No need to open a new thread each day with the same problem.
In your other thread from yesterday you wrote that odin stopped at factoryfs.img.
And as a member wrote you bricked your device.
So two options:
a) replace motherboard for complete repair
b) use the workaround with repartition (and excluding damaged sectors) - use the search here for the detailed explanations how to do this.

If you repartition, be warned you'll lose up to 3gb of space and it's likely you won't be able to run stock roms anymore, only cm based or aokp as they're smaller.

As this member wrote in another thread (search above in my first answer) he bricked his device. So the "right" button combo isn't of any use here

There is no "miracle" fix.

thanks Thai
Learned something new about the button combos
Didnt know they would change under certain conditions. Thought they would stay the same. Funny it workes that way. Never read it before. Pretty easy mistake to make on my behalve, I read his combos and really thought he was doing it wrong. Sorry, I then had it wrong. My bad.

I have froyo 2.2 UK version but can't get into download/recover mode via the 3 button mode.
Does this make rooting risky for me??
Only want to root my phone as easy as possible to install the lagfix as the phone is so damn slow!!
How can i go about it?? Was going to use that z4root thing but hasn't it been taken off the market?? thanks
Dont flash anything before you get download mode working.
Saves you alot of trouble in the future when you need it for some reason.
Better be save then sorru

is there an easy way to do it? as i say i'm totally confused by all of this so the thread i saw about fixing your 3 button combination to downlaod mode just really confused me!
Hey mate,
At the top of the forum page, there are 3 sticky posts, one of them talks about the 3br modes not working and what to do.

[Q] Continuum v5R3 Question

I know I should probably put this on the development portion but I can't post there cause this is my first post lol. I'm wondering is it normal for the screen to flash when pressing the Home button?

Ran into the same limitation when I softbricked during my first attempt to update a kernel [talon] as required prior to the update to v5r3.
Had to look here and comment if ever I am to be up to asking anything in the dev forum. ...but then perhaps my soft brick question is best addressed here, aside from the fact that I still have the issue..

it has more feeling that everytime i hit the home key its reloading the home screen. instead of before where it would do nothing. I'm using touchwiz 4 maybe it is because of that?

Indeed that is the understood objective, but getting into download mode is the impediment. I have tried a number of the advised buttons/odin/usb/battery sequences, each of them many times. All yielding only a return of the soft brick image. So now I am waiting for arrival of a shipped jig from MobileTechVideos..Still hopeful.

you might see that image if there is a problem with the location for the image for download mode. i spoke t one member that said they had the phone+computer image but odin saw the phone so they hit start and the download image poped up halfway through
i have also successfully flashed with odin with a completely black screen. phone looked like it was off but was really in download mode.

This is in the wrong place. You will hear that several times I am sure.
What did you do before it started doing this? What ROM are you running? Did you try entering a download with key combos and inserting battery?
you can change the name, go into advanced mode when you edit the op. but this is in the wrong section kindly ask a moderator to move it.
have you tried it with odin already open? is this when trying to 3 button in or even if you 2button + usb cable? the volume up+ volume down + usb cable never fails me.
did you have gingerbread on the phone? if yes, did you try volume down+power for 3 seconds? menu + volume down + power?

Well it doesnt even matter I know what your problem is, do not worry, you sir are a build 1010 (+) such as myself.
And when flashing back to stock FROM GINGERBREAD you MUST use this method but do not worry.
Either buy a jig:
http://www.mobiletechvideos.com/blog/?page_id=100
Or look up how to build one yourself:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
After you access download mode use THIS METHOD to flash back to stock AFTER you use Odin One Click:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995143
or...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10056254&postcount=36
**Note that I have not used izcezars package but that should also work flawlessly, I have always used the JH2 method of going back to stock but either should work perfectly in your situation**
This is what I have done multiple times now when I go stock after Gingerbread:
1. One Click (TO REPLACE BOOTLOADERS)
2. This exact bootloop
3. Download Jig
4. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995143 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10056254&postcount=36
5. Back to stock with correct bootloaders.
Good luck, and dont worry this happened to me your fine.

Hahaha I agree with you about the wrong section however I helped him, because honestly I just think that itll be better if he just gets his answer, tell him what he did wrong, he learns his lesson, fixes his phone, and no more posts in develpoment that arent development
Heck maybe one day he will be helping out someone else with this problem too haha.
Check your pm
Edit: I don't play these games!
I HAVE THE FIX: SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME TODAY, ALSO I WAS ON GR-12!!
ONLY OPTION: Go to Radio shack buy 3 100kohm resistors and make a jig, its simple http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0aoabVtPJ8
trust me follow this vid!!!!
once you get into download mode, flash stock GB again, follow all the steps, using odin 1.7.
I am back on GR-12, Im not flashing anytime soon!!!
Just so everyone knows, where should a help question like this be posted if not the Q&A section?

this was posted in the dev section, it has since been moved to the proper section. but it also could have been asked in the stock rom thread or the gr12 thread.

Not sure this Q&A is the right place for parental advice either
I am guessing you tried the battery pull method more than once and with correct button combo. I have to try it multiple times to get it to work.
Bagtery pull = remove battery, open one click, press and hold the proper download mode buttons (i.e. Vol up + down or just down), then insert the usb cable. Should boot into dl at some point. I could have sworn I read somewhere that this worked for all builds.

