I live in US and all that. Is there anyway I can do this? I don't care if it's 2g on tmobile, just want to know if it's doable and how excatly to do it. Thank you in advance.

You can root any Droid 3 with Dan Rosenberg's Motofail, found here: http://vulnfactory.org/blog/2012/02/11/rooting-the-droid-4-a-failed-bounty-experiment/

it's in my list, under root
menu/settings/about phone/system version
if you have
5.6.890 use pete's
5.7.906 use moto fail

Verizon unlocked GSM XT862 3G problem

Hello,
I've bought a XT862, GSM unlocked version. And got my phone about a week now.
3G has never worked in this period.
- My phone is unlocked
- Rooted
- Safestrapped 1.08
- Installed Mavrom 4.0
- Kernel = .906
I saw that there were people talking about an old SIM, swapped mine. Still no connection.
Asked my carrier to look at APN settings. Still no succes.
Is there something that I am missing?
Do I have to do a special radio flash? or try XT883?
Can anyone help me out?
Start here on page 17. I'm using the Mav Rom 3.5 motoflash with the integrated chinese radio on Straight talk without any issues. The op put this thing together well and was very easy to install.

Can you try to use the Bell Canada XT860 radio? A number of users have been wondering if that would work...
Thanks, but it didn't work

My carrier is T-Mobile. But I don't even have GPRS data connectivity. I can only place voice calls.
I'm wondering if my phone's radio simply is broken? Or would voice also not be working if that's the case?
The reason for me to test this is because other people got it working here in the Netherlands, but with other providers.
I also have ordered almost every possible carriers prepaid cards to test.. no results.
Does anybody know how I can find out if my radio is ok?
Is your apn set up?

I have nearly the same problem. I have the same firmware .906 and it is unlocked (XT862)
I flashed the chinese radio.img over the old one from verizon and now i cannot make calls anymore, this worked before flashing. (the tutorial from XDA, it was mentioned that it will work with .906 too)
Data connection is also disabled, nothing seems to be working.
It is rooted and has safestrap on it... can i sort out this problem by applying the maverick rom only? or do i have to change other settings?
This is depressing.. after an hardlocked droid 3 .. this one seems to be locked down as well..

[Q]Help please. XT883 on XT862 not working

Hello Guys. I really appreciate your help and dedication.
I spent a lot of time tryng fix my XT862. When I bought it, was working with Att. When I didn't have access to MY Contacts I install a new ROM but I can't make to work again.
The phone is unlock and rooted, v.5.7.906.xt863. the Baseband is N_03.18.29P but if I flash to "radio883", I get Baseband unknow .
I changed the build.prop 1 to 0 and 7 to 3.
Maybe my xt883 radio is not the correct one? Please help. Thanks

Lg G Flex Root D950G

Does anyone know how to root running 4.4.2? Only method I can find is to downgrade first to 4.2.2. If that is the only way, can somebody point me the way to a download and instructions to do this for the g flex?

supposedly you cant root with a factory 4.4.2. you have to downgrade first.
I've already answered you in one thread you posted this. Try to keep these in one place and you'll get some help. Use stump root from the g3 forum.
Also, questions go in q and a. development is for devs to release eek.

Tried yesterday even asked developer about my model to see if it could get supported. If so, he would be a hero to many a g flex owners
It looks like the only way to root D950G running stock 4.4.2 is to downgrade. Does anyone know where instructions are for that?

When stump root said not supported did you select to brute force it? It worked perfectly on my T-Mobile flex so don't see why it won't work for yours.

Yes I brute forced twice. It seems all root methods work on t mobile but not my D950G model or at&t D950. Only way to I to downgrade so far. I have rooted a wack of phones and this is the easiest method ever, no screwing it up.

Well that's strange. Anyways of i get a second I'll make a twrp zip of the kit Kat for your phone. Then you can just flash that and before rebooting flash the latest supersu zip, like what D-Fuse made for T-Mobile.

By the way did you download the supersu apk and open it after running brute force. Stump doesn't install it and i had to open it and update su binary once before everything worked

Thanks but I am on kit Kat, I need to downgrade to jelly bean 4.2.2 to root. No I didn't install super user because it said device not supported
I'm taking about doing this with your stock kit Kat kdz. Then follow those instructions so after flashing the zip you'd flash the supersu zip. That would leave you on stock rooted kit Kat

Or you could make it yourself following this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666967
Do you think I could use the first option? I see sprint, at&t, and t mobile. I use rogers, model almost at&t D950G compared to at&t's D950.
For the second option, is it ok to use for my flex if I get kdz/tot for this phone? Just wondering because it only says G2. Thanks
That's how i made the Sprint downgrade zip and D-FUSE made all his zips. Just download the latest kit Kat kdz for your phone and follow the instructions i linked. It's very easy, should only take an hour or so depending on your computer
Cool have everything downloaded will give a shot later. There's an app call lg phone from, it tells everything about phone and even gives link to your kdz

Can non-Pure Edition Moto X 2014 be rooted?

I found this link indicating a way to root the 2014 Moto X. Nothing in it says that you need the Pure Edition to root. But that runs contrary to what I have read elsewhere?
Can someone confirm or deny that root can be achieved in non-Pure versions of the new Moto X?
Thanks.
You wouldn't even have to ask if it were possible right now. There would be than thousands of posts about it. So in short, no. No new Moto X with 4.4.4 has a root method.

As stated in the article, it only works if you can unlock the bootloader through Motorola. If you can unlock the bootloader to begin with, root is trivial.

Um... I was looking for 4.4.4 for my 1st gen Moto X... Which is a XT1058. The 2nd gen X is on Telus so I wouldn't have asked for a Rogers flash...
Perhaps you've confused me with someone else?

Well, the version numbers match; I'll extract the build.prop and see which model it really is for.
