Hello,
Need help regarding how switch recovery from TWRP to CWM. I have CWM backup which cant be used on TWRP and i have to switch back to CWM to restore that backup file. Secondly, tell me how to create least size backup file (steps?)
Thank you.
Flash cwm
Restore a backup
Flash twrp
Make backup and go to step one again, then you can flash twerp and only use that.
In twerp you can compress recovery, just enable it when making the backup in twrp

Hi Guys,
I currently have two HTC ONE's on Rogers. One is totally stock, and the other is unlocked with ARHD. What I'm looking to do is return the unlocked phone to totally stock without an RUU since it doesn't exist for Rogers yet... I want to do this not only for myself, but a good handfull of other users on here who want a stock Rogers nandroid + recovery to return to stock.
My logic says that on the stock phone, i should
1. Unlock the boot loader
2. Soft boot to CWM recovery
3. Take a full nandroid
4. use ADB to backup the stock recovery
5. restore it all on the unlocked device
Problem is, I really don't know how to do steps 4-5 technically. I can unlock and softboot into cwm, but how do i backup the stock recovery from there? and then how do i flash it to my ARHD phone etc? I've searched and searched and searched and really can't find all of the answers and i don't want to piece too many things together and screw it up.
Need some help, Thanks!
In the stock phone, after flash of CWM, do a nandroid backup, this is saved on sd.
You can mount the sd with CWM copy the backup to pc and after restore it in the phone with ARHD
I would suggest you read mike1986 guide

I've read Mike's guide, its good - but doesn't touch on backing up a stock recovery from a stock phone. Doing a nandroid backup doesn't backup factory recovery either, as far as I know.

I thought CWM didn't backup stock recovery partition? The whole goal of this is to have a copy of the original Rogers recovery that is unavailable to us at the moment.
Hi. I have recently downloaded a stock ROM for my htc one 802w, but it's in the .rar format and I do not know what to do with it, but the dude said it was a "nandroid backup" I know it's a backup of some sort and I have to install it in recovery? Speaking of recoveries I have philz recovery 5 which is CWM 6.0.3.3. Thanks.
Extract the rar. You should get a file name like this 2013-08-19.15.36.11(obviously with a different date).
Place the file into /data/media/clocworkmod/backup. Reboot into recovery. Go to backup and restore. Choose restore. Restore the backup. Voila

you can flash twrp and it will replace cwm and vice versa.
i changed from twrp to cwm only by flashing it over, because twrp caues problems (backups were damaged or not recognized - never had such problems with cwm).

Ok thank you for the advise will look for twrp and see which is best for this device

but sir tyson says twrp is better?
They both work fine, but I prefer TWRP for more advanced features.
Did you by any chance rename your backup-folders with spaces in them?
That would explain why they weren't found by recovery.

İ think twpr is better when iwas at cwm it doesnt wipe good. İ have to flash orjinal rom after 3 or 4 flashing because of reboots .but after twpr there is no need to flash orginal rom.

i used both modes. I know that spaces are forbidden so i didn´t use them or rename anything.
But the fact is that two times twrp produced a corrupt backup i couldn´t reflash.
Never had such problems with cwm (but the same with cwm touch :crying

p.s. thanks tys0n for the incredible greyandroid bootlogo

Hey guys,
I have s3 mini. I wanted to flash 4.4 Kitkat on my phone. I needed to use TWRP recovery for that. So I removed ClockworkMod & installed TWRP.
Now,the problem is I have my stock rom(4.1.2) backed up using rom manager in ClockworkMod.
I tried installing ClockworkMod recovery using TWRP, but still TWRP recovery appears.
Is there anyway I can get ClockworkMod Back?
Plsss Help me guys!

I think you need to use the same version of cwm that you used to take the backup. Example, if you did a backup with cwm 6.0.2.7 you only can restore it with cwm 6.0.2.7 not work with 6.0.2.8, I think, got it!?!

I did the backup with 6.0.2.7. When I backup it says md5 dispatch. I have another backup saved in my computer. I copied it into the phone but no recogonized by rom manager. Is there any other way?
I meant when i restore it says md5 dispatch.
Or delete the checksum file so it will skip that

hello,
try this:
1. CWM flashes with your back up when you reboot freezes at startup because it finds the data folder or another (can not remember which) I think.
2. Then reboot into recovery again
3. flash back your backup again.
