person next to you is trying to sleep. You may want to consider installing Chainfire3D, it has an excellent option for Nightmode use. I use it regularly at night. Also by the same developer there is an app called CF Lumen. It's similar as the Nightmode with Chainfire but with more lighting options.

It still wasn't working. I needed to wipe data, uninstall both, install lite, then click on unlock in app and to download unlock to get it too work.
Ok now.

How much does this affect the battery?
I have been looking for something like this, but I am scared of purchasing a good app, just to have it kill my battery because the camera is always on.
Thanks
I'm curious as well.

Ya, it seems like it would do a number on a battery to keep the camera open, but also keep the CPU high doing processing.
Anyone using this program that could do like a couple 15 minute tests with the screen off and this program either running or not?

I've been using the old "smart stay" app for a handful of days, and I've seen no change in battery life.
From what I understand the App only uses the camera to snap a quick picture for face recognition half way through the screen time out time; if it sees one it restart s there timer. it also has a root option to only activate when the touch screen hasn't been used, which further reduced the frequency of camera use.
Downloading now
heh funny thing but doesn't work for me maybe because i'm ugly
Works well on Galaxy S II, but kill music player when lock. could you please fix it?
Very creative app!
So I just got the point 3 update on Viper ROM the capacitive buttons haven't caused any trouble as of yet and everything else appears to be working pretty smooth I like the new um power button thing on the swipe down menu and it seems to still run about the same speed pretty snappy using lighting launcher and screen filter to save battery it does charge really slow but you gotta give them credit this is really there second phone with a nice size battery and I bet you the next release will have even better power management

Glad you like it. However, Screen filter just tints the screen, it won't save you battery. I use it in the movies. More power management is coming, I have something up my sleeve

Go to the main AFH download page, click the link, wait the 5-10 seconds, and it will generate other mirrors on the right side of the page for you to download from. There is also an alternate download link that's hosted on goo.im
I want to give thanks to -viperboy- first and foremost for always putting out a quality ROM in a timely fashion. I've been using your ROM's since I had my Evo 4g Lte and loved your work so naturally I came back :good:. I just had a quick question regarding kernels, the stock one from what I've noticed battery wise its actually pretty good but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced any other kernels that are noticeably better battery wise?

I come from the line of thinking that if my screen is darker then it's probably not using as much power, granted that difference may be minimal.
Is there anyway we can modify the layout of the pull-down device settings like the wifi tether icon doesn't seem to work on the Sprint version unless you have a specific data plan so I'd like to either remove it or swap it out with the application that I run for tether

Well, your line of thinking is incorrect. Imagine your phone is on full brightness and you put a piece of tint on the front of the screen. It will appear to be darker right? But in reality, it's just not projecting the light because you have a filter over it. Screen filter is exactly the same thing. There is no battery savings to be had with it.
Toggles will be edited for next release to fix/remove those that don't work or are useless. A

Good morning.
I noticed that sometimes (brightness always auto at 20%) when I turn the screen on, the color of icons, the interface in general it's too bright, like washed out.
For example, when I open Whatsapp, the background behind the emoticons it's not black, but a light grey, and the mouth or eyes of the emoticons are less distinctive?
Did you ever noticed something like this?
Yeah, it happens sometimes also to me. Assistance say to try a software repair with PC Companion but meh
Is it a safe (and useful) procedure? XD
Yeah but you will lose every data on your phone. Not sure about useful eh, Btw did you notice if also X-reality disables alone sometimes? I got this issue
I don't know... I lalways leave x-reality disabled XD
Yes I have noticed this. Kept wondering why the colors/screen would look different sometimes.
Glad i'm not the only one who thinks so ._. And sometimes my display seems bluish and at other times it seems like a very good white! I don't get it :|
