Try odin v3 and download newest firmware from samfirmware. You extract the zip and put the file in pda. Then press Start.
How long did you wait after the black screen? Maybe it is a black screen because it has not the right bootanimation enabler. Try waiting 5 minutes after black screen.

I guest you have to tick partition with .pit file included. Maybe you can try Darky's ROM that flash thru odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940671
Read the whole thread and good luck.
follow this guide here flash Eclair than froyo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847765
cheers
Do what angiogram says and it will work
Preference for a broken phone is to flash via Odin to Eclair using pit 512 and reparation checked .
The aim is to recover the phone to a working state you can then do what you want in the way of custom roms .

i always use V1.7...never have problems.
but you must not flash when you don't get added in textbox!!
and setting pitfile takes a little while (no to long) so be a (little) patient.
i managed to use EZBASE to get it up and running now ,shall i just conect to kies and get the official stock rom or flash from this rom ???/

Galaxy S ODIN Flash

Guys I've got a problem with my Galaxy S i9000 with CM9. It stopped working after restart (endless loop on Cyangenmod logo) and now I'cant get to recovery mode. Only download mode works, so I think that I must to flash it with ODIN. And there is a problem, because I can't find proper CM9 ROM files for ODIN. And what version of ODIN should I use? Now I've got 4.38 and phone is visible - it's OK?
I will be very pleased for ROM files to ODIN and some instructions how to flash it propely. I've read many threads from morning, but I can't find ROMs
Hi there,
afaik there are no CM Versions flashable via ODIN.Use ODIN to flash a Stock firmware, then install ClockworkModRecovery and Install CM9 via CWM.
You should try to take Out your Battery for about 5 minutes and try to enter Recovery Mode.
About the Odin Version: If you look at different "howto use ODIN tutorials" there are different Versions "recommended" I've used multiple ODIN Versions eg 1.3 / 1.83 and every Version made a good job.
Give this a try if Battery-out for 5 Minutes does't take you back to recovery

I tried rooting with the chainfire auto root thing and after the red android screen i got the green one again and its stuck,i tried taking out the battery a few times but its still not working.
Any help would be amazing.

You say you are stuck on download mode .
As in download mode does screen not move unable to boot to recovery unable to power off .
Read the CFauto root instructions in full

I did and didnt find anything helpfull for my situation.
Also tried to root again but again its stuck on downloading... do not turn off target screen.
Boot to download mode and it says as it should Downloading do not turn off .
You are now supposed to flash the firmware via odin .
You should flash your stock firmware to get the phone working .
Then read the basic faqs and guides before you flash anything as its pointless flashing without reading the basics .
Or take it to a service centre .

Is there a way to know my version/pda since i have no idea what stock rom to download
Device model no. in recovery mode
Hi,
Sorry to ask a random question. I Have my device model no. as S3 I9305 when I go to download mode and in my phone settings I can see my device model as S3 I9305T. I have recently installed Australian official firmware(XSA version without any career bloatware) in my phone, which is the S3 I9305T. I found it weird to have two different model nos. in 2 different places. When I first bought this phone it was the Telstra version, which is S3 I9305T. After that I changed many firmwares and installed S3 I9305 version from optus and other country's S3 I9305 version as well. Could you please tell me why is that?? Is this because I once installed I9305 firmware once? If that's the reason, today I flashed I9305T official firmware again with Odin. Is there any way to reset the download mode as well?? Please reply. Thanks.

Not unless you know what it is or saved the original .
You can just pick a stock rom for your area/ network .
If you bothered to read the basics their would be no need for all this ratting about .
@JJEgan I need some help, Ive got device, with same problem (i9305)
the donwload mode (which it defult boots into) does not show any device infos (which normally shows on the upper left corner)
Ive tried flashing latest stock rom (4.3) it gives an error (NOT "error pit file partition" but error flashing. failed it does not go beyond sboot )

So you run odin in windows.
Boot your phone to download mode
Connect device and wait for confirmation of connection in odin.
And then you click pda and choose a stock firmware.
And click start.
@tissot Odin gives fail error as I stated before. Am going to try 3 part odin package ive downloaded,.

Download n910t pit file and flash the pit file with the firmware. Make sure repartiton is checked. And let it reboot without pulling the the usb out.. the first thing it always does after odin to stock is reboot to recovery....are you getting any errors when you try to flash the firmware? Download this firmware. It is untouched full stock wipes everything

I'm having the same problem. I'm not getting any errors, and I found and flashed the PIT file with the stock firmware. Still no boot. It just sits on the boot up screen. No recovery, no battery icon...no nothing.
