[Q] [Help] Bricked Moto X

Hello everyone.
I have a little problem here. I just bricked my Moto X.
Bricked by Downgrade from 5.0 to 4.2 and Install a OTA. (Bad Idea).
So I read this post. I do the instructions step by step. But my Moto still "dead" no power on, no green light, no fastboot.

That thread you linked is your last best hope.
If it doesn't work, you're likely doomed.
You could try flashing whatever version you were on previously with fastboot/mfastboot. Not 5.0, cause that doesn't exist. Whatever last official version you were on. See the complete moto X guide sticky in general for help on "returning to stock".
But what you've done is a well known guaranteed brick. Read read read.... Then do.... In the future.

Hi, I'm in the same situation. I've flashed the bootloader too. RSD shows: "QHSUSB_DLOAD"

Sorry For the late reply... But can u connect ur phone and run adb device. Can u see ur device there. Try to manually flash all your partitions. . Ill search for some other solutions.

also, are you on Win7 or Win8/8.1?
Try to get a Win7 if possible and run-as-admin the command prompt for ADB fastboot.
also, download the Moto X tool in the Android-dev subforum, it has some useful scripts to manually flash some stuff.

I tried the way of another post and I'm in Win 8.
The problem is that when the phone is flashed , the phone does not enter the fastboot mode. It shows a green LED a few seconds and the computer recognize it again as before.

Green led at the top of your device means your battery is dead.

Thanks for the answer, Is there any way to make a bypass and feed the mobile directly ?

[USB Driver] New Driver for Nexus 5 M Preview.

I found out that my old drivers from building nexus 5 and nexus 9 aosp/cm did not take for M preview this afternoon.
Pulled straight from the Android SDK Manager. Enjoy!

I don't see why not, its just an updated version. I'm sure its backwards compatible.

perhaps I was using the old naked drivers from 2010. New drivers are from 2014 and have more definition in them. Nonetheless, they are there for anyone needing them.
OLD
DriverVer = 12/06/2010,4.0.0000.00000
NEW
DriverVer = 08/28/2014,11.0.0000.00000

Turns out my problem, and maybe yours, was actually that the device started in PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol). After changing it to MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) in the settings, search for "Select USB Configuration", the device connected exactly like it always has.

I will try as soon my phone is working again, I tried to root it with Supersu 2.46 from chainfire, but phone doesn't boot anymore

Do you know what the option "MIDI" is for?

Old drivers still work, took me awhile to figure out how to get Android M to connect to my Lappy. Turns out there's a new setting in Developer Options where you get to select your file system type for the computer to read. Had to select MTP.

First of all its not called root, we call it full capability unlock. ya of course we can get our device cap_unlocked by following simple steps given over this forum.
i am enjoying full freedom with my device ML 535 DS and dude you must try it out.:fingers-crossed:

Yes its possible to root ur phone with WP internal tools

The recent update from Ms doesn't allow us to use the well known extra+info patching method. So we can't use that one any more.
however I recently followed these steps given here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64350590&postcount=318
you need to first uninstall mix radio app by changing the date and time setting to 2110. and then reinstall the same on SdCard.
Patch it using CustomPFD given by Xboxmod.

Its 100% working as i can confirm.
Also keep in mind not to update your extra+info on your device as it will block all your caps. If you already updated it then flash your ROM for your device using image designer tool.

No dear the brilliant Windows Phone Internals works only for X20 or XX20 series ie 520,620.....1520etc
am still waiting for the developer to build it for other devices.

do you know how to take backup of data + apps any other way. When i try backup in settings via wifi it takes some time and 100% complete but it shows error about cannot backup

..i was to reset my phone so i want backup. i doing this because my phone give lot of touch issue while phone is on charging and called to microsoft they said reset your device it will help. if you better solution please share..

Required tools:
1. SN Write Tool, mod edit - link removed
2. usb drivers, mod edit - link removed
3. Database Files(MD1_DB and AP_DB) mod edit - link removed
4. Lenovo k3 note (ofcorse)
install usb drivers,
then extract sn write tools,
run sn write.exe as admin,
1. Set Comport as USB Vcom
2. Target type.... Smart phone
then click on system config......... a sub window will be opened..
1. only check on IMEI
and Dual imei
under database section, you have to select that MD1_DB and AP_DB files....
extract downloaded apdp.zip
then select on MD1_DB..........BPLGUInfoCustomAppSrcP_MT6752_S00_K50T5_LTG_V37_1_ltg_n this file
on AP_DB..................APDB_MT6752_S01_L0.MP6_W15 this file
click on save... then click on start.. enter your Imei numbers and click ok
1. turn off your mobile
2. connect phon to your computer with usb cable and press power button.(phn will be in meta mod)
3. tool trying to connect.
it will start writing.
after sucess. turn your mobile on..
plzfollow all steps care fully
you can also change WiFi mac address and Bluetooth address
Dont blame me if any thing went wrong.....

I tried that method. The phone goes to META mode but reboots to OS automatically after a while. Is there any way to fix this ? I can't use any nougat ROMs because of the IMEI problem.

just wanted to say if some one is facing wifi issue as x10 error in wifi or null or imei error pls use imei patch by skyneel for same with patch added by hk daneil in his post as "mt6752-glonass-patch.zip" , to solve the issues,
it solved mine so u can try them too, and with his latest twrp 3.1.1-3 will be good, as it shows my previous backups too, u can try them .... cheers....

Auto Wi-Fi ON option not found on sony xperia xz1

Anyone able to enable the new Oreo auto wifi On option? It seems this option is not on the native software of the xz1 compact like it is on other devices.

So I think the issue is the adb command window won't recognize my phone. I get an error no devices emulators found when I type the adb shell command. Download loaded the software multiple times. Phone set to debug etc. Not sure what I am missing....

Maybe you're missing drivers?

So I downloaded the Xperia driver. Unzipped. Do I need to do anything else to the driver software? Sorry a newbie here.

When you plug in the phone to the computer, there's probably an unknown device in Device Manager. Right click on it and choose update drivers, then select the folder you unzipped the drivers to and let Windows install it.

OK did that. It won't let me install the xz1 driver that I downloaded. Keeps telling me current driver (mtp USB) is the most current and up to date driver. Try to work around it but it keeps preventing me from installing the new driver. And if I delete the driver and unplug replug in phone it automatically installs that previous driver.

Well, I'm out of ideas, sorry I couldn't be of help.

Well I appreciate all the suggestions. I'll keep playing around. Not that important of a feature to go to all this trouble. Thanks again!

Just in case....did you enable USB debugging?

Yeah usb debugging good. Pretty sure it's all bc my laptop is not letting the phone be recognized by the command prompt. I'm gonna try it on the wife's laptop tonight. See if that works...

Have you tried IFTTT or tasker? You can setup to get the location and turn wifi on or off based on that

You can also use the app "WiFi Automatic" from j4velin: works wery well. Actually i'm using this app to auto disable wifi if not connect for more than 5 minuts, leaving the auto reenable to android 8 built-in option, but you can define on or more zone (by GSM cell) for auto re-enable