[Q] Galaxy Tab Wifi P1010 is stuck in a loop...

Hey guys
Got a problem here regarding my GT-P1010
Basicaully I've followed a guide to install Froyo using Odin onto my Tab. The problem is the Tab now starts, goes to the home screen and after a few seconds automatically restarts. This cycle will keep on going unless I hold the power button and turn off the device.
I used a p1010 firmware from samfirmwares which I thought would be compatible.
Anyone else had a problem similar to mine and found a solution?
I've got access to recovery so I can wipe and install a zip, however I can't find a ROM in .zip format anywhere. Development seems to be concentrated alot towards the GSM or CDMA versions

ok you have gone into bootloop there cause it was the wrong version, (don't think there is any others that can bar stock. You need to get stock back onto your device.
Did you take a copy of it before you flashed?
check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133590
and follow the steps and flash safe , Do not flash any roms\kernels that not made to your tab . or may aliens from the space will eat your nuts

Thanks for the help guys. I've tried using Odin again with the latest firmware, but for the wifi version dont you have to select CSC as well in Odin?
I tried with just PIT and PDA files selected and with re-partition on but I still have the same problem.
Device starts up, goes to home menu and I get process crash report and then the device restarts itself
Can you get to download mode? if you can and there should be no reason try flashing from there the file should be place but clear cache prior to the flash.
Btw froyo is what we are on so why would you be trying to flash this is the stock?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Hi Alex
Yes I can access Download mode.
I'll clear the cache in recovery before I go to download mode.
Yes I am trying to flash stock firmwar, because the tab just keeps restarting itself when it boots to the main menu. I get an error message that android.media.process has crashed and then the loop starts all over again
Is this your backup stock?
if so worried that you changed the baseband.. Should have my tab back in the morning to help but and am not sure if the but did you download the correct region from Sam cause this sounds like either the bootloader got screwed.. Would clear everything again flash if you follow the instructions on the relevant link again that k0sh gave.. And on final boot this may take a while go leave the device let it finish then come back hopefully it will have finished then if that works great. If not then would imagine its back to sammy cause you have done everything right. Nor unleash come one else has any other ideas... Will ask just incase

What does android.media.process control? Can you install titanium and freeze that process?
Hi again Alex
The firmware I am trying to flash is the stock European one from samfirmwares. i dont have a backup so im just trying to use what i can access online. i've tried multiple versions of Odin from 1.3 to 1.85. ive left it to download the rom, it installs itself succesfully, does a few things in recovery mode, starts, goes into the home screen but i still get the same loop sequence. if you could somehow give me a backup from your Tab (if its a european one) then that would be greatly appreciated.
@ranger: Im not sure what the process controls to be honest and i cant even use the tab before it restarts itself again.
Also I've seen this post by from another thread

Take a deep breath. Breath IN and out
use the nexus root kit in the dev forum to push the original firmware back to your device.. The awesome Developer has included all instructions on his thread.. Then learn a bit more about ANDROID. PLEASE ..
GOOD LUCK.. if this were not a nexus device you could have just thrown 250.oo away .. :highfive::good:
also there is a reset somehow. could be hold both vol up vol down and then push and hold power.. might take you into nv flash or stock recovery . not read much on this device as far as that. But will when its in my hand.

im not sure holding those buttons in that config is correct was just a guess. You should yes be able to push new recovery with fast boot. as this is how its useally done.. AS I Posted in the above i looked at the root tool kit . it looks as thou it has a auto push to restore the device . I ASSUMED it was nv flash or fast boot. Since i do not have the device i cant say for sure.
there is also some kind of small hole on the left side . This could also be a reset. again TRY AT YOUR OWN Risk. im only guessing on experience with other android devices .
I should stop replying to i need help threads until i know more of this device as its only guessing .
Good luck . let us know what you learn from getting you back to normal boot. will help avoid this stuff in future.

I have been able to use that combo for a hard reset on the device last night, but it doesn't seem to help with the loop I'm stuck in. I know that there is cwm recovery on here since I did a nandroid after I rooted. I did see the hole on the side but I had assumed it was a mic hole. Kinda afraid to stick anything in there I just got back to my parents from my sisters graduation party so I may try to give reflashing recovery a shot before I leave here. I'll post results when I hopefully have progress

OOOPS On the hole thing. your prob right .
As far as the combo doing hard reset. if its not fixing the boot looP its a soft reset . hard reset would restore your device settings .

There are actually two holes on the device; one on the top near the left corner, and another on the left side above the 4 pin dock connectors. Pretty sure these are dual mics for noise canceling, for the Google Now. I may be wrong, but still don't recommend sticking a paperclip in there.
Ok. On the WugFresh Nexus Root Toolkit that I used last night to unlock and root there is an option to unroot and relock bootloader. This is normally done over adb, which I did not have access to, but if you select the "My device won't boot" option, it will do it over fast boot. Now that my device actually booted up correctly, I am unlocking and re-rooting. All is good, despite now having to set everything up all over again.
On a side note, I highly recommend WugFresh's Root Toolkit. I used it for my Galaxy Nexus before when it was just a command line script that would do all of the work for you, now it is built with a complete GUI that makes things even easier.
